From the Orient to the Serengeti

Morning Peeps updating an already scheduled post. Been a mixed and non to pleasant week, Holly had her surgery, not totally successful and may have given her only limited time, so a day at a time. Then shockingly a lifelong friend and professional cyclist came for dinner, cycling home he was hit and killed by an oncoming car, still daylight but no witnesses. We are helping Police all we can and trying to support his Daughters, one of whom lives in NZ.

So craft on the back burner at the moment, times like this I'm grateful I work ahead as it's time for our mid month inspirational post at Tag-Along (and ATC's) challenge where we are travelling the World for Pinky's Travel theme, along with the usual Anything Goes option.

My travels take me to Japan and Kenya, I've yet to get to the former, one day maybe. I crated my tag above in MCS using a recent release called ?? After arranging the various elements onto a base scene I printed out on Premium Pure Print 300gsm and cut the tag shape using a basic die. Some seam biding and twine to finish. Linking this up to The Outlawz no cards.

For my ATC I stencilled a background with bold colours to represent a Serengeti sunset which are absolutely amazing, then stamped the Animals, bunting and sentiment from Penny Black 40-194 Lets Go Wild (2013). To make the animals pop I heat embossed with detail black EP and made a little matching pocket for the ATC using Kraft card. Popping this to ATC's around the World and Simon Says' Wednesday (which I was so lucky to win recently - thank you) whose theme is Not a Card and finally Craft Rocket would like to see Animals.

I hope I have inspired you to pop over to the challenge blog and join in with us.

Finally a cautionary note, sure some of you have already found the little blue (pencil and star - automatically insert Google search links into your post) icon on the screen to the right when your creating or editing a post, unless you want a link to numerous Google pages DON't click. Being curious I did and ended up spending ages removing all the links it decided my post needed, some so far removed from the actual content it was scary. It's all too easy to accidentally insert them by just hovering the cursor over the icon, as yet I've not found a way to remove the non too helpful option, if anyone has please do tell.

What a horrible week you've had Brenda, awful news about your friend, it must have been such a shock. Was wondering about Holly, didn't like to ask you as I was worried about prodding a nerve, so sorry the outlook isn't good.
As always your projects are beautiful, the Japanese tag is so pretty and the sunset colours on the ATC are glorious!

Two lovely projects and as you said, good that you plan and work ahead. This has obviously been a bad week for you with horrid things happening. Take care xx

Two wonderful projects Brenda both places I have never been to but would be lovely to visit! Especially loving the colors of the tag with that pretty pink and then the blue mountains in the back.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend, how awful!
Hoping Holly will get some relief. Currently having an ill pet I can feel your worries. We aren't sure yet what is going on with my cat Thomas but suspect something kidney/bladder related. So worrying. His appoinment is tomorrow.

I am trying to catch up after my trip with the grandkids and have decided that I will start with posts from today. Otherwise it is too big a mountain to climb. Your tag and atc are both really lovely. I particularly lie the silhouette stamping on the bold sunny colours. What a shocking thing to happen to your friend and on the way home from your house, that must be really hard to deal with. I am so sorry to hear it xx

That sounds like a horrible week. I get why crafting is on the back burner. Your tags are gorgeous though. I love these destinations you've taken us too. Those would be great summer trips for certain. Thinking of you and sending you lots of strength and for better days ahead. hugs-Erika

Oh my goodness Brenda, what a horrible time you have had. How shocking what happened to your friend. Poor Holly too. I don’t know how you still delight us with your artwork, but we are so grateful that you do. I was just reading about how to schedule our time, and allowing space in between for “unexpected life events, that we all have”, of which you’ve had more than your fair share. Thanks for the warning as well, they are always sneaking in things and that is something we can all do without! Take care, sending hugs xxx
