Vintage at Allsorts

Good morning to you all, it's time for our new challenge at Allsorts where this week Mervi is our host with the theme of 'Vintage'. Our sponsor is Marianne Designs.

It's a bit of a lengthy post because I also have some rather overdue Chocolate Baroque and Tattered Lace shares, the CB was one for the 15 minute card posts over on the DT blog yesterday and the TL ones a selection of the many made for Create and Craft TV shows over the last couple of weeks.

Back to my Allsorts card at the top, the image is Indigo Blue which I stamped in sepia archival ink and added a little colour to the Poppies with spectrum pencils and then inked and distressed the edges. The DP's are from stash and I have no idea of the make. Again I distressed the edges and did some machine stitching around the pink piece, matter them up at an angle and placed a piece of net fabric behind the focal image although it doesn't really show up very well on my photo. Some lace, pearls twin and flowers to embellish.

I do hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and see what my teamies have made this week and of course join in with the theme.

I used CB Song Thrush which I randomly stamped using just sections of the image...........when I do this I don't mount the stamp onto a block, I hold it so I can bend the stamp to concentrate on specific areas of the card.............then heat embossed with detail clear powder, added distress inks, a CB sentiment and a few sequins.

The cards above and below use the new Pin Bot Butterflies from TL, they are beautifully details stamps and for both cards I kept the design simple. The one above is similar to one I blogged a while back, the background was created with Brusho's Orange and Lemon.............sounds like a nursery rhyme coming on here.........sprinkling the dry powder onto Fabriano cardstock, spritzing with water and then tilting the card to disperse the colours. The Butterflies are cut from card coloured with the same Brusho colours. A TL sentiment and some sequins.

Again I kept the design simple, some stenciling on the background, ribbons and a Visible Image sentiment and Butterflies cut from glitter card..................despite the intricate design they popped out of the die with one run through the e.bosser.

This is one of a number of cards I made using the TL Spring into Summer papercraft and stamp set, they are such pretty colours and I really enjoyed making the cards for this show.

The above card used the Ship die from the Men's Collection, these samples were not actually for TV but for promotional purposes but I think I will find these dies very useful for masculine cards. It's a pretty simple card with a big masked sun and sea done with Pan Pastels and the ship decoupaged. I also added a stamped sentiment and birds.

And finally one of my makes for this weekends shows, I confess I struggled with balls of wool and needlecraft dies but have a feeling with those crafts being so popular there are those that will love working with them.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, not sure what the weather has in store for us but a repeat of last weeks sunshine would be most welcome.

Another brilliant batch of cards Brenda! Love the shabby chic/Vintage first card but some of the more CAS ones are fabulous too. Know what you mean about the needlecraft dies, I have found best use of them in scrapbooking about the knitters and seamstresses in my life!

Molto carine anche le due ultime card: la barca con le vele è veramente d'effetto e il gatto con i gomitoli mi fa sorridere!
Ti auguro una bella giornata di sole! Buon Sabato!

A beautiful collection of cards today Brenda. The pin dot butterfly is a gorgeous die and one I will be adding to my collection. Hopefully they will have it on the TL stand at Doncaster this year as I missed the TV shows.
The sun is shining here although the temperature has dropped quite dramatically. Not too bad out of the wind but in the sun. I hope it is shining on you too.
Take care
Lesley

Well where to begin Brenda. Your cards are an absolutely stunning collection and you have used so many different techniques that I enjoyed reading about. I really do think they are all absolutely beautiful and again you've made me want more stuff .....

I really do like the bottom card as I love green and I think it's so clever the way you've added the cat looking at the wool and I really like the ship. It's a lovely scene and the stripey sales look wonderful. However I think the first is my absolute favourite. The stamp is lovely, I love the distressed layers and all the embellishments are stunning. I really am in awe! Barbxx

Wonderful cards, one and all Brenda although I am drawn to the balls of wool and those gorgeous zesty greens!! Dorset is bathed in sunshine and looks set to be for the next week although the predicted temperatures are only 12-14. At least the grass is growing for the horses, although mowing twice a week is not my most favourite job in the garden and I can't seem to persuade Martin to make the gate bigger so that he can do it with the tractor and topper...spoilsport!! xx

A gorgeous selection of cards Brenda, you have been so busy.
It was very cold at cricket practice today. I kept warm by running to opposite ends of the field...Tom at one end in the under 11's and Emma at the other end in the under 9's.....Emma did manage to hit two 4's and two 6's!

What an amazing post, I totally love your Allsorts card, so beautiful with the very delicate shades of pink.
The colours in the second card are gorgeous too and look fab with the white stamping.
The next two cards I had to look away as there were so many butterflies, some people send me warnings, lol, lovely cards though.
The least three are also brilliant, you spoil us with all these fab makes.

I'm glad I will not be forced to select a favorite out of this series of beautiful cards. Loving the brusho ones, of course, and that fabulous look to the butterflies. The balls of yarn made such a delightfully fun card, loved the colors on that one. #1 was so soft & feminine and the distressing & lace added so much extra 'oomph' to that one. The subtle stenciling in the lavender card was another nifty detail. The designs, colors & elements in each card are just fabulous! TFS & Hugs
