A bit of embossing and some happy faces

Morning Peeps, it's time for our new challenge at Allsorts and this week Annie is challenging us to use either wet or dry embossing on our work. Our sponsor is the Sizzix.

I tend to heat emboss an awful lot of my stamping, not only do I like the sheen from it gives but if I am going to colour in it gives me a good edge to stop me going over the edges.......a regular occurrence as something of an unnatural colourist.

Both of my shares are Chocolate Baroque samples, the top tag was cut twice from heavy cardstock using a TL die and stuck together to create a firm base for the inks. My starting point was to pain the whole tag with a light brown acrylic paint, the a coat of crackle graze followed by a coat of cream acrylic paint. I then randomly stamped a Rose and script image and heat embossed with detail copper and also added some stencilling. The UTEE piece is just a random blend of UTEE crystals which I melted on a craft sheet and then stamped into with the Rose image. The three little hearts were stamped with the same script and embossed with detail clear to give them a bit of a sheen.

This set of cards and matching box are all TL dies, one of my favourite die sets from 2016. The Spring flowers formed part of a recent CB show on Hochanda and are all stamped with versafine and heat embossed with detail white powder , then coloured in with Spectrum pencils and matted and layered in coordinating cardstock.

Last week the girls 'Sussex Cousins' came to stay with their Mum and Dad - aka one of our son's and DIL. Pictured above are from left Cousins Prince and Luka along with Daisy, Holly and Poppy to the rear. Luka is a rescue from Cyprus, apparently they have a large number of Hungarian Viszlas abandoned over there, they are bought for hunting and then just abandoned when the season ends and an English lady Vicar living there tracks them down and re-homes them, mostly in the UK.

My team mates have all come up with different embossing takes on the theme and you will find them all over at the challenge blog.

Look at those little faces looking up so lovingly, bless them. Your cards and tag are lovely as ever. The flowers look superb coloured onto the black card and it gives a totally different look. I love the background of the tag, there's so much going on there. Enjoy your long weekend. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

The tag and the card set are gorgeous. I like embossing too and I use this technique quite a lot as well.
The dogs are very cute. They look really happy. :) Isn't it awful that people just abandon animals when they don't have any use of them anymore? It breaks my heart when I hear such stories. :( What that vicar lady is doing is very kind - finding those dogs new homes.
Hugs!

A fabulous tag, totally gorgeous colours and a wonderful design, unfortunately I have no idea what UTEE is, never seen any up here in any of the craft shops.
Love the white embossing on the black and the fact that your backing card matches the colour of the flowers.
Super photo of the dogs, they seem to look very happy together.
Have a good long weekend.

Love the golden lushness of your tag, Brenda! Gorgeous collage background, wonderful hearts, and truly magnificent rose. Your coloring and shading in the rose melts my heart. It's been a long time since I used UTEE. Thanks for reminding me of the technique in this incredible project.

Your TL shaped cards are beautifully done! And the puppy smiles are the greatest! Thanks for the inspiration tonight, B. xx

My favourite is the Shabby chic tag, the rose UTEE embellishment is fantastic! The colourful flowers against the black are stunning in a CAS way.
I can't help but wondering what treat you're holding to get those adoring looks from the 4 legged fans... or am I cynical?
Enjoy this long weekend Brenda! xx

Just catching up on your blog B., I've been so busy and never seem to have browsing time. Out more with dad and extra commitments but wouldn't have it any other way. You've some lovely cards going on here and wonderfully made embossed images, I nearly always emboss my stamping too, I love it.
When your doggies look up at you like that you wonder how people can abandon them, isn't it?? Some people only think of themselves and no one else... sad for them and those they affect.
Thanks for sharing your inspiration!
Sending hugs and prayers too... pray your health is ok.. ❤️
