Jab or no jab, that's the question

Morning Peeps, another roller coaster week with my MS but then the promise of a COVID vaccine really lightened my spirits, or did it?

Hubby was invited last week which surprised us as it seemed ahead of the vulnerable grouping where I sit, he had the Pfizer one. My invite arrived four days later, excitedly I arrived and told they had moved to the Astra Zeneca one which is not suited to immune compromised patients. Seems the NHS generate numbers not patients and without knowledge of specific medical issues until you arrive. So I was dispatched without the jab and horrified to learn it's recorded as a 'decline' and their system has no facility to put people back into it.

Spend hours on the phone going round in circles, GP surgery unable to help as it's all done via NHS direct. So decided to put my thoughts in a mail to my GP, nothing to lose really. The result, a swift call from him followed by one from a doctor at the vaccine centre who said a delivery of the Pfizer one was going to my local vaccine hub this week, would 8.30am OK? Yes absolutely fine thank you, persistence pays off and I'm counting the hours till I go.

So now for our new Allsorts challenge where Mervi is our host with the theme of 'Four Legged Friends'. This weeks winner will receive two Woodware stamps from Craft Stash.

If you live in the Country as we do, then it's not usual to see rabbits and hares in the garden and paddocks so to me they are all classed as 'friends', even if the dogs are not so keen some days and try to give chase........fortunately they are much quicker than the dogs!

An Oxide background, all tamps are Lavinia, Versfaine onyx black stamping and that's about it, my garden friends with a bit of fantasy thrown in for good measure.

Beautiful Blooms and looking for pen suggestions

Morning Peeps, it's my turn to host our new challenge at Allsorts and in true transparent fashion my theme is 'Beautiful Blooms'........well don't we all love our flowers and they do lift our spirits. There is a gorgeous A3 stamp set from Rare Earth for the lucky winner.

A card not unlike a Hochanda TV sample in my post earlier in the week which has a YouTube video where I list the stamps used, this one in shades of blue and purple as it was for a friends Birthday using colours I know she is keen on. The stamps are all Chocolate Baroque, an Oxide and stencilled background, an index clip, washi tape and a die cut 'smile'.

And because it's flowers this week, here's another one that was sitting in my folders, this time an Inkylicious sentiment and Penny Black blossom image inked direct to stamp with Distress Markers.......they have been discontinued so if anyone has come across waterbased pens with a hardish bullet tip please do let me know........so many now seem to have brush tips aimed at colouring in, including Arteza which I tried but they are just too soft for applying a decent covering of ink to stamps.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Love gives Wings

Time for some mid month inspiration at at We Love Chocolate Baroque and Stamping Sensations where our themes are 'Feminine and 'Favourite Stamps'.

My floral card at the top uses Chocolate Baroque Floral Perfumery, Autumn Poppy and Pretty Poppies and a YouTube video on my channel here.

Unusually for me a fairly CAS creation, but this beautiful PB Orchid really doesn't need anything to distract from it so I simply inked it with Distress Markers and stamped it adding a PB sentiment.

Groovy blooms and another video

Morning Peeps, I hope everyone is keeping safe well........and sane, the latter seems to be a real challenge lately with us all being plunged back into lockdown and uncertainty, not that I've ever really come out of lockdown and shielding since last March. Our youngest son who went down with COVID just before Christmas is on the mend, scary that he's the young fit athlete of the family and it really knocked him for six. My MS is still having a hissy fit so commenting remains short and sweet, it's usually a few weeks before improvement when it sets in.

As it's Saturday it means it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts where our host is Helene and her theme is 'Something New'. Our winner this week will receive a super girly die set from Tattered Lace

My 'new' comes in the form of a recently released floral stamp from Stamp Addicts called Groovy Blooms and is one of my samples for Hochanda TV. Sarah and Vicky have another TV show on Tuesday with some super new Judikins stamps, below is a sneak peek of a couple of the stamps coming up in the show along with the grunge alphabet.

So my top card, after creating an Oxide, acrylic paint and stencilled background, I stamped the blooms and leaves onto some old book pages, cut out and decoupaged, for the stems I used a fine liner to draw them onto the same paper keeping it all a bit random to blend with the style of the blooms. A few pieces of washi tape down the sides and a sentiment stamped into a piece of Aida fixed into place with a small clip.

I also have a post today over at the Chocolate Baroque blog, it features this card which is not unlike one I shared a few weeks ago but this time it has an acrylic background applied with a palette knife to obtain a different look. Also a YouTube video here, I know one of two had already seen it as I inadvertently published the video before scheduling it for the correct date......I was still trying to get to grips with the YouTube system!

These are the fun Judikins Cats which are one of the new stamps featuring in the upcoming Stamp Addicts show, as are the dotty lines and letters.

Happy weekend all and as always, many thanks for your kind visit.

Favourite colours

Morning Peeps, Saturday morning and a new challenge for you at Allsorts, our host is Lynn and her theme is 'Favourite Colours', Clare from Pinksy Doodles is our sponsor. Been slow going this week on the blogging front, a bit of an MS flare up and bits of me don't want to work as they should, not least my arms and fingers so typings a bit of a nightmare.

I love all colour so have gone with a couple of favourite combinations and have two shares.....well three actually as there are two takes of the tag for the purpose of creating a YouTube video here for the tag above using Clare's new Wild Rose image and one of the Inspirational Sentiments I compiled for her.

My second creation uses quite a few of Clare's images, Dogwood, Robin, Butterflies, Heart Flower and Inspirational Sentiments again creating a little tri-fold card, background of oxides and stencilling.

Above the complete piece showing all five panels and below a closer looks at some of them.

This was the original tag......

Rather belatedly heres' my share from my post earlier in the week at Chocolate Baroque DT blog, details of stamps etc., here.

Have a good weekend all.

Dragonfly Art

Our first monthly challenges of 2021 start today at We Love Chocolate Baroque and Stamping Sensations where our themes are 'Feminine and 'Favourite Stamps'.

My top card uses the new Dragonfly Collage along with a few other stamps from Just Useful all of which form part of tomorrows One Day Special on Hochanda starting at 6pm GMT. I have a YouTube video on my channel making this card, direct link here.

My Stamping Sensations share uses a favourite Butterfly stamp which comes in the form of Penny Black Soft Wings, an oxide inky background in one of my favourite colour palettes of green and blue.........a combination which according to my Gran "should never be seen", but I beg to differ.

Dream it.......

Morning Peeps, time flies it seems as it's our first challenge of the New Year at Allsorts. Our host this week is Ellie and to get things going we have a nice and simple Anything Goes theme. This weeks winner will receive a lovely stamp from Chocolate Baroque who have a One Day Special on Hochanda TV on Monday, the first show is at 6pm. All stamps in the show are new ones (I'll have a sneak preview tomorrow)

My card at the top used several CB stamp sets including Silhouette Grasses, and Wisteria Lane and background of Pan Pastels.

My second card uses CB Wild Cornflower Blueprint, inked direct to stamp with Distress Markers and some stencilled circles.

Have a good weekend.
