Fur, Feathers and a Butterfly

Morning Peeps, our new challenge at Allsorts starts today with the theme of Fur and/or Feathers as selected by Ellie. Prizes this month come from Craftstash and AALL and Create and will be drawn on Friday 22nd March.

Two shares, above my favourite Fox from AALL and Creates A4 stamp set In the Wild (529), stamped and just the flowers coloured, stencilling using Digits Checked (110), only a small stencil but so useful which I use over and again. Words from Power of the Word (754) stamped onto black card and embossed with white EP.

This was a Stamp Addicts TV sample using one of the new Terri Sherman stamps, this one Sparrows, as you can see a bit of artistic licence with the colours as my Sparrows turned into Greenfinches! Card base made with Tattered Lace dies and for the background crackle texture paste and a leaf stencil. The birds all cut on the Scan and Cut which I'm finding really useful for cutting stamped images since my left hand and arm went AWAL. The sentiment was one of several released with the birds.

Now for my Butterfly Challenge card, the letter this time is 'D for Decoupage' and I was immediately inspired by that and the colours. So I have incorporated Daffodil, Dairy Cream, Delft Blue and Dark Green from the colour options, die cuts and of course my Butterfly.

I have a huge bag of ready decoupaged Daffodils from my January Flower of the Month Highlight Crafts samples, in hindsight I've no idea why I prepared so many, I literally cut out every printed Reflection they sent so had excess to requirements.

I used MCS/Canvas Workspace/Scan and Cut to create the base layers including apertures and with the Daffodils ready cut and decoupaged so it was just a matter of adding a piece of acetate and arranging the flowers. A few TRR Lily of the Valley, again ready cut to bring in some blue, ribbon,  Butterfly which is AALL and Create ephemera and a die cut word.

The Clematis Armandii is just breaking into flower (looks a bit shadowed as took the photos at 6.30am before the sun rose) and looking and smelling glorious, it straddles a fence and garden seat and looks lovely both sides. On the left you can see a Magnolia which is now intermingled with it.

As always my appreciation for your kind visits and words of encouragement.

Lovely cards, as always, for both challenges and I wouldn't like to choose a favourite - they all win. Love the stencilling on the first, great sentiment for the bird one and of course the butterfly decoupage card is lovely. Thanks for sharing the photos of your clematis - beautiful 😊. Have a good weekend

Wonderful cards Brenda, "chick happens" made me smile as I look at a dollop on the kitchen window!! What a fabulous clematis that is. It is lovely to see the natural world bursting into life again, it's been a particulary long (what feels like 12 month!!) winter xx

A trio of beautiful cards Brenda, each fabulous in their own right- I am amazed at what you create with just one working hand, hope it's not too much longer before you get your postponed treatment.
It's wonderful to see everything coming to life in the garden, your magnolia and clematis are glorious.

WOW! The selection of cards are so different, but so joyous in their own right, love every one of them. Happy to hear the SnC helps you be able to cut. Your Clematis is stunning, we tried to grow it, and it didn't like where it was, we moved it and it died boo hoo. Yours has so many beautiful flowers it must have a lovely strong perfume with it. x

WOW - gorgeous trio of cards in this post.
The first one is striking in red and black with the stencilling and positive sentiments.
The second one's sentiment made me chuckle and I love your artistic licence on the bird colouring.
Finally, your decoupaged daffodils card is just so beautiful. A work of art.

I just love all these wonderful cards along with your amazing flowers! I planted clematis once and my hubs accidentally mowed them down so I never grew them again LOL I love the fox and his wild side saying on card 1, and the sentiment on card 2 just tickled my funny bone. Card 3 looks amazing with those beautiful daffodils and pretty blue ribbon to match that great gingham working the background. NJ on everything!

Your first two card have lovely striking colours Brenda and those daffs are beautiful. What a wonderful display from your clematis, it must be a few years old. I can't seem to get them to grow very well in our garden for some reason and they are so pretty when in full bloom x

Lots of lovely inky work with the first two cards and I do love the Chick happens sentiment!
Your last card is so pretty combing the gingham into the design and the acetate really lets the design shine through.

Gorgeous cards Brenda, particularly love the daffodil one.
Love your garden photos too, ours is still looking a bit brown and dull although the magnolia is just starting to show little tips of buds! Having got a puppy last year, I now have a 9 hole mini golf course as a back garden!!

A wonderful trio of cards Brenda - each is so different, yet beautiful. Love the pun in the sentiment on the second one.
My left arm is functional again, but with some limits. But it is healing well. Do hope your left arm returns from it's break ready and willing to work again...
Blessings

A great range of cards but the one you have done for the butterfly challenge is a beauty. So glad you did so many in your prepwork and had plenty to use here. So so pretty. Thankyou for coming and playing in the butterfly garden with me. Hugs Mrs A.
