Morning all, mid month time at We Love Stamping and Lynn's theme of Summertime along with gorgeous prizes of Lavinia stamps and Gansai Tambi paints. We also have a new challenge at Allsorts where Val is taking us for a visit to the coast, her them is At the Seaside, our prize is a bundle of beach/sea inspired stamps from Stamp Addicts.
Huge apols for rather short/missing comments the last few days, what started as an innocuous accident turned into two days of absurd NHS activity. Bashed my right thumb in the shower, thumbnail lifted and just attached at top. Nail cut back and dressed at surgery who dispatched me to A&E. Without going into details, three hospitals in a day and eventually 10pm last night a very nice young doctor removed it. Hadn't given credit to just how pivotal thumbs are, or what an impediment when bandaged!
Above it's a warm Summer day and Lavinia's Bron and Quinn are having an in depth Fairy chat in the garden. Quinn is sitting in the Swing Bed surrounded by Vine Branch, Leaf Spray, Field Grass and Bluebell, the background 'rays' created with a piece of cut card and shaped to use as a stencil, sponged (working from bottom to top so you can see where you've inked) with Oxides. Linking to Colour Dare 713 as my colours seem to match the requirement, Friendship at Cardz 4 Galz. and Ellies Garden Party 17.
Another new (to me) Andy Skinner stamp, this time called Our Favourite Place. I kept it fairly simple stamping the image of the little girls and colouring with Zig pens then used Oxides to add background colour and simply framed using dies. There's a beach inspired mood board at Just us Girls.
This one started with a watery inky sky using Oxides, then stamped Penny Black Shaded View and colouring added with Pan Pastels and white gel pen.
The Roses and Lilies which smell Divine still giving a good show....

gorgeous cards and flowers Brenda.........gr karin
Three fabulous cards Brenda and the colours of your flowers are gorgeous! Oh gosh! I bet that was painful with your thumb. Hope it's settled a bit now it's been removed (nail not your thumb!).
That sounds like a really painful incident Brenda, hope your thumb is feeling more comfortable now and not causing you too much inconvenience...we do need thumbs!
A beautiful selection of cards, all very different but equally full of sunshine and summer. Magical fairy scene...they do look as if they're having a chat!, Lovely nostalgic beach scene, that's a gorgeous stamp- reminds me of myself and my sister when we were girls, trips to the beach were few and far between but very treasured memories, The sunset scene on the 3rd is so peaceful- looks a lovely place for a walk .
Your flowers are gorgeous- enjoy them!
xx
Your trio of garden designs creates a lovely progression of mood with the soft rays behind the fairies, the delicate floral panel, and the richly blended Oxide background, and the way you balanced the Lavinia elements across the three pieces gives the whole set a cohesive and enchanting feel.
Ouch to the thumb and nail Brenda glad it is now bandaged hoping it recovers soon and doesn't interfere with your crafting.
Stunning makes again, especially like the PB scene so tranquil.
Your garden is looking very inviting to the wildlife.
Take care Tracey xx
Gorgeous! All of it! Fab cards and Fab photos xxx
LOVE the talking fairies card! And the two girls at the seaside and your scenic Shaded View card are both brilliant.
Lovely garden floral displays too.
OOH OUCH for your poor thumb. That must be SO sore! Can't even imagine. Sending hugs, xxx
Such a pretty card--love the fairies!! Thanks for sharing at Color Dare!
Blogger still playing fast and loose with my list so apologies if I've missed anything. Beautiful projects and the seaside one is quite nostalgic I feel. Sorry to hear you've had a series of hospital visits again - who knew knocking your thumb could cause such mayhem. Hope it recovers very soon.
Three beautiful tranquil summer scenes and fabulous floral pics.Hope your thumb nail regrows quickly
Gorgeous cards Brenda, all so different, but still full of summer vibes.
Hope your thumb is feeling more comfortable after they've removed the nail and dressed it, but I can imagine the bandage will be cumbersome, especially as it's your right hand. Three hospitals in one day must be a record.
Avril xx
Stunning cards Brenda, the first is gorgeous with your fairies and the amazing background, the girls on the beach is so peaceful and beautifully colored, the third card is gorgeous and peaceful, I'd like to be sitting on that bench! Your roses and lilies are beautiful! Wishing you quick healing.
Your cards are all gorgeous Brenda, beautiful garden and seaside themes. And your flowers in the garden are equally gorgeous! My roses have a long way to go to show this many blossoms but even with just a few I really enjoy them.
Finally, so sorry to hear about your thumbnail accident and that it took 3 hospital visits to get it taken care of. Hopefully it will heal very soon. When I deeply cut my thumb on a can (it was a deep downwards cut not straight cut) it took 2 clinic visits, antibiotics and wrapped in bandage for a long time.. also made me realize how important thumbs are!! Still have the scar from that ordeal.
