Hot pink Poppies and a Christmas Hamlet

It's time for our challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'Colour Inspiration' and they are rather yummy colours as well and 'Get ready for Christmas'. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both.

My top card is my Penny Black share using a newish stamp called Snowy Hamlet stamped in Gathered Twig DI and the colour dragged out a little, then a background added with Pan Pastels, snow glitter and I also extended the lines a little using a fine line brown pen. I cut the frame using a TL die, stamped the sentiment with is a pretty old PB wood mounted one, then raised the frame with foam pads and mounted onto Kart card and then the base card. I am popping over to see Miss Di and Parsnip at the Snippets Playground with this one as the focal panel was a snippet of Bristol cardstock.

Now I know this is rather pink, in fact pinker than I intended but it did seem to be the right shade to fit the colour inspiration. I started by adding watered down DI to a piece of square Bristol cardstock repeat stamping the PB Poppies and heat embossing with detail white powder, then colouring in with sparkle pens, Using TL dies I cute the piece into three, stamped the sentiment which is also PB and added some stenciling using using DI's. The three pieces are layered up with foam pads, matted onto black and mounted onto the base card.

Hope you all have a good Sunday.

Gorgeous Christmas card, it's like a hanging to the wall!
Finally you've got the poppies stamp, it's my favourite too. Lovely in pink too!
I've been busy with the forest berries, blueberries and raspberries. Then we have some highbush blueberries in the garden, they are really big, but not any pears, only one apple coming;-))m

Two great cards for the challenges. I only have a couple of the sparkle pens but found they were rather 'in your face' colour wise but as you say the pink is right for the roses. Clever layering.

Two beautiful cards Brenda and the scene on the first one is stunning. I love the font of the sentiment too. Your pink Poppies are delightful and just perfect for our photo challenge. For reasons best known to itself, Blogger didn't publish my SS card on the reading list today, although it's on my blog so I'm not sure what happened there. I'm sure it has a mind of its own. Been hanging my nose over the poppy stamp for ages, Brenda, and it looks so pretty in the pink and blue. Love the way you've used it. Think it will have to join my stash before much longer! Every year I say I have more than enough Christmas stamps and resolve not to buy any more, but that snowy hamlet might just fall into a basket somewhere too! Gorgeous card. x
