Down in the meadow

Good Morning, hope everyone had a good weekend. Thanks for all your lovely comments on my last post and welcome to my new followers, it's lovely to meet you.

I thought I would share a little bit of inkiness today, these are ones I made a few weeks back when I was having a play as you do. There's definitely a bit of a cow thing going on here, when I made these I had just received some new stamps from Sutter Stamps and the cows were amongst those so itching to get inked up.

Both of the backgrounds were created with Glimmer Mists, it's not something I do that often for my scenic cards but I quite like the mottled sky effects and then I added distress inks to obtain some depth to the meadows. The stamps in both are a mixture of Sutter and Stampscapes with a few Art Impression thrown in for good measure. The fence in the top card is Sutter and the one on the bottom card drawn in by hand.

OK, off to do some proper work now, have a good Monday.

It's simply amazing, Brenda, how you can use so many different stamps to create these miniature paintings. Love the subtle colours of the meadow in the first one and the lush green meadow and the misted sky in the second. I also think you did a great job on the shading.

So beautifully put together Brenda.
The first one has to be my ideal home.
Although I already live rural I still neighbours close to me.
My ideal garden would be one where I could run around naked and no one could see me.
Not that I would but I am sure you know what I mean.
I love the solitude of being in the garden with just the animal sound and the flowers LOL

I just keeping looking at your first one - it's the man with his dog walking up the path that has me mesmerised. I'm not surprised these wonderful creatures were itching to be inked up & I love the atmospheric Glimmer Mist backgrounds.

Fabulous card, a heck of a lot of work looks to have gone into it and a very stunning scene.
Spotted your re-vamped mint tin and it looks fab too, just been on Ventura and if I had seen this tin before I went would have bought one from there to alter. Prefer the smaller ships though.

Such a pretty scene Brenda. It reminds me so much of my childhood. When I lived in the country my friends and I had not a care in the world and our days were long and filled with pleasure.

Two wonderful cards I like how you used cows.

scrappymo! said...

Both of them are just such nice, peaceful scenes. The hand drawn fence looks great and the trees and boughs are just the right finishing touches. I always think your scenic cards would look great framed!
I always think a few cows grazing in a field looks tranquil. My Dad raised beef cattle when I was a kid...so I grew up looking out at peaceful fields...lucky for them it was peaceful as Dad was a old saftie and could never send any cows off to become "beef"....
He would so have enjoyed seeing your cards!

Tedz said...

Sorry Brenda I thought I had commented on these lovely scenic cards but it's not here. I like the way the sky has a dappled look, it's different - is it because you used glossy card? Do I spy a labrador on the first one? Pauline xx
