Allsorts challenge 13

On to week 13 at Allsorts - and everything going to plan, we are in Roma, the eternal City, oh I do so love it, probably my favourite destination of the whole itinerary and even if I have been many time before never tire of Il colosseo's magnificence - if you stand quietly you can almost smell the carnage and hear the crys of gladiators falling to their demise........sorry, getting carried away here.......gosh I do hope Bloggers not playing up while I'm away otherwise I'll come back to some real unhappy bunnies at Allsorts.

The challenge this week has been set by Gro who asks us think Vintage, a style I love so really enjoyed making my DT card for this one.......well enjoy them all really, but I always feel comfy with vintage and love all the techniques to get the aged feel.

My main image is Hampton Arts DF4513 stamped with versfaine sepia onto linen cardstock and embossed with detail clear. I stamped her hat a second time and decoupaged it adding a little colour to the flower. I roughed up the edges, stamped Magenta 32090 randomly with Tim Holtz spiced marmalade, the dusted the edges with versamark and added some detail gold embossing powder.
The ripped background paper is a piece of copier paper scrunched, inked over with TH antique linen and spiced marmalade, them again with versamark and embossed with detail gold, then to add a bit of glitz a spray of gold Glimmer Mist. Added a piece of lace down the side and some gold roses and cord round the image Christine style, thanks for the inspiration Chris. The words are some unmounted stamps from Stampsmith.

Rosie Deeds challenge 46

Today's post comes courtesy of Mr (schedule) Blogger all the way from Florence........the wonders of modern technology.......just hope all of this technology is actually working.

There has been a great sketch to follow at Rosie Dees challenge this week and today the DT can share their cards with you all. For mine I decided to go monochrome using some of my favourite My Minds Eye DP's. My main image is - wait for it ........yes - drum roll - it's Agapanthus Cluster, Stampendous P107 !!

Honest, I do have hundreds of stamps, I just love this one, it lends itself to so many styles. This time I have stamped in versafine back and embossed with detail clear and highlighted the agapanthus heads with crystal Stickles. The mats have been cut with Nesties on the Bug and the raised flower cut on Cricut storybook.

More fairies

As we head towards Florence another fairy card using my new Lavinia stamps - link in my last post. It's years since we went to Florence so really looking forward to it and soaking up the history and atmosphere that drew so many artists over the years and a trip of course to the Piazza della Signoria with its copy of Michelangelo's David.

The background for this card is one my my nice messy techniques using Tim Holts inks onto a glossy cardstock, adding some Krylon gold. The image is stamped with versafine black and embossed with detail clear. The card itself has been stamped with the tiny toadstools and a small fairy stamp embossed with detail gold. The embelli in the corner some gold swirls and three leaves stamped onto shrink plastic which I coloured before cutting out and shrinking.

By the magic of Mr Blogger

Now we know I'm not officially here, we are hopefully on our way from Gibraltar to Cannes to see how the other half live ........ Gib's not the most exciting of places, but it does have cheap perfumes, alcohol and other duty free goodies plus a M&S so can't be all bad and of course not forgetting those 'b' monkeys ......... but I for one will be giving them a miss as usual........just not an animal I can warm to.

I determined to try and make up some cards to schedule posting so as to keep my blog active whilst way so by the magic of Mr Blogger I am going to share some fantasy cards with you for a couples of days. The stamps are new stash from Lavinia stamps, all very me and which I found courtesy of Jules do check our her blog, her style is fab.
I created the background for this one using brayering, stamped the fairy very simple with vermafine black end embossed with detail clear. The little toadstools are also a Lavinia stamp and the leaves at the top and birds are Art Impressions stamped with Brilliance. The large leaves were cut with my new L-Em.com punch available from Sir Stampalot, scalloped border with Martha Stewart doily lace punch and flowers, gems and liquid pearls added to finish.

Allsorts challenge 12

Week twelve at Allsorts and when you read this I should be somewhere in the Solent headed for the Bay of Biscay - gosh I do hope the weather is kind because it can rock and roll a bit out there at times. Although I won't be able to blog for the next couple of weeks.....laptop strictly prohibited apparently - can't people be spoilers...... I have schedule several posts so my blog doesn't go into complete hibernation.......all I need is the support of Mr Blogger and all should go according to plan.

This week is Lisa's theme and she challenges you to use 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 ribbon, plus image and sentiment. This was a really nice one to work with even if I did forget the ribbon initially so improvised and changed the butterflies thorax from gems to ribbon........why not I thought, I do live in a fantasy world most of the time.

My main image is ........OK I know, but had to use it before I left otherwise I might get withdrawal symptoms ....... yes Stampendous P107 (how sad is this I don't even have to check the side of the stamp for codes any more) stamped with versamark and embossed with detail copper. The DP is My Minds Eye and I have cut the circles using Nesties through the Bug. The three tiny flowers were cut with a punch and lightly shaded round the edges with Brilliance copper and the butterfly cut with the lovely XCut punch, all from the same DP. The greeting is one I adore from Hobby Arts GR1353DD stamped and embossed with the same materials as the image. Gems added to the flowers and I explained the butterflies thorax earlier.

Rosie dees challenge week 45

Another great week at Rosie Dee's challenge, it's been great blog hopping to look at all your creations for our Sympathy/Thinking of You theme. Here's the full reveal of my DT card.

I have kept it very simple and light. The main image is Magenta41017.K, stamped and embossed with versafine black ad clear embossing powder onto a Glimmer Misted background of lemon zest and pearl. I stamped a second time using black stayzon onto acetate, cut out the two large flowers and butterfly, glittered the back and decoupaged. The DP is Basig Grey, some black pearls added and lines scored around the base card to add definition.
