Summer Butterflies and recycling winners

Good morning Peeps, time for our new challenge at Allsorts where Tracy Mouse would like to see 'Butterflies'. Our sponsors are PPR Papercrafts and Deedeeds Digis.

My favourite Penny Black quote is making another appearance here along with some Tattered Lace Butterflies. I created the background with a stencil and distress inks, stamped the quote with black archival and cut the Butterflies from purple vellum. Some organza ribbon, pearls slider, more pearls and liquid pearls and finito, not much more to add really !

I have packaged six parcels and done the draw for the crafty goodies a couple of days early as I'm not sure how I will be feeling next week after the teeth extractions and I know if I leave it I may well forget with that and our holiday looming as well. So here are the names out of the hat...............

Tattered Lace DT cards Bunnies and Bears

Good afternoon all you lovely Peeps, again I must thank you for all your kind words and encouragement, it means so much and has cheered my mood no end.

I's going to keep this short so forgive me for not going into lots of detail about my cards which are all for tomorrows new Pick of the Week on Create and Craft and also the new 4 day deal.

Following on from the Charisma flower CD Rom's and matching dies, the lovely Stephanie had designs some rather cute Bunnies, Bears and Fairies following the same system. Today I am sharing the Bunnies along with some of the new dies from the Nursery Rhyme range.

Thank you for popping in today, I hope you have a good day.

Poppies and thanks

Morning Peeps, hope you are having a good week and the sun is shining in your parts.

Thanks so much for all your kind comments and wishes, they mean so much especially when I am feeling so under par. I saw the Endodontist specialist last Friday but sadly he was unable to offer me any hope of saving my teeth, he was very honest as he could have just taken my money, done the treatment and in a few weeks said oh well it didn't work.

The bottom line is that my health issues and associated medications have had a severe affect on my teeth which are literally crumbling and in turn creating ongoing infections and pain. Plus the specialist told me I also have a hairline fracture in my bottom jaw bone probably due to what turned out to be a traumatic extraction a couple of weeks ago, so that is further attributing to the pain.

He referred me back to the hospital and over the weekend they put me on another type of antibiotic, that's three sorts in as many weeks but these latest ones do seem to be working as the pain is easing but of course playing havoc with my stomach and diabetes, but you can't have it all can you.

The plan is that they will remove the most affected teeth next week, but so long as the pain eases I am at a point I don't really care what they do. And most of all I want to be pain free when we go on holiday at the end of this month although it might be a liquid diet, but we do have an all inclusive drinks package thrown in so would hate for that to go to waste !

My apologies my blogging is so intermittent, but I'm not really feeling up to spending time at the computer right now plus I promised the family I would try and rest up to help my body cope with the infections and get my diabetes back under control.

Banners at Allsorts

Good morning, it's a scheduled post here, but it should be Saturday when it pops up which means time for a new challenge at Allsorts and this week Susan would like to see Banner or Flags on our work. Our sponsor is Nicecrane Designs.

My card at the top uses the new Wizard of Oz designs from Nicecrane which you will find here. I used the pre colured sheet and used three of the images, Dorothy in the middle in her lovely flowing dress and the Tin Woodman either side of my center stepper card which is of course Tattered Lace. The sentiment across the bottom is computer generated and I added some ribbons, a button and some banners cut from a Penny Black die. I think these new images are absolutely perfect for children's cards and even those of us a little older !

My second card is fairly simple one with an embossed sentiment using Tattered Lace Butterfly Interchangeable folder, the folders have three different sentiments which fit into the folder itself, on this occasion I embossed the base panel without any sentiment, then embossed a second small piece of the same card with the sentiment to use as the focal element. The banner is cut from G45 DP, some roses lightly inked with DI and ivy cut from TL Large Ivy.

And here is my mid month Penny Black and More share, still plenty of time to join in our 'Anything Goes With A Sentiment' theme to be in with a chance of winning one of the great prizes on offer. An inked, glittered and stenciled background and a Penny Black focal sentiment.

Hope your weekend is a good one.

Tattered Lace DT cards Through the arch window

Hello Peeps, apols I'm still very much MIA, my body's not coping with the infections very well, the more antibiotics you have the less effective they become which is not good when you are already immune compromised.

I've had six extractions in the last few weeks, hence they are keen to try this laser removal of nerves to try and save the ones where normal root canal treatment has failed - I now have only six teeth without root canals........I dare not count the hours spent in the dentist chair recently. So I think I need to take a bit of a blog break for a week or so until I feel more on top of things, my mojo is in a creative slumber it seems, so thank goodness I tend to work ahead and have several posts scheduled.

A few shares of some of my makes for tomorrows Tattered Lace Pick of the Day launching at 9pm on Ideal Word. As I mentioned at the weekend I didn't get too many made this time round due to feeling under the weather with the latest round if meds.

My top card uses the new Essential Window Die, it's quite a biggie at approx 21cm x 15cm.

The tunnel card is made from TL Large Panorama dies inner plates and concertina sides die sets, they came out way back in about February and sold out mega fast. The sentiment is also TL and Charisma Poinsettia, another very recent release.

Another using the window die along the same lines as the top card............I know we are looking from outside at the outside, put it down to me feeling so dopey this week, hubby suggested it's artistic licence.

Just the one more, again using the Panorama dies, TL border and Bird Tapestry from the Panorama range.

This all rather reminds me of playschool, whose children used to watch that...................through the square window, then there was the arch window and round window, were there any more ? That half hour or so was a blessing when they were small as it always kept them entertained and allowed me to get dinner on the go.

Have a good week all and many thanks for popping in.

Strawberries and Cream

Morning to you all, so sorry I've been a missing much of the week, there's been a bit of a mad rush for TL samples for Tuesday's pick of the day which I have really struggled with as I am nursing yet another tooth infection.

I've had so many antibiotics in recent months and the latest variety are making me feel really yuk, seems like I've had never ending toothache the last few months. They tell me it's because of all the medications I am on and have referred me to a specialist for some sort of laser treatment on the roots to try and save the teeth most affected. Not liking the sound of it too much, the sessions last two hours apparently, how the devil to you keep still in a dentist's chair for that long ?

So on to Allsorts and this week Mervi is very seasonal with her theme which is Strawberries and Cream, either the colours or the fruits themselves or maybe you have a totally different take on the theme. Our lovely sponsors are Krafty Hands and Deedes Digis

I went for the colours, red Poppies for the strawberries and the white ribbons for the cream.

I picked up the rattan heart in Hobbycraft for £1.00 and at the time wasn't quite sure what I would do with it, but a germ of an idea came to me using Tattered Lace Kirsty Triplet set.............great little sets with each one having three dies, a small embossing folder and there is a matching set of stamps. Out of all the Triplet sets that dropped through my door, this one jumped out at me and said Poppy............well it was inevitable one of them would I guess !!

The heart is about 7" deep so that gives you a good idea of the size of the flowers. I spritzed some cardstock with Dylusions and pearl mica spray and cut the Poppies from that, embossed them and then stamped the middles with one of the stamps, then used glossy accents and tiny black seed beads in the centres. The leaves are cut from Coordination using the Emma Trio set, a gingham bow and a banner with a TL congratulations sentiment.

Although I have always considered myself a stamper of many years, making this type of project makes me happy, I get to play inky, still a little bit of stamping and flowers, what more could a girl ask for !

And I have a second share using an image from Deedee's, it's a Poppy again and is a pre coloured image and the sentiment is from the same set. Same principal as my first piece, red Poppy for the strawberries with lace and organza ribbon for the cream element.

Happy weekend all.

Travel, discover, dream and some new Tattered Lace releases

Morning Peeps, time for our May challenge at  FlonzCraft Vintage Stamping Challenges  and this month our theme is 'Holidays and Travel'. As always there if a fabulous $20 on line store voucher to be won from FlonzCraft.

Today also sees the launch of a four day deal on Crate and Craft TV so I can share some of my makes for the programmes, so it's a bit of a photo heavy post.

I had to think long and hard about my Flonz card then the idea clicked into place when I saw an old vintage map on the internet and printing that off was my starting point. It wasn't a very clear map but the colour was right and I only wanted the map to be vague in the background. I added some bronze dimensional past through a mask and whilst that was drying stamped and paper pieced the 50's Flonz image. I added some calico which had been dye in tea, some sea shells and a piece of the map rolled up to look like an old map scroll. The sentiment is computer generated.

Using the new extra large essential hearts coming up in today's shows

Using the new Polar Bear and Santa sentiment which is so pretty and delicate yet cut's like a dream, here I have used 350gsm glitter card and it cut with just one run through the machine

Using another of the new sentiments and again cut with ease on heavy glitter card

Using the new heart swing dies also new in today's shows, along with the new Rudolph
(photo's a bit wonky, not the easiest shape to photograph)

The Polar Bear again, he has to be my favourite from today's releases and you get the cut out snowflakes to use on their own as I have done here

Have a lovely week one and all.

Dance, Sing, Love

Time for our monthly challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are Feature a Creature and Add a Sentiment.

The card at the top uses my all time favourite stamp Penny Black Dance, Sing , Love, I use it time and again and make no excuses that it pops so often on my blog as I think it is such a happy and uplifting quote.

A year on and I am still exploring my sewing machine that hubby bought for my Birthday last year and just discovered this pretty embroidery style stitch, it's not an expensive or fancy machine but does have a few nice features. So after stitching around the edges of a piece of cream cardstock I stamped the sentiment and embossed with detail clear powder. The flowers and leaves are Tattered Lace Trio sets which I cut from card spritzed with Dylusions and Glimmer Mist and then stamped the centre's with the matching Trio stamp set. A pretty organza bow made on the Embellishment Attic bow maker and ribbon slide to finish.

My stamping Sensations piece is a Fathers Day card I made for our daughter to give her Dad back in June. I masked the central oval and stamped a variety of stamps from Inkylicious, Lavinia, Art Impressions and Clarity and with the mask still in place used Pan Pastles to create the background of the scene. The poppies were inked with distress markers, the sentiment with archival black and the finished piece matted an layered on to a large landscape base cut from a sheet of A3 cardstock.

I do hope you will join in our challenges this month, as always we have some fabulous prizes to be won.

How does your garden grow

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Allsorts and this week it's my turn to choose the theme which is 'How Does Your Garden Grow', the chance to use lots of lovely flowers on your artwork. Our sponsors are DigiStamp Boutique and Sizzix.

Again I am pretty transparent with my theme going for a floral one but with so many beautiful flowers all around us at this time of the year it's the perfect chance to celebrate the wonders of Nature.

I have gone all Penny Black for my first creation using the lovely Hollyhock as my focal flower, masking the top and bottom of the cardstock then stamping and colouring with Spectrum pencils, stamping the other two with Adirondack inks and using Pan Pastels for the sky, a PB sentiment and some birds flying off the page.

My second make is one of my recent Tattered Lace samples for the newly released Charisma Summer collection  which has printable flowers and matching dies and as you can see from the above the blooms are so delicate yet still cut out to perfection.  Sweet Peas are very special to me as my Dad always grew then along the back garden patch between the garden and farmyard and as you walked up to the farm they gave off the most glorious aromas during the summer months. I have written up the details to this card over on the Tattered Lace Blog so will not bore you with them again here.

Happy weekend all.
