Embellish it at Allsorts

Morning everyone, time for a new challenge at Allsort where Mervi is asking us to 'Embellish It' or you could use the alternative A/G option.

Before I tell you about my makes another subtle hint about our special Birthday celebration coming up, well we are nearly there and it's next Saturday, here's a logo to share to help us spread the word, the prizes are so special you won't want to miss out.

Prizes this week as with the last couple of weeks come from WOWVOWOakwood Direct and Craft Stash, photos of the all on the challenge blog.

I had to dig deep for today's shares as I don't tend to use many embellishments beyond a few grungy bits and bobs so my embellies on the one above are the cord and Blackbird. A brayered Oxide background, a mask to add some colour to create the sun, a harlequin stencil randomly inked before adding the flowers which were stamped twice, coloured and cut out and placed over the sun with the cord behind.

The blooms are the beautiful Heleniums from AALL and Create Flower Journey, one of the March releases, three lovely images on this A5 stamp set and I did my best to get them close to the most popular colour of that flower. Know I promised some shares using this months AALL and Create release but I had today's cards ready made so saving those for our Birthday week.

The theme for the current Simon Say's Wednesday Challenge is 'Stencil It' so this one hopefully fits the brief.

A single embellishment on the one above in the form of an Ideaology index clip on the word label, focal image is from A&C's
Poppy Seed Heads and the word from the same stamp masked to get stamp just the word. I added a bit more background stamping in red to carry the colour of the seed heads.

Happy Saturday all.

Such beautiful cards Brenda - I do love your cards with the fabulous backgrounds, and this pair are no exception. Love your cord on the top one, that for you is quite an embellishment :)

Thank you for the update on the upcoming birthday celebration. Those are some great floral images on both cards. I love the collage feel to them both. To me, embellishing is a hit of miss. Some of my cards are really embellished and some are clean and simple. I think it just depends on how I am feeling for a card. Your cord is a great embellisher for that card.

Un abbraccio

More gorgeous florals Brenda and perfect subtle embellishments. Hope the sun is shining where you are. The grass is coming on nicely but Wills is looking a bit like Porky Pig at the moment despite daily work, so we've cut back his grazing!! x

Beautiful cards in lovely vibrant colours, gorgeous stamps and well done with the embellishments- very subtle, they add to the designs without distracting from the focal stamps.

These cards are simply gorgeous. Your stamping projects and backgrounds are always a joy to see, always so much detail. Your Heleniums are so beautiful, like they have been freshly pressed onto your card and your poppy seed heads could by framed just as it is, just beautifully perfect! Michelle x
