Going round in circles

Morning everyone, a new challenge at Allsorts, Lorraine is our host and would love to see some Circles on our work. Prizes come from Highlight CraftsAALL and Create and Stampendous.

I was a lucky girl to receive a surprise early package with the new release of Lavinia stamps so spent several days at play and thought this one represented a circle to fit with this weeks theme. This release has three silhouette Fairies and some quite large stamps a bit different to their usual sizing, Lilies and Hummingbirds which require colouring to bring them to life.......there started my challenge!

Above I used Flower Divine 1 and stamped six times round a softly inked circle to help me keep the shape, stamped the smaller of the two Hummingbirds in the centre along with three bees from Bumblehums and coloured all with a Ecoline plus Posca pens to bring in some sparkle. The Hummingbird is also covered in part with stickles so has a lovely sparkle although not that evident in the photo.

This one features the larger Lumus Fairy (she also comes in a smaller version facing the other way) another Bee from Humblebum (link above) resting in her hand, lots of Lilies across the bottom using Twilight Lily which I absolutely love and across the top elements of Shadow Bloom. I used three graduated size masks to create the circles, colouring using the same mediums as above and a sentiment from Bumble Words. Linking this across to the Summer Moon theme at Lavinia.

Thought some of you would like this photo of our Green Woodpecker family, they have two young and this was one of them being fed out in the orchard. As is the norm the female is not as pretty as the male and I am guessing by the coloured head of the juvenile it's a male. We also have a family of Great Spotted Woodpeckers which are beautiful with the bright red markings, but they move pretty swiftly compared with the green and I'm never quick enough to get a photo.

Have a good weekend and my appreciation for your visits.

Imaginative use of circles on both of your beautiful cards. Love the look of the new Lavinia stamps. Your colouring of the lilies is so pretty. The blues & greens on the first card are stunning. Sparkle Posca pens? Will have to investigate!

What a great shot of your woodpeckers.

Happy Saturday to you!

Great use of the new stamps with those stunning colours too on your first card. The second one is so pretty in the colours and design you chose.
It's many years since I have since a green woodpecker. This is a fantastic photo with the young.

Stunning cards with the new Lavinia stamps Brenda … superb composition and colouring on both. I received a few of the new stamps yesterday … made myself be restrained so I only bought a few of the new ones (though a few other bits and bobs did fall into my basket as well!), but looking forward to playtime with them!
Great pic of the woodpecker family … not sure if I’ve ever seen one xx

Both beautiful cards Brenda! The hummingbird is on order... I like this release very much and Lavinia in general. They always have something new but maintain their unique style through all releases.
Great pic of the woodpeckers too! x

Your card featuring the new Lavinia stamps is absolutely enchanting! The use of Flower Divine 1 and the beautifully colored hummingbirds and bees create a magical scene. I love how you incorporated the Lumus Fairy and Twilight Lily, and the circle theme ties everything together beautifully. Also, thank you for sharing the lovely photo of the Green Woodpecker family; it's a delightful addition to your post.

Your circle interpretation is amazing with your clever use of those beautiful new stamps and blue and green colors. The fairy looks gorgeous in card #2 with the circle of light and the little bumble bee too. That's a great shot of the woodpeckers and a rare one I'm sure. The woodpeckers with the red spotted heads constantly drill on my aluminum rain gutters on the house jolting me from my chair! They're powerful little birds with jack-hammer like beaks! Have a great weekend.

Such beautiful cards Brenda, really love that hummingbird, have not seen any in my garden this year yet although my daughter said she saw one stop by the flowers on her window.
Cute picture of your woodpeckers!

Two gorgeous cards Brenda, like you I love the new flowers stamps (mine arrived yesterday). Love the blue shades you've used in the circle wreath card.
We've usually had the Great Spotted Woodpecker visiting, but unfortunately he hasn't made an appearance this year, lovely to see them feeding.

Abbracci!

OH! Brenda, what very beautiful cards, so different, but great designs and colouring. We have had a visit from our Green Woodpecker, I don't know where he lives, but he usually comes and feeds on the lawn for up to half an hour. Love when he visits, how wonderful to be able to get a photo of the feeding. Hope you are well. x

Always love seeing your nature shots, Brenda! You captured the feeding so beautifully! Your first card really grabbed my attention! Such a wonderful design and love the lilies in a circle--plus the hummer and bees! I don't know why you think you're not good at coloring as it's wonderful! I can see some sparkle and know it's even more beautiful in person! The second card is great, too. Love the way you did the 3 circles--so unique!
