Brayering demo work

Hello peeps, I thought I would share some of the work I did at my Stampalot demo on Good Friday.

So many people tell me they have a brayer, but never or rarely use it because things never turn out right. As with all things it's practice, but having the right products are so important. Time and again I find it's not the persons ability to brayer that's a problem, but what they are using and cardstock is the biggest culprit and with only the odd exception you need a coated cardstock, silk or gloss finish like this or this. And I can't recommend the good old Speedball brayer enough, along with Adirondack dye inkpads and Big and Juicy.

Fairly straightforward masking, brayering and stamping with a whole host of Art Impression stamps. I won't bore you and list them all out, but if you want to know the codes of any specifics please do drop me a mail.

In case nobody realised........as if, I'm so obvious.........I have a thing for creating little scenes and masking and stamping into apertures.........I know it might be a bit monotonous but I kind of think it sets the scene off so well.

So those of you who are 'closet brayerers', dust them down and have a go, it's such a rewarding form of crafting.

I have a brayer and have to admit it is seldom used!
hope your feeling ok, the lovely weather is so spirit lifting but I bet your hubby would like some rain for the fields.

Stunning cards Brenda. I love your little scenes. I certainly never tire of them, they're all so different and gorgeous. I think a brayer is the one thing I haven't got lying neglected in a drawer. But I have thought of buying one before now lol!

Take care,

I love these rural scenes - I rarely watch C&C but was glued to it yesterday thanks to your advice about the timing. Only when I saw the individual stamps did I realize that you were creating the scenes & that the scene wasn't one complete stamp. Your links to cardstock are very helpful here as is you Stampscapes link in the sidebar.
As to your samples above I love the cobbled stones in the first & the effectiveness of your apertures. I love the way the leaves hang down with the lighthouse as if you are looking through a window - the "ironmongery" corners are a lovely touch. I seem to be writing an essay so had better close - you've given me much to think about with your posts over the last few days.
Much love & thanks

These are just beautiful Brenda - Love them all and have never tried brayering. Really love the church scene, it reminds me of holidays in Dorset. Love the way you've captured the sky light in all your cards and the tones of that colour...just perfect. Hugs, Teresa xx

So beautiful! Breathtaking actually! I really must learn to use a brayer, if my end result could be half as nice as yours I'd be pleased.
