Goodby Gorgeous George

Morning Peeps, I am starting my post with some photos of George, fondly known as Gorgeous George who died very suddenly on Thursday. He is our athlete son Alex's boy, they have been joined at the hip for almost twelve years and he was his training buddy. One of his favourite spots (apart from the kitchen) was laying in my craft room guarding the stamp cupboard, he was one of the best natured and well behaved dogs I've ever know and leaves a huge hole in our lives. He had been fine until the evening before but when a Lab doesn't eat you know there's a problem. Scans discovered a large tumour blocking his colon and that awful decision had to be made.

Now onto Allsorts and this week Wendy would like to see Cupcakes and Birthday Cakes. Our sponsor Clair from Pinksy Doodles created some fun images and pretty papers for the Design Team to use this week and they are available to buy in her store.

Two cards and a bit of a surprise for me as much as all of those who know me I imagine, Clare has invited me to join her DT! She knows I'm a bit of a messy crafter and not a colourist but seems happy for me to follow my inky fingers using her images so we will see how it goes.

And on my second card lots of glitter and shine for the frosting on my cupcake and the fabulously hot pink backing paper to go with the cupcakes.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Your cupcake cards are completely original, Brenda. You always come up with the best design ideas and such lovely ways of interpreting the challenges.

My sympathies regarding the loss of Gorgeous George. He sounds as though he was gorgeous inside and out. I'm very sorry you were forced with this decision. Please know I'm thinking of you and your family. Brenda, I hope you are feeling as well as can be expected. Thank you for sharing your dear life with me! xx

So sad about poor George but thank goodness he wasn't ill until the very end. I am sure there is a big hole in your hearts though :(

Congratulations on your DT position my fellow teamie. I think it is great that Clare has put together people with different talents so we can each showcase her designs in our own styles.

Your inky talents are just amazing and a completely different style to mine. It would be totally boring is we all made the same sorts of cards. I like that we can be so different and respects each others talents.

Sending you and your family big squishy socially distanced hugs.

Love Mandy xxx

I am a bit on the drag visiting you this weekend and now I find that you are struggling with the loss of a loved one, I know how precious dogs can be and George sound like he was a very special dog, it is so sad when their time comes. Congrats on joining a new design team, that's exciting, good luck with it, I shall give Pinksy Doodles a visit. love the spotty colour block cupcakes and the stripy background, I am guessing that second card has an amazing sparkle in real life xx

I know I have already said how sorry I am to hear about George, we are very alike in the fact our fur babies come first no matter what. But this happens and it breaks our hearts. I get up every morning and dread going downstairs as Flint is now 11 years and after loosing Rebel at 8 years I just keep my fingers crossed he has more years in him yet. Sending you all hugs.
Great cupcakes Brenda, hope you have fun on the Dt.
Happy crafting

Brenda, I don't come on the blogs often anymore, just when I have a chance during a work break. I'm so sorry to hear about George. Our furry friends are part of our family so it is a great loss. Knowing what an animal lover you are, I know this was difficult so sending you hugs.
Yummy cupcakes.
