Bloggers lost the plot

Oh my goodness, the weekend just disappeared and apart from the footie.......best forget that one and look forward to Friday, for the sake of Robert Green if nobody else....I got very little done.

Yesterday was spent trying to resolve my blogger problems but I'm still no further forward. For the last week or so I have needed to sign in to every blog I visit, that's a pain in itself and then the last few days my dashboard is only showing up the odd new post, so the only way I have been able to visit people is by literally trawling round and that's very much trial and error who I stumble across.

I thought the answer would be to change to the new Blogger layout that's being pushed our way.........was that a nightmare or what and at one point I lost my blog completely and the backup I had stored was not recognised. Somehow I retrieved it, but now I have a problem with my old sidebar which has embedded itself into the html and no longer visible so I can't remove it and it overrides the new layout so new and old merge and look a right mess. So I am back to the old layout and doing everything the hard way still. A glass of something strong in on the cards before I have another bash at it....I know it's only lunchtime, but needs must.

Two cards to share today, the first one above is using one of my new Penny Black slapstick stamps, I so love these little girl images. This one is Penny Black 40-024 rain or shine stamped with versafine black and embossed with detail clear and coloured with copics and decoupaged with three layers. The DP is October Afternoon, the flower and gem leaves are Magnolia and the swirls Marianne Designs. This card is for the following challenges:

Pile It On "Summer Showers
Penny Black Saturday - Sketch
Our Creative Corner - "Gotcha Cornered"
Ooh La La Creations - "Flourishes and pearls"

For my second card I have used another stamp from Penny Black 3932K Japanese maple for the main image and 3857H footnote down the side of the card. The background for the main image was created by masking lines across the card and round the border, then sponging Tim Holtz bundled sage and tumbled glass and liberally spritzing with Glimmer Mist pearl to subdue the colours and blend them.

I removed the diagonal masks but not the border ones before stamping the leaf image using Versafine majestic blue and embossing with iridescent powder. After embossing I removed the border masks to reveal a white border. Eyelets and cord threaded down the side and a sentiment PB 3419D to finish. This card is for the following challenges:

Cupcake - "One for the Boys"
Rosie D's "Blue and or Fish"

Back to the other man in my life now, Mr Blogger and see if I can tame him into submission, otherwise my blog may be heading south quicker than I hoped.

Love both your cards. I could have done with that lovely umbrella here this morning, the weather was awful again but the sun's out now, hurray.
Those flowers are gorgeous.
Your second one is stunning. I love the background, those colours work so well together.

Sorry to hear you've had such problems with Mr Blogger.

Love your two cards. The first one is so bright and cheery despite the windy day it depicts. Love the masking on your second one x

Beautiful cards Brenda - a lovely image on the 1st one and I like the background you've created on the 2nd one! If it's any consolation I'm having some problems commenting too - after I've visited so many blogs the rest just won't load up - don't know if it's blogger, server or computer - it's all very frustrating though! As I'm typing this the loading bar on the bottom is only half way across and stuck there so you might not even get this message!

Love Lynda xxx

Two great cards. Both very different. Fab news about the Penny Black and Allsorts Challenge.
I looked at changing my blog to the new layouts but maybe I will hold off doing if you have had so many problems. See you soon Nicky xx

Two great cards Brenda. Not sure which is my favourite. Love the colours in the first one and the second is very elegant.

I didn't have problems with blogger yesterday but Mr Linky had disappeared at both of my DT blogs so I couldn't comment.

Not sure if this is just me but as I write here the comment box and other people's comments look as if they are covered with something that looks like fish skeletons!!!

Oh Brenda = what's happening. Blogger decided to changge settings on me too - half way through commenting on a blog that alrady was having problems. I'm resisting changing to the new blogger layouts as you're not the only one to be havin g problems. All I can see on here is a lovely pink background with red poppies. It's right across the screen so I can barely read your post.
Your cards are lovely by the way - especially the second as it's using an image I've been wanting for quite some time and not been able to get hold of.
Hope blog problems sorted for you soon.
Beryl xx

Beryl said...

Me again - as I clicked to post my comment all the poppies disappeard and theres now a serene pink background - allowing me to read how you made the maple leaf card.

Yep, having the same sign-in issue, especially annoying if you're in several DT-s and need to comment on entries...grrrrr. But it's not ALL the time I have that issue and I've noticed that sometimes actually going to a dashboard and just randomly surfing "the backstage" of your blog helps. No idea how.
Gorgeous card, of course I'm simply in love with the first one with it's fabulous colours!

Your card is gorgeous Brenda, love this image. I've also been having blogger issues. The other day it deleted my challenges on my sidebar, the fact that I had nearly 150! Was a killer having to redo. I'm also having to have to sign into some blogs as well this evening so fingers crossed its sorted soon!

HI Brenda,
Love the cards - both of them. Fab image for the first one, great colours and love the flourishes and pearls. Thanks for joining us at OLL this time.
Just a thought - have you checked all of your "gadgets" to make sure there is not one with HTML in which will override others - this happened to me and I thought I'd lost everything as I only had my header appearing - went through every single "gadget" and found the "mole" - might be worth looking at - it is usually something really simple that b*******rs everything up!!
Hope you get it all sorted.
Hugs
