You'll Never Walk Alone

Morning all, time for a new challenge at Allsorts where Sarah has selected the theme of Inspired by a Song along with the usual A/G. We have some lovely dies as prizes from In2Crafts.

Had lots of thoughts about the song, was initially going to be my fav band Queen, but this is a song I sing every week during the fottie season, much to the annoyance of everyone as I'm tone deaf. We (the Reds of Liverpool) are on the cusp of becoming Premier League Champions for an equal record breaking 20th time, just one point needed from remaining five games so celebrations in the City ahead, maybe as soon as tomorrow.

You'll Never Walk Alone was originally written in 1945 by Rodgers and Hammerstein for a musical, a number of artists did their own versions including Elvis. Then in 1963 Gerry and the Pacemakers a Liverpool band and lifelong Red fans made their own version, it went to No 1 and became the anthem of Liverpool FC. I was a schoolgirl and will admit I don't remember the song from that time.

The little girl and her Dog, an Andy Skinner stamp called Best Friends, both cards simply stamped, coloured and some stencilling. The stickers on the first are envelope seals I bought from the club shop years ago and the words of the song computer generated, it looks a bit wonky in the photo but seems OK irl.

It's a stamp I use a lot and sells well at the RSPCA shop. And You'll Never Walk Alone with a Dog, the best companions anyone could ask for.

It's also time for a new Rudolph Days challenge and above my share using Lavinia stamps. Not a new make but not blogged before, I wasn't initially sure about stamping and colouring onto grey card but it grew on me. The centre was toned down with white Pan Pastels, stamped in versafine ad coloured in with Posca sparkle pens.

Finally, it's almost time for the first challenge at our new Tag-Along (and ATC) challenge on 1st May when we have a nice simple theme to get things going, it's Anything Goes. Yesterday we announced the winner of another little giveway and if you've not already been over to take a peek, here is the link.

Great choice of song and a lovely way of illustrating it. The second card is unusual being stamped onto grey but it's quite wintry looking . Happy Rudolph Days.

Fabulous cards, Brenda. Your Best Friend cards so appropriate for you, fingers crossed Liverpool get the point they need today. My team needs all the points they can get in the remaining two games to stay in League 1…. and a miracle! I’ve got everything crossed, but whatever happens, I’ve paid for my season ticket for next year, so I’ll be back there next season ‘singing the blues’. Your Christmas card is absolutely gorgeous, I love the colour combination.

Both cards using the Andy Skinner stamp are beautiful, neither needing any embellishments, the stamp and sentiments saying it all. Love your Christmas card

The craftsmanship and creativity displayed in these cards are truly inspiring. The combination of the girl and her dog with the song theme evokes such a heartfelt connection, while the Christmas card on grey cardstock is a unique twist that adds depth and elegance to the festive season.

Your use of the Andy Skinner stamp is breath taking. I can see why it is a good seller for the charity. Combined with the song it looks lovely. Stamping onto grey card! Based on this beautiful result I might need to have a go.

All three of these creations are stunning Brenda- love that Andy Skinner stamp of the little girl and dog- so true you'll never have a better friend than the canine variety, admiring your self control in keeping the designs simple and letting the beauty of the stamp shine through. Great way to illustrate your chosen song (glad I don't have to listen to you singing it though!!!)
Gorgeous Christmas card- love the stamping on grey- definitely going to try it!

Beautiful 'inspired by a song' card Brenda - one of my favourites too although I'm not a football supporter.

Love the arched version with the lyrics.

Absolutely beautiful Brenda. Loving the red and black color combo on both Allsorts cards and the Christmas card is so pretty too! Great song choice! I don't know why I struggled so much deciding on one for this challenge!! But that's what happens to me when I have too many ideas in my head.

Your blog post title brought me here. I love this song. I remember watching the heart-thumping Champion League in Istanbul 2005, where Liverpool emerged champion. The game finished at 5am our time here.
Great card, love how you incorporate Liverpool red as the colour theme.
Have a great day, Brenda.

WOW! What feeling in the image with the words of the song Brenda, I sadly, remember Gerry and the Pacemakers on Top of the Pops, loved it then and now. A stunning card and shape too. As for your rabbits card, it's fabulous, I love the way you made the images pop with wonderful colouring, a gorgeous card. x

Fabulous stamp, Brenda! It does go well with the song too... and the presentation with the lyrics is great. Love the Lavinia card, a lovely circle shape and the grey is a good start when using pastels or pencils, as a mid-tone background. x
