Butterflies

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts, our host this week is Helene with the theme of 'Butterflies'. This weeks winner will receive a £15 store voucher from WOWVOW.

I'm doing my proud Mum bit here, many of you know that one of our son's Alex is a semi professional athlete and travels Europe competing in races, mostly marathons. Well this week the British Athletics website lists him as being the No 1 UK marathon athlete for his category. As he said, it might not be a long term placement as competition is always high, but given there are currently no races taking place he is likely to hang on to that ranking for a while.

Both of my cards using the same stamp were samples for a Chocolate Baroque a Hochanda show earlier in the year.....yep, more oldies as still nothing new on the craft front. And both follow pretty much the same process, Oxide backgrounds, stencilling the top one using texture paste and the Butterfly Film Strip stamped in Versafine Clair. I also stamped the Butterflies a second time  to decoupage, on vellum for the top card and onto inked offcuts for the second.

I actually added this one as a second card yesterday as I wanted to support the Butterfly Challenge which I've not joined in for some time and looking through my folders thought this one would fit using some of the requisite colours which all begin with the letter 'X', Xanadu Grey/green, Xiketic Black, Xanthic Yellow, 'X'tra colours and of course the Butterflies.

And a few photos from the gardens, in my monthly challenges post tomorrow we will venture into the paddocks!!

Hope you are all keeping well and safe.

Congratulations to Alex - that's fantastic...definitely a proud mum moment.
Emma and her team had a 'zoom' meeting with Lauren Winfield and Courtney Hill last week - she was chuffed to bits!
Your cards are gorgeous as always and I love the flowers in your garden. I have a few bedding plants in my greenhouse that are coming on nicely!

Woohoo Alex! Confinement has a silver lining too… this made me laugh I have to say! When my mojo vanishes it usually stays out sight for over a month so I wouldn't fret too much yet, plus these are extra-ordinary times. Still, if you want to hurry its return try to ink a stamp, any stamp and just play, see what happens.. xx

Congratulations to Alex. love your pics of your flowers. Gorgeous Chocolate Baroque cards, I love how you've used the same stamp with two great looks.
I bought myself Butterfly Perfumery and Butterfly Minds on my Birthday as it was lockdown and thought it would inspire me.
Happy crafting

Great the texture on the first and on both cards I love the colourcombinations you chose! Seems like your garden is a little bit ahead of ours; I have to wait a bit to see such beautiful flowers! Enjoy the little beautiful things and the weekend!

Well done Alex, and Brenda your proud Mum moment is definitely allowed!! Love the zingy colours on your card and thank you for those lovely photographs...looking forward to seeing the paddocks!! Surprise is living out for the first time in 20 years...eeeek...she stopped eating her haylage, so we tried to tempt her with hay and she turned her nose up at that too so she is staying out and loving it!! She is on medication for her cushings and is on very tight grazing so hopefully won't get an attack of laminitis. She is 33 in June and every day is a bonus after her injury last year so it's nice to see her being "free"!! Hope you are keeping well xx
