Wings and Tails

Morning Peeps, a new theme is starting today at Allsorts, it's 'Wings and Tails' as selected by Ellie along with the chance of winning two prizes, an AALL and Create stamp set or three image from Ruth Hamilton Design .

I have used AALL and Create Follow your Own Path stamp set which also happens to be the same set one winner will receive, well not literally, they will get a brand new set I assure you! The Woodpecker features on my card, but there's also a Toucan and lots of worker stamps and words.

The background stamp from Fully Fledged was inked with Oxides and spritzed water, the arrows stamped and coloured, same with the Woodpecker but I cut that out and placed over some 'straw', word and small birdie from the same set and washi tape to finish.

My second card is a simple Christmas card, no inkiness for a change other than the Gelli Plate panel onto which I stamped the large AALL and Create Pheasants and heat embossed with detail copper EP, the bottom border is a stamp from the same set and the sentiment a lovely old wood mounted Penny Black.

We hope you will join us this week and share your Wings and Tails.

Trees and Leaves and a bit more Christmas

Morning everyone, a bit of a lengthy post so hope you can stick with me till the end. At
Allsorts this week Dena has selected the theme of 'A/G with the option of Tree and/or Leaves. There's a £15 store voucher to be won from WOWVOW. I also have a share for the current Snippets Playground, one I made specifically for the purpose for a change!

Above is one of my recent makes showcasing new releases from AALL and Create, this one is called Fallen Leaves, I was so happy when this landed on my doormat as I love making Autumnal cards and anything with trees. The Maple leaf in the set is beautiful and I simply stamped onto some inked offcuts and heat embossed with detail copper EP, cut out and placed with some twine onto a computer generated poem, one of my all time favourites, Tennyson's original 1833 version of The Lady of Shalott. The word 'leaf' is from the same set and the Cute Mice can't help but make you smile.

My second share features Lavinia stamps, I started with a masked and inked circle then stamped the tree focally and built up the scene with the mask still in place using Versafine Clair Acorn and added some colour and highlights. After removing the mask I stamped the acorns and twigs and sentiment from my Moments stamp set.

Below my Snippets share, I saw this die on the blog of Di's partner in crime Sarn, she kindly sent me the link and within minutes it was ordered. I cut the leaves from lots of snippets and sprayed with mica sprays, arranged over some stamped A&C twigs onto a Gelli Plate background and added the word Autumn and Pheasants which are also A&C.

There are some exciting new releases in the pipeline at Highlight Crafts, but until I can share them two contrasting cards showing the versatility of TRR. Above a snowy scene using one of the backgrounds from A Frosted Eve along with dies from the same collection, Geese from Having a Gaggle and foliage from Gift from a Loved One, the hues of green in this and trees match so well.

Below a fairly CAS design by comparison using Poinsettia and Christmas Decor cut four times and arranged around a pretty old Penny Black sentiment.

Whatever your weekend holds, I hope it's a good one, we're in London at one of our son's, the improvement is mobility since my spinal procedure is opening up options closed in recent months.

Winter Robin

Morning Peeps, thank goodness lots of animals make sure we are early risers as I did a final check on the mid month posts at We Love Stamping and Stamping Sensations which I had scheduled earlier in the week, then it suddenly dawned on me I hadn't done one on my own blog........

So rather hurriedly here are my shares following the Christmas themes, both challenges run until Wednesday 30th November so plenty of time to join in or if you've already done so, add a second of third entry for a chance to win one of the great prizes on offer.

At the top AALL and Create Jolly Elements, Robin and Nuthatch and Seasons onto a splodgy acetate inky background and some stencilling using the same Oxide colours.

My second share uses an oldish Penny Black image, stamped twice to extend the scene, sponged oxides and two small birdies from A&C Pheasant. I added a little purple sparkle to them but not sure it exactly works, but there you go! The sentiment is from one of my own recent Create and Craft TV releases called Christmas Season, this is probably one of my favourites on this set.

Sent with Love

Morning Peeps, Saturday and a new challenge at Allsorts with the theme of 'A/G with the option of number/s' selected by Lorraine. Stamp Addicts are offering the lucky winner a £15 store voucher, they are on Create and Craft at 5pm tomorrow.

Two of today's samples feature stamps in today's One Day Special on Create and Craft TV from AALL and Create, as always beautiful new images and I have quite a few more samples to share as I managed to create several before I went into hospital this week.

Above a brayered background stamped with For the Love of Numbers, then the beautiful Rose from Sent with Love, coloured and paper pieced, some pieces of net sources from the greenhouse, two sentiments from the same set, wording also from the same set in the background and two of the circled Roses from Rose Background cut out and covered with Glossy Accents.

With luck I might just squeeze into the Playground with the above card, snippets used for the paper pieced Rose, little circles and sentiment, my use of snippets might be a bit off beat but they are genuine pieces I keep in a rack for this very purpose.

My second share was for last months Stamp Addict Create and Craft TV shows, these lovely new Judikins stamps called Window to your Soul featured and I have used sets one and two above. The images stamped with Versafine onto a Gelli Plate background, a little colour added, white highlight and liquid pearls.

I have another sample using the new A&C release, this time a scene featuring the Heron snd Blousy Blossoms sets. I started with a background created with a mixture of Oxides and Pan Pastels, used a piece of acetate to get a water reflection of the two smaller Herons, stamped them again above, the large Heron, Bullrushes and for the sun I used the protractor shape stamped into one corner. Three of the words and finito.

Happy weekend and thanks as always for your kind visits and words of encouragement.

Christmas wreaths

Good morning Peeps, the first Sunday of the month which means time for our November challenges at We Love Stamping and Stamping Sensations  where the themes at both just happen to be Christmas related. Two prizes at both, at WLS a collection of Christmas papers, stamps and embellishments and at the other two Christmas themed stamps kindly donated by a regular entrant.

I'm going to be MIA for part of this week, going into hospital for a spinal procedure, re-scheduled from a couple of weeks ago when they cancelled it as I had a tooth infection and on antibiotics, most annoying as I had planned around those dates, but c'est la vie.

It seems both my DT pieces are based on a wreath style, I only realised when I uploaded to write this post, but I do so love a floral/leafy wreath so enjoyed making both of them.

The top one was created with elements from AALL and Create Pinecone, Foliage, Papaver Poppies, Robin and Nuthatch and Seasons, Versafine Clair inks, some twigs from the garden and little bell embellishments and matching envie.

This one is all Lavinia, various stamps and Versafine Clair to create the circle, Pan Pastel to create the sky and ground the Stag and again a matching envie.

I do hope you will join us this month, I am sure there is lots of Christmas card making going on right now.

And as always it seems a little belatedly, the card I sent to Dee in Kenya as part of the October Card Chain Challenge, I have one on the way from Mia in Greece but we all know what the postal system is like recently don't we! The photo is a little blurry as I can't find my original photo so had to lift this from the CCC blog, but the card is all Lavinia following the months colour palette plus Fantasy.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Sparkle

Morning Peeps, it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts  and this week Mervi would like to see some 'Sparkle and Shine', there's a super prize of a Rare Earth A4 stamp set.

I also have some shares using the new Touched by the Rain collection which is available on the Highlight Crafts website from today.

My sparkle comes in the form of Fairy Wings using the larger Lavinia Mae, she's such a pretty image sitting amid the floral blooms. A masked piece of card, stencilling  and the image stamped and some colour added and an envie to match.

Touched by the Rain samples and if I have tempted you to buy a few of these or previous releases (all come individually as well as in collections) you will get an extra 10% discount using BRENDA10 at checkout.

Happy weekend to you all and thanks as always for your kind visits.
