Spread your Wings

It's the first Sunday of the month so time for our new challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More challenge. This month our themes 'Make it Colourful' and 'Favourite Stamps'. There are of course prizes to be won at both, however there may be delays with people receiving them due to the ongoing global situation.

I've received my communication that say's I can stop shielding "with care" at the beginning of August, although I am not confident I actually want to go far if at all. Throughout lockdown I've been amazed by the amount of contact from the NHS as a whole, as well as calls from the GP several from endocrinologist, urologist, neurologist.......lots of 'ologist' basically!! In a way I find it a bit invasive yet I guess it shows they are on the ball.......or as one of my son's put it, without clinics and procedures they are looking for something to do.

My SS card at the top uses a new (to me) stamp from this months sponsors Crafty Individuals called 'Fly and be Free' which I stamped onto an Acrylic ink and sencilled background then stamped just the Butterfly twice more and decoupaged. The sentiment is also taken from he same stamp and finally I flicked some white ink randomly.

My Penny Black share uses the beautiful blooms release earlier this year called Petal Poetry, stamped using Distress Markers and spritzed water direct to stamp, then masked the edges of the piece and added some soft inking and finally a sentiment from Blooming Sentiments.

And a quick and simple second Penny Black share using Bejewelled, which I stamped using Distress Markers direct to stamp. The background was created by inking a stencil with Oxides, spritzing with water, wiping the edges to remove the damp and ink so I didn't get a line all round, placed onto card and pressed gently with a piece of kitchen towel. As well as the prizes from Penny Black we also have one from Blade Rubber Stamps.

I do hope you will join us this month and look forward to visiting all your entries.

Beautiful cards Brenda, I love the image and gorgeous colours on the first. We have just been staying at home and hopefully keeping safe, not interested In going round shops, pubs or restaurants at the moment even though they are open, seeing the family is enough just now. Have a good week.

I really like all 3 of these cards Brenda, the backgrounds on all of them are fabulous, particularly the third one. I am going to have to give that a try. Isn't it funny how we get suspicious when someone in 'authority' takes an interest in us. We are just so unused to that kind of pro-active interest from the NHS. You should enjoy it while it lasts. Best to be cautious if you ask me xx

I love the flowercards, but as you could sxpect is the butterfly card my favorite :)! Great background and I think this stamp is such a beautiful one that goes in so many styles...
I am the same as you; a bit careful...so we don't go just of and wonder. I find our home and garden a super happy place that I only leave for groceries and important appointments. Here we are 1 or two weeks ahead of the UK.
Maybe we will try go walking a bit further away next weekend...
I already had peoople asking about my workshops...are they mad? I don't have the space to seat them 1,5m apart and most important; I'm the one that visits my parents and that is so much more important to me as doing classes... Hugs, Gerrina

Sorry Brenda made a huge typing error on my first comment. Three gorgeous creations, super images and lovely backgrounds, especially love the subtle greens and yellow background.

Three fantastic cards Brenda. I do love the sentiment that is on the bottom card, it's so apt for the times we are going to be facing in the very near future with the relaxing of lockdown. I think we could all do with a little believing in the tomorrows to come and look forward to living again without fear.

Take care.

Hi Brenda
Its been a while since I've popped by.
A trio of glorious cards. Absolutely stunning.
Sadly, my heart issues have flared up again so have been poked by some ologists recently too lol!!!
Take care.

yes Brenda they are always called ologist, I can relate to that . I would venture out a little if I were you ,( no propping up the bar though lol..) because I think it will return again in October with a second wave. My hubby has worked all through it , for Royal Mail, I was very worried at first , but we worked it out and life continued.
Your cards are beautiful , love the dimension of the first , the others are both pretty and arty.
Cold today , doesn't feel like July .
take care Jane x

Stunning cards, Brenda! I love them all, but particularly that gorgeous CI butterfly. I love the colours! REally beautiful. Sorry it has taken me all week to get here x

Tracy said...

Your CI creation is amazing, I love everything about it, the backgound is fabulous. Love your PB, I love when you do your flowers then spritz them, it's so pretty and subtle. I've never tried it, must do it because I always forget about that technique.
Love the vibrancy of the flower on your second PB creation and that sentiment is just perfect, I love it!
Happy crafting

All so beautiful, Brenda! I really love the look of the last one & such a great quote! Can't imagine when we'll feel safe getting near anyone. At least masks are mandatory here & we only go inside buildings if they aren't crowded & we're just there a few minutes. Probably will cancel my next haircut & color--too many cases here!
