Morning all, time for a new challenge at Allsorts and Liz has selected the theme of 'For a Child' and of course as always there's the A/G option. We have four stamps to be won.
I was lucky to win some Andy Skinner stamps last year, these two were among them and although I don't do cute these seem a step removed and offer versatility without lots of dreaded colouring in. Above is called 'Let your dreams take flight', she was simply stamped, basic colouring and a stencil to add sun rays.
This one is called 'All you need is a hug', love the image of the little girl and her puppy, it's a firm favourite and along with another called 'Best Friends' sell really well at the RSPCA shops. Again simply stamped, a little colour added and stencil work in the background.
With the hot weather we've spent a lot of time outside sitting in the shade and benefiting from the breeze/wind which is always present given the flat nature of the Fen. So the camera has been busy and a few of the shots I grabbed, starting with those at the top pond....
A Common Moorhen, curious birds and so timid, this one has three babies but wasn't able to get all on a shot.
A male Coote, not seen any young and could be the hen and young are across the neighbouring field which also has a pond.
This female Mallard is one we reared from a chick, a family of ducklings were abandoned in the grounds of the school where our Daughter teaches so with the help of the RSPCA we rescued them. At the time the RSPCA guy said they would never stray far and they never have and live here and on the neighbouring pond.
A Roe Deer paid a visit to the top boundary one evening, they move so fast I usually miss them but this one lingered long enough to get a photo.
And finally, one of the Black Squirrels introduced to our land by the Cambs and Beds Wildlife Trust who have a breeding programme for them. We've had them for about three years now, they bred the first year and have now interbred with the Grey's and we have an interesting blend of colours now!

Those stamps were a lucky win for you and these cards are lovely with great words as well. Thanks for sharing the photos of some of your local wildlife.
Beautiful colour tones on the images on both cards, lovely to see your wildlife pics
First up Brenda is your beautiful card, its such a peaceful scene, really beautiful.
Now onto the wildlife, which I love. So many wonderful pictures you have shared with us. I find it all amazing I really do, and the babies on the pond with mum, well, just wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing. xx
Great wildlife photos Brenda, your cards are lovely, especially the second one
The way you've used these Andy Skinner stamps is just wonderful—there's a quiet grace in both scenes that feels so comforting and tender. The soft stenciled sunrays add such warmth to the first, and the hug between the little girl and her puppy is heart-melting. Your nature photos are a joy to see, especially the Moorhen and the mallard you helped rescue—what a beautiful full-circle moment to witness them thriving near home. The black squirrel and its colorful descendants sound absolutely magical!
Gorgeous cards Brenda, the images are super cute and your coloring and designs are just stunning!!
Love your wildlife photos too, absolutely fabulous!! :-)

Two adorable cards. The little girl stamps are so sweet. The designs really capture a sense of innocence and joy.
Beautiful stamps on both cards Brenda, lovely subtle background stencilling to add colour without detracting from the focal images.
Love your photos, how idyllic to sit in the shade, enjoy the breeze and watch the wildlife. I've never seen a black squirrel, he's beautiful! xx
OMG I absolutely love those stamps Brenda congrats on winning them I have been looking out for some to buy but they are very popular and wherever I have been they have sold out, but never mind I did buy some little beauties from Stamp Addicts, I think the images look so nostalgic and have a vintage look to them that I love so much your photos of the wildlife is wonderful, the odd times I have sat out I have watched the little birds still feeding and of course the Pigeons who seem to have taken over the back garden the odd one keeps approaching me asking for more food, lol,
hugs
