Easter bunny basket

This one seems to have taken me forever, spent ages on the DS trying to create the basket with a variety of Cricut cartridges. It's not quite what I had in mind shape wise, but I've faffed enough for one day I think.

The Crate Paper DP is more of the new stock at Sir Stampalot which seems to be walking out of the door quicker than it arrives. Not surprising because it really is yummy, the colours are beautiful, it's double sided and the texture lovely.

I stamped Penny Black 3868J Portraits onto some of the patterned side, cut them out and stuck to the plain panels, the cut out some of the butterflies on the patterned side and decoupaged them adding some glitter. I created the handle using Martha Steward eyelet lace and attached with brads and flowers cut with a stencil through the Big Shot and ribbon on the corners.

My basket fits two challenges Stamping for the Weekend and Everybody Art Challenge who both have the theme Easter.

Papaer Makup challenge

Beautiful weather and visitors all weekend has kept me from my craft room, but we have to make the most of the sun and warmth when it arrives as we all know in the UK, tomorrow might be sub zero.

I did get round to one card thought for this weeks PMS challenge where they have the theme "Any Winged Thing" and as they are also highlighting awareness of Alzheimer's, I felt this PMS sentiment was very appropriate.

My DP is some of the new double sided My Minds Eye from Sir Stampalot, the leaves embossed with turquoise powder to match are from Hero CL338 and the butterfly Creative Stamping HH269F has been glittered.

Dragonsdream challenge

I didn't plan another one today, but one blog led to another and then to this, a new challenge called Dragonsdream Tag It On which is all about tags and this week "fairies at the bottom of the garden". Right up my street and I just happen to have a piece I created a few weeks ago which I never found a home for, so here it is.

Quite a lot going on here, background sprayed with GM's, tea rose to start with over the whole piece, the excess dabbed off with kitchen towel and butterfly and swirl stencils cut on the Cricut with stencil material laid over. Then sprayed again with black cherry and pearl. Stamped with an unknown wood mounted fairy stamp, Hero F4514, PB 3816E and Creative Stamping HH1106B all using versamark and detail silver embossing powder. Finally, I inked the whole piece with versamark and embossed with iridescent powder. Only problem so much glitz difficult to photograph !

Even more flutterbys

Here are some more of my flutterby creations. I invariably stamp the image onto vellum as it takes on it's own shape as it dries and no two are the same. Fantasy Film also works well, although it tends to stay flatter as it dries. I always use Art Institute dries clear glue with the exception of when I want a white finish when I use the dries white version and crystal glitter. I experimented for ages to get a white finish as there is not a 'white' glitter which in my view actually looks white when it's dry. Dries white and crystal glitter does look white when dry as you can see in a couple of the black and white samples here.

Glitter used on all is ultrafine. I tend to stick with four or five favourite stamps which give me an outline that I feel happy with. These are Penny Black 3819D (butterflies with spots) Creative Expression HH269F (large one) Penny Black 3864F (side angle butterfly), Creative Stamping HH1106B (tiny one with central spot). The dragonfly is an unmounted stamp and I'm afraid I don't know the source. All are stamped and glittered twice, joined together with silicone and the anteni made from wire and inserted between the two layers.
