Touch of Vintage and another Craftalong

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts where our host is Lynn with the perfect theme to get inky, 'Make your Own Background'. Our lucky winner will receive four stencils from Crafty Devils.

I also have news of the next Craftalong show on Hochanda on 17th November when Lesley of Chocolate Baroque will be creating a Journal, the kits went on sale a couple of day's ago here so you can order yours now so you are all ready to craftalong with her. I was chuffed to bits to be asked to make the samples using the kit for the Hochanda promotional video so will share a couple today and some more next week.

The focus is very much Vintage, a lovely set of stamps which work well together or with your other stamps so very versatile, the journal is also included in the kit as well as a Gelli Plate, various cardstock, a brayer and other bits and pieces, you can see everything here

Back to my Allsorts shares and the one at the top of this post was made during the Summer for a Stamp Addicts Hochanda show which featured inchies and twinchies along with the lovely Muse image which is part of a set as were the music ones which included Mozart which I shared a couple of weeks ago.

I used a Tim Holtz die to cut out the corners, then stamped randomly with the script stamp that was also in the show and grunged it up a bit with DI's. I inked the twinchies with Oxides then stamped a variety of the stamps onto them, inked with Versamak and added UTEE, I did this process three times to give a nice smooth glazed finish then mounted them onto the base.

This was another Hochanda sample, this time for one of Pete's Artisan Design shows. An Oxide background, a large circle and small dots stencils, also from Pete and finally I stamped the large Rose  from Kelley's Garden collection and coloured in with pencils. The sentiment if from the leaf set which is in the same collection.

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend and find some crafty time.

Better late than never, or so they say!

Morning all and I need to start with an explanation to my teamies at Allsorts where Ellie is our host this week as well as those at Penny Black and More, Stamping Sensations and Chocolate Baroque

I had scheduled the mid way posts at PB&M and SS as well as my CB one for yesterday, but alas I didn't get as far as my own blog as I've been back and forth to doctors and hospital all week and the promise of more of the same next week. So this post is something of a cobble up of everything and I will keep the blurb shorty and sweet.

The tag at the top is one of my Chocolate Baroque pieces as is the orange and teal one at the bottom on the post.

This is my Allsorts creation for Ellie's 'Add a touch of gold or silver' theme where the prize is an A4 stamp sheet from Rare Earth. This was a Stamp Addicts sample for a recent Hochanda show.

More Autumnal leaves and colours at Stamping Sensations using all Penny Black stamps.

Have a good weekend everyone and I might even get time in mine to get some blog visiting done!

Day is over, night has come

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts where our host is Kath who is going all dotty this week with the theme of 'Spots and Stripes'. Our lucky winner will receive a lovely Woodware stamp and sentiment from Craft Stash.

I used a stencil and Pan Pastels to create the spots simply and dots, stamped Lavinia Fairies and Poppies using Versafine Clair, a sentiment which is also Lavinia and matted onto some coordinating DP and black base card. Simples!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Flowers and Autumn leaves

It's time for our  new challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'Trees and/or Leaves' and 'Pretty in Pink' as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both. Further down you will also find my Chocolate Baroque shares from my post over on the DT blog.

I've seen the above background technique used a few times recently so thought I would give it a go. I used linen card and scored the lines then dragged two colours of distress ink down the card in the same direction as the grooves. Next I stamped the Penny Black blossoms inking direct to stamp and then the sentiment using a grey ink rather than black to achieve a softer look.

The above is a rather last minute make for this Thursday's Stamp Addicts show on Hochanda, the stamps really are hot of the press and only arrived with me a couple of days ago, but as Stamp Addicts are our sponsor at Stamping Sensations this month I obviously wanted to make one of my samples Autumnal to fit with the theme. The image is a new one from Teri Sherman and although I'm not into colouring I did rather enjoy using this one. It's a small canvas covered with acrylic paint, the image stamped and coloured in with a mixture of mediums, leaves stencilled with texture paste, chipboard leaves and toadstools and a computer generated piece of poetry. There are some lovely new stamps in the show including a beautiful winter scene perfect for Christmas cards so make a note ti tune in.

Some Fairy magic for my second (original) Stamping Sensations share, a distress ink background using a torn paper and masks, stamped the Lavinia Fairy, Trees, Ivy and sentiment with Versafine Clair, then the flowers in the foreground using Versamark and heat embossed with some orange EP. Finally some liquid pearls around the Ivy.

Lesley launched lots of new stamps in the September Hochanda shows and these are a few of my samples I created for the shows which I also shared on the Chocolate Baroque blog yesterday, the new stamp sets are: Happy Flowers DayCelebration BouquetFiligree Trading Hearts and Geometric Trading Hearts

Details of what I used on each sample are the the blog link above.

I do hope you will come and joining in our challenges this month.

Punky flowers

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts where our host is Wendy who would like us to use some 'Ribbon' on your creations. This weeks lucky winner will receive a bundle of assorted ribbons from Crafty Ribbons.

My shares are two Hochanda TV shares from earlier in the year but not blogged so today's challenge seems the perfect time. Ribbon is not something I use on my Chocolate Baroque samples very often as the stamps are so detailed and beautiful it's a shame to detract from them, so these are an exception.

The background of the tri-fold has a mixture of distress inks, texture paste and stencilling and the flowers from Punky Hearts and Punky Flower sets have been stamped, coloured and cut out to add to the frames.

The same Roses here, this time stamped three times onto a stencilled background, coloured in and a sentiment tied with ribbon.

Hope you all have a good weekend and my thanks as always for taking the time to visit.
