We have a new challenge starting today over at FlonzCraft Vintage Stamping Challenges, this month our theme is 'Splatters and Drips'. As always there is a very generous $20 voucher to be won from FlonzCraft.
Brushos came immediately to mind for this theme so I started with using Crimson and Lime Green and lots of water to create a background, I still find it such fun how many other colours creep out the more water you add. I let the wet colours drain down the card as I held it an an angle and quite like the softer hues that I ended up with.
Next I stamped Flonz Blossom across the top and heat embossed with detail cloear powder, bleached out the colour and then painted with the same Brusho's, then stamped and embossed Flonz Grasses along the bottom. Then I stamped the Flonz Butterflies onto he offcuts of card and painted, again with the same two Brusho's and loved the extra colours that came through without even trying.
The sentiment and raindrops are Inkylicious, I also beached out the latter before highlighting with a white pen .
I would also like to enter this into the current Butterfly Challenge (and the Playground if I'm allowed -see below) which is 'U' for undulating along with the butterflie's, now I will confess I checked this out in the thesaurus to see if my interpretation of the word correlated and this is what it told me 'move with a smooth wave like motion'. Well I figure that sums up Butterflies quite well, so hopefully this will fit the theme.
Just amending my post and adding this as I totally forgot when posting earlier. But I just can't miss popping over the the Snippets Playground today because when I was lurking about behind the bike shed earlier............as you do.......... I heard a rumor that there is going to be plenty of hooch to be had up in the tree house after dark and no way am I missing out on that one, so see the rest of you obstreperous gang there.
The wall hanging is another of my Tattered Lace creations, I picked up the chipboard heart and base at the NEC last November and decided to have a play with the pretty bits and pieces of paper which came from a 12x12 pad ages ago. No idea of the make as what you see what literally all that was left but just proves never throw them away as they come is useful at some point.
I painted the chipboard with gesso and then stuck down the paper and lightly inked the edges. The flowers are cut and embossed with one of the Trio sets and along with the butterfly are made from the offcuts. Leaves are also Trios, cut from oddments of coredinations and sanded down.
I just had another thought.......two in one afternoon is a bit scary, but it just occurred to me that the butterflies on the card at the top were made from offcuts of the lightweight Fabriano, at the cost of it I never throw a bit away. So assuming I am allowed two entries entering this one as well.

Ok. You've sold me. Brushos are going on the list. My bank manager will be in touch with a complaint, lol.

Hi Brenda,
what a brilliant card, and such a lovely design.
Your brusho background is fab, and the colours are super.
Thank you for joining the Butterfly Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. GD
Beautiful butterflies and I love the drops on this creation.
Blessings, Elly
Fabulous card and you have colored it so beautifully.
Awesome!! stunning colours and stamps.
I just love these colurs that you have created from the brushos. Really must get mine out and have a good play.
I need to buy some watercolor paper as I have run out. If you were to draw a line underneath and follow the outline of your raindrops you'd also see that they could be described as undulating so your card very much fits my challenge. I'm so glad that everyone is thinking outside of the bo with this one. I love those butterfly colours too. Thankyou for fluttering by. Hugs Mrs A.
So absolutely gorgeous! I love the butterflies and raindrops...so beautiful. The soft colors you created are so very pretty too. Hugs, Robin
A fabulous card - I love your background, the colours really set off the butterflies.

Interesting that your cards use the same colors, but with different intensity and hues! I'm in love with the first rainbow card, Brenda. Beautiful, oh so beautiful! I'm also very happy for you! TWO (count them, TWO) thoughts in a single afternoon! Wish I could claim that! LOL and what GOOD thoughts they were, too! Hopefully you know I am jesting. The butterflies in both creations are not only delighted with their habitation, but are also thankful for their colors and textures! Lovely and peaceful, Brenda. Hugs, de
Both creations are awesome Brenda!! Love the colors you have used!! Beautiful!!

Two lovely makes Brenda. I like what you've achieved with just the two brusho colours. Wish I could manage that.

Brenda this is beautiful, your colours are amazing and the effect stunning, I so love this card. Your wall hanger is very pretty too! Jx
Your background is perfect, not too vivid, and the addition of the raindrops is visually pleasing as well as illustrating the quote. The floating butterfly finish it beautifully. Glad you enjoyed the theme. xx
Lovely post today Brenda and two gorgeous creations. have to say I'm feeling a bit peeved that you can't remember what those papers are as I have them in a 6x6 pad and thought - oh Brenda will say what they are I'll get them out again 'cos they're so pretty - well that didn't happen lol hugs judith xx ..... could be First Edition something or another.....
Two beautiful creations Brenda I especially love that first one those raindrops look so real, superb

Both are so pretty Brenda, but today I have a real favourite in the first one, - those raindrops look fantastic!!
These are lovely Brenda, pleased to see you made them before the "hooch"...that could be an interesting result!! xx
Two beautiful creations Brenda. Lovely colours and design on the first one. Lovely stamps too. The wall hanger is lovely too, very nice pastel colours, makes me think of Spring. hugs, Marlies
Wow an amazing card. You've got such wonderful colours with the brushos. It looks really fun to try.
Totally love the background on the first card and the Butterfly's are some of the best I have seen.
Kath x
Wow, Brenda! What stunning creations! I love them both! The brusho on the top card is so subtle and perfectly done! I feel like I could do with some hooch to get me through the next two weeks, so I will try my best to make it to the playground this week too!
two beauties Brenda - I especially adore the first one - right up my street - perfectly balanced composition and colour - love it x
Such a stunning card Brenda. The colours are beautiful as are your butterflies and I love the rain drops. A gorgeous wall hanging also.
Have a lovely week.
Hugs Sharon. x
Morning Brenda, the butterfly card is stunning, love how colourful it is and it's raining, I have the raindrop set, guilty as charged, never got round to using it yet lol! Love the scrap hanger, I'm a hoarder of scrap, just can't through the pieces away! Carol xx
A gorgeous, colourful card Brenda love the combination of colours you have used.
Lorraine
Double WOW from me Brenda! Gosh I adore your butterfly card (I still peek in fear at my Brushos!) and the wall hanger is just gorgeous! Both absolutely beautiful - and you can enter up to three entries in a week, with no restriction on how many other challenges you might enter. No wonder there's anarchy brewing along with the hooch in the Playground - too few rools equals total mayhem! :)
Hugs

Hello Brenda
Gorgeous card and wall hanging. I love butterflies, they are so delicate and colourful and always make me smile. I have several Buddleia bushes in my garden and love to watch the butterflies coming and going during the summer.
Take care
Lesley
Awesome, 2 awesomes in fact! And snippety cards at that. Of course I love the brusho background. Those colors worked so beautifully together to create such a serene background for the lovely stamping. The raindrops look just too real in this created garden with the butterflies. Mrs. A & Pixie will love it! The hanger was wonderful too, and enjoyed reading about the rescued bits & pieces you've salvaged to create such a sweet look to enjoy for all spring. TS & Hugs (and watch out for the Hootch - things could get really lively.)
Both are gorgeous! The card sentiment made me smile. It rains constantly all winter in the Vancouver area. We are in a rainforest so that is appropriate, I guess. I will apply that sentiment to my dismay when I look out at the rain! Should help!
The wallhanging is very pretty. Had to google Fabriano to get your comment! lol
Two gorgeous cards Brenda. Really loving the first one.

Two fab cards. I love the dimension on the first one - I've got a raindrop stamp so might get around to entering this one.
I think you do need a gelli plate - I've just got the 6x6 and it is fine for me.

Just back from the UK Brenda after having a super time with the grandkids, Alex has just turned 16. The first few months of the New Year are busy times for me going backwards and forwards to the UK. Amber will be 18 in March!!!
Thank you for being such a trooper at VSC.
Another brilliant masterpiece with another super tone on tone colour scheme. The Brushos and droplets are just the bees knees. Love it
