I spy B, Butterflies and Boots

Morning everyone, I'm starting by apologising I've not visited many of you this week, we had no internet other than a few brief interludes from Sunday till Thursday. Add a poorly dog and trips to Newmarket to the specialist Vet, so not conducive to crafting and blogging.

A new challenge at Allsorts and this week I'm your host and my theme is one I've not used for quite a while "I spy with my little eye something beginning with B' and as usual there's the A/G option. Prizes from Aldridge CraftsStampendous and AALL and Create.

Above my 'B's' come in the form of Butterfly, Brown and 'B'. I do like the size of AALL and Create's border stamps, however, this particular one is part of an A4 stamp set called Thorough the Meadow and currently on offer well below half price at £11.60 (normal price £28.99) as are most of their A4 sets, a lot of stamping for your money! But you'll need to be quick as normal prices are creeping back in.

A stencilled background using A&C Evergreen, the word Butterfly from the same stamp set as the focal element and letters from Garden She Wrote and Grunge Alphabet. The pen nib used for the Butterfly's antenna  were sourced online, a bag of 20 assorted used vintage ones for £8.00.

A second share where it's B for Boots, Bird and Blooms, using more favourites from  AALL and Create, A5 set The Great Outdoors (370) on offer at £7.60,  A4 set Friendship Florals (648) also on offer at £11.60 and Folim stencil (155) along with Ranger Opaque crackle paste.......I  use both the translucent and opaque ones but the latter has to be my favourite. Here I applied the paste to a piece of white 640gsm Fabriano, I know it sound heavy but it takes everything you throw at it without warping. When dry I sprayed with Peeled Pain Oxide spray and did a bit of background stamping before adding the various elements which were all stamped, coloured and cut out. The little heart came from a pack of A&C ephemera.

The new challenge at Path of Positivity has the optional twist of music, no music on either of these so I'll go with Anything Goes and a few positive words and link up my wellie boots, items that are in daily use at the moment with so much rain and the paddocks are like ponds.

Thanks as always for you kind visits and hope you will join us at Allsorts this week.

Lovely cards Brenda, the butterfly looks stunning against the yellows of the background. The textured background looks fabulous on the second card and the colour of the blooms makes them really pop.
Hope your poorly dog is feeling better now.

I'm so sorry your dog isn't doing well, I hope by now he feels better. What a fun theme for this week's challenge with all the butterflies, bird, boots and blooms! Great stenciling work on both cards and I love the tiny bird within the flower bloom on the 2nd card. They're both festive and fun, and I hope your internet doesn't bail on you again any time soon. It happens to all of us. Take care and have a good weekend!

These are really beautiful cards. I am particularly drawn to the butterfly card but both cards are quite lovely and bright and cheery.

Both are so beautiful Brenda, wonderful choice of "B"s on both cards! I missed out on "through the meadows" stamp and now it's out of stock but was able to get many of their other sets at a great price! Two of the sets on your second card were my first 2 A&C sets, of course I had paid full price for them when I purchased from a US retailer, that was before their wonderful discounts! But they were well worth it anyway!

WOW! To both cards Brenda, the butterfly looks almost real, a gorgeous card. Then your second card which stands out with the colour mix, love the beautiful background, the flowers, and boots being 3D, add that little/big something. Stunning cards. As for your dog, I hope he's making progress? Such a worry, when our pets are ill.

First an most important, I do hope your dog is doing ok, I REALLY hate it when they're ill, so stressful.
The cards are both beautiful, wonderful stamps and colours. I'm not a huge fan of butterfly stamps but the one you have used is stunning.

2 gorgeous cards Brenda - fantastic use of these gorgeous A&C sets - I bought the Friendship Florals (amongst other things!!) in the current sale, and while I was there (for round 2!!) I bought the fab new Snow Crystals stencil for no other reason that I loved it on a card you posted recently!
Sorry to hear your dog hasn't been well, and hope he is recovering with treatment from the vet. I'm not surprised your paddocks are like ponds - it's absolutely lashing down like a monsoon here and the wind is howling. A friend had to abort a special birthday meal this week as they had to drive through country roads to get there and there was fog, floods and road closure due to accident! What a year we are having climate wise!

Abbracci!! Ti auguro un weekend finalmente positivo!
