Penny Black challenge

The Penny Black challenge follows the patriotic theme Red White and Blue in honor of the "Stars and Stripes". I confess I find this a difficult colour combo to work so took a piece of Basic Grey DP with these three colours as the basis of my card and worked from there. Having completed the card I'm not particularly happy with it, but hubby likes it and as he tends to be my main critic I'll stick with it.

My image is Penny Black 3633K stamped with versafine black and embossed with detail clear. The flowers have been filled in with red sticklers and mounted white onto white pearlescent card. The greeting down the side has been created with punched circles and flowers from the same DP and stamped with a set of letters which I'm afraid I do not have a source name for. Red ribbon, a ladybird which I thought just matched, a button and a corner cut from Cricut Jasmine which I heat embossed with iridescent powder.

very pretty! I have struggled with these colours too a couple of weeks ago on Passion for Promarkers challenge.

Great card, lovely to see a red/white/blue colour combo that isn't patriotic.

Brenda you have the best Penny Black images, I seem to struggle with stamping just a flower, you always make it look so beautiful, I love it.

It's a good job we have a good critic in the house isn't it Brenda. Your Hubby is definitely right. This is really lovely. I especially like the circle with your greeting in. They are just a bit different and work so well with the flowers.
