Christmas sparkle, YouTube and Gelli Plate

Morning Peeps, I've been a really bad blogger this week I'm afraid, another very poorly doggie, this time Daisy who is ten and had to have most of her mammary glands removed and very fragile still. Add to that my stamps for the Chocolate Baroque 4th January One Day Special on Hochanda ran into RM problems (putting it politely) and had to be sent again, a week lost meaning I've had my head down getting samples turned round in time. I've got nine made so far so well on my way...........teasing you now, they are all new stamps and yummy!!

This will be my last post before Christmas so I would like to wish everyone a happy festive season, I know for many Christmas just won't be the same this year but let's pray 2021 is a better year all round. For hubby and I it will be a strange Christmas, usually all the children and grandchildren are with us, but that's about 20 of us so just not an option this year. We decided as a family with several secondary teachers, another mingling with Boris and Co and an NHS front line worker that even if allowed it's just not worth the risk, hopefully we will have a belated Christmas in the Spring and see one another once again.

Moving on to Allsorts which is a two week challenge and the last of 2020. Kath is our host and she would like to see 'Sparkle and Shine and the prize a £15 store voucher from Stamp Addicts. It's a bit of a photo heavy post as I also have a post over at the Chocolate Baroque blog today plus yesterday's shares for our mid month reminders at We Love Chocolate Baroque and Stamping Sensations challenges.

So a gold one and a green one for Allsorts, I made 75 of these way back in January after seeing Lucy from Sweet Poppy Stencils use this beautiful wreath and the hot foiling technique.

And dare I say another YouTube video link here, today's one making the card below with a Gelli Plate, Brusho's and a Chocolate Baroque stamp.

Another card from my Chocolate Baroque post here.

A green version of the Allsorts share at the top of the post, made in exactly the same way.

I'll be honest and say I really don't enjoy making Christmas cards, especially batch ones, I blame starting them for TV in May every year and after that I never want to do my own and those for daughters/DIL's. So as there is usually a lull in TV work around the Christmas period (although this year seems to be an exception and I have soooo much to do) I take advantage of the break and get the bulk out of the way so they are done and dusted and just have fun making the individual ones for family, DT work and the odd order during the year. Yes I already have about 100 made for next year.

A Chocolate Baroque share shaker card using the Tomte Gnomes and below the new Canary Bird Rose stamp.

Finally, the Fairy scene which is of course all Lavina.

If your still with me after all that, have a lovely weekend and Christmas.

I hope Daisy recovers soon. It sounds like you are going to have a very different Christmas this year but as you say it will be wonderful if we can all get together with our families by Easter/spring.

What a fabulous collection of cards Brenda. I love the top two with the sweet poppy stencil and the foiling (must try this technique). The CB cards are wonderful too as is the final fairy themed card. Sorry to hear that you dog has been unwell, I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
Christmas Day this year will see hubby and I celebrating with our 34 year old son who still lives at home (in a granny annex), so very quiet. However we will have our Daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons joining us on Boxing Day, so something to look forward to.

Wishing you and your family a peaceful Christmas and New year, Stay safe and keep well and lets hope that 2021 will see us all being able to get back together again.

A lovely collection of cards Brenda and your WLCB one is gorgeous. I really do hope that Daisy is doing ok - thankfully Lucky is improving well now and his eating is picking up too which is a great relief (he lost 2kg in a week!). Have a lovely Christmas, I know that it will be very different, but do the very best that you can xxxxx

Your cards are so beautiful, each one but my favorite this time around is the butterfly and roses card, just loving that gorgeous blue and pretty stenciling.
Looking forward to watching your video, I've not touched my gelli plated for a long time maybe this will inspire me to get it out!

What an array of wonderful cards Brenda, so many different styles and designs. I absolutely love the Gnome shaker card, super colours.
Best to be safe and not sorry Brenda, we are doing the same, having Christmas by ourselves, but will meet up with my son and dil and their dogs for a walk....weather permitting of course, and a bottle of bubbly.
Have a lovely Christmas and here's to a covid free 2021, hugs Kate x x

I love that CB Grunge flower, each time you've used it, it looks so different and versatile and the little shaker card is so sweet. Love the colours you used on the fairy card, looks very magical.
I think Christmas will be very different for lots of folks, but best to stay safe, and I hope it's still enjoyable for you.

You are so productive, Brenda! 100 Christmas cards... and the rest!!! A great collection today with so many techniques and styles. I enjoyed seeing you work too!
Hope Daisy will be back to her old self by Christmas so you can have a great, albeit quiet, Christmas.
At this stage I agree with you it's more about your own risks and those of the people you meet rather than ever changing diktats from our leaders... Yesterday I was in Tier 2, today Tier 3 and tomorrow... Tier 4. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do anymore!!!

Quest'anno Natale sarà davvero diverso, purtroppo. Cerca di passarlo serenamente e in salute.
Un grande abbraccio, Buon Natale!!!

Beautiful cards--especially love the wreath cards, Brenda! So sorry Daisy isn't doing well--hard to have furbabies not feeling good. If only people cared enough not to congregate so we might all still be here for next Christmas! So many deaths & so many could have been prevented. Very sad year, but we have hope for 2021!

Another fabulous selection Brenda, the wreaths are my particular favourites. I hope Daisy is recovering well, poor girlie. As you can tell from the late commenting here it has been manic at work. Looks like we will be vaccinating early in the New Year, joining forces with two other surgeries locally. Christmas is going to be very strange indeed but it's only one year and we can catch up with our loved ones next year!! Wishing you a healthy and peaceful Christmas Brenda xx

I hope you enjoyed your quiet Christmas this year Brenda, we can all live in hopes of a better 2021 and by the Spring that things will be a little less restrictive. Gorgeous cards here again, sorry I missed this post at the time - the lead up to Christmas for me is hectic with craft fairs and farmers markets where I sell my cards. This year November's markets were cancelled so all efforts were aimed at the late December ones after we came out of lockdown.
Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year, take care,
Lorraine
