My Lion King and some goodies to win

Good Afternoon peeps, are you getting a bit of this sunshine ? It's been really lovely here today after a -8 frost last night, but that's fine if it means we get some nice daytime weather.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback on the Royal Mail saga, my letter is underway and will let you all know what they have to say, although I am not expecting any quick response judging by their usual activity.

I thought I would share one of the samples I did for Stamp Addicits with their new lion image which went on sale today, I like to call him the Lion King, although I know that's not his official name he really does remind me of that character. He's quite a large fellow and I simply stamped him and coloured with Aquamarkers, added some sky and background grasses and some palm trees cut on the Cricut. I know you don't really associate palm trees with a lions habitat, but this lion is a bit of a dandy and on his holidays............you all know I live in fantasy land.

And here's a little giveaway of some Nitwits DP's and embellishments from Sir Stampalot who's sale is still on and bargains to be had here.

Just leave a comment on this post and I will draw a winner before my next post later this week.

Hi Brenda, love the lion but he's not exactly Clarence the friendly lion, he looks a bit cross ... not cross-eyed :)) Great card and I love the palm trees too. Elizabeth x

Brenda, while you are actively struggling with your post, I have had problems with UPS mail. After placing the order at the store, and paying for its delivery, I had to pay extra for delivery here in our country. It is so stupid and very unpleasant.

Great card Brenda, hope the lion's enjoying his holiday lol! Not sure what to make of his expression though.

Meant to add a comment to Saturday's post but was still having problems commenting. I think RM and other large companies are their own worst enemy with the weird answers they give to complaints. Another problem is that your problem seems to be with RM and the Post Office. People tend to think they are all the one thing but they aren't! I'm not defending RM because I've had my own problems with them and even posties aren't immune to having problems with them.

I have to say I'm not happy about people saying PO staff are jobsworths because we want to check and weigh. We have to do this for our sake and the customer's, and also we're told to use the template every time. In practice an experienced PO person can usually tell by the look and feel whether something is ordinary, large or packet. I'm sure the people who complain about this would be the first to complain if we assumed a letter was ordinary and someone ended up being surcharged because it was large. It would be our fault. It really looks as if someone misread your letter which often happens I think if we have to complain about anything. I don't think it's just RM that gives daft answers to a clearly written complaint or query!

This morning before 9.30 I had 2 customers each with 10 parcels and each of them got 10 individual receipts. The first one was while it was quiet but the second caused a queue! No-one complained but I still apologised to everyone in the queue as I served them for keeping them waiting. In general people don't mind if you do that. Perhaps your post office person doesn't realise that it's his/her job to give the customer what he/she wants! Don't bother if they're grumpy that's their problem not yours! My daughter's father-in-law deliberately likes to go to the grumpy assistant for his pension just to annoy them. It's just mischief on his part as he's a lovely man.

Stick to your guns Brenda, don't give in, their must be someone in RM who can give you some answers. All I can say to everyone is if in doubt ask for a posting receipt and always put your own name and address on everything.

Take care,

Kat xx
