Autumn colours

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts, I am this weeks host and as it's almost the end of September and Nature is taking on a new coat my theme is 'Autumn'. The prize is a set of Tattered Lace Autumnal embossing folders.

My top card has a bit of a splattery background using Oxides and I dragged an old credit card across a few sections when still wet to get a bit more interest. The leaves are Penny Black layering stamps which I stamped with Oxides and water using the stamp platform. A sentiment, also PB and some white splatters to finish.

This one has a Distress Ink and stencilled background, the Penny Black Chinese Lanterns inked direct to stamp in the same way as the leaves above and a PB sentiment.

I do hope you will join in this week and look forward to visiting al your Autumnal creations.

My lovely garden

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts, our host this week is Helene with the theme of  'My Lovely Garden' and we have a pretty set of floral layering stamps for this weeks winner.

I made this one quite a time back and found it lurking in my image folder and thought it fitted the theme perfectly. I love Hollyhocks which make a beautiful cottage garden border display in June along with Digitalis, together they offer so much colour.

I repeat stamped the Penny Black image which is a good old wood mounted stamp so you will know a good few years old, coloured in and added a mask for the sun and some gently shading with Pan Pastels. The sentiment is also PB.

Random Org., has spun the names from last Saturday's post and I am pleased to tell you the winner of the Altenew stamp set is comment number 18 Anne.......please mail me so I can send you prize.

Happy weekend all.

Fairies at the stream

Morning Peeps, nearly did it again, scheduled the mid month inspirational posts at  Stamping Sensation and We Love Chocolate Baroque and forgot to to one on mu own blog, so it's a quick post with my shares.

At the top you can see my Fairy creation using all Lavinia stamps, where they are having great fun by the stream in the Great Outdoors.

Here are my two Chocolate Baroque shares, the above uses the CB Honey Bee stamp set, with a stencilled and texture paste background. And below is the beautiful CB Katya, along with CB Butterflies and quote, I've put links to the stamps used on the challenge post today.

And one final one I also found lurking in my files, Stampscape stamps and Pan Pastels.

Thanks for popping in today,

Happy 11th Birthday Allsorts Challenge

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Allsorts where this week Lynn is hosting our belated Birthday celebrations.

This should have taken place way back in May but we felt it wasn't the right time with the World trying to come to terms with a Pandemic. We have a wonderful prize of a set of 96 Arteza brush pens, plus a couple more prizes as well. There are also prizes to be won in the individual DT's blogs, so do make sure you pop round and visit the team.......my giveaway is further down and I will announce the winner next Saturday from those who follow my blog and have left a comment on this post.

Our theme is 'I Love................' and what we would like to see are creations displaying what you love to do in your crafting, be it design and style, type of image, colours, there are endless options. My "I Love............" comes in the form of Inks, Flowers, Bold Colours and a bit of Grunge, all of which are encompassed into both of my creations.

The top card has an Oxide and Acrylic paint background along with some stencilling, the Penny Black blooms stamped onto an inked piece of card, cut out and placed onto the base and the stems drawn in with a black Distress Marker. The sentiment is also PB stamped onto black card and embossed with details white EP. The black spots are one of the worker stamps from CB Make your Mark and the numbers Small Graph Paper, I have used these sets so many times since their release earlier this year

One if our sponsors is Pinksy Doodles a new venture by Clair who used to be one of our DT's. She kindly sent the DT some of her papers to use so my second creation which is also one of my samples from Thursday's Chocolate Baroque One Day Special on Hochanda encompasses two sheets paper pieced onto one of the new Blueprint stamps. A lightly brayered background to one side of the card and some script using a stencil and texture paste. After stamping I added the flowers and leaves cut from the papers, coloured the stems and a bit of shading to the brickwork. The silhouette sentiment is from the same set and each of the four new sets has one to match the flower. The 'No 4' is a worker stamp from one of the new Blueprint sets but I confess I am not sure which one......I do keep my stamps on sheets in sets well catalogued but afraid some of the tiny ones do tend to get mixed up..........you can but imagine the problem I have with Butterflies and sentiments!

My giveaway for the winner selected by Random Org., from the comments left on my blog will receive this Altenew stamp set.

I do hope you are going to join in our celebration challenge this week and look forward to seeing all your "I Love's".

Curiosity is the key.........and now all is revealed

Time for our new monthly challenges at Stamping Sensation and We Love Chocolate Baroque........yes a whole new direction for us and I have to say it's been a pretty manic week or so putting everything in place, not helped by Blogger repeatedly trying to change to the new format. You can read more on the challenge blog. Our themes are 'The Great Outdoors' and 'Wings with an Anything Goes option' and of course great prizes to be won.

A heads up that Lesley of Chocolate Baroque will be launching a One Day Special on Hochanda TV at 6pm Wednesday with some must have stamps.

It had to be a Butterfly and lots of inkiness for my Chocolate Baroque challenge creation. Oxides were added from a piece of acetate to get a more controlled application, worker stamps from Make your Mark which is becoming one of my most used CB sets, the beautiful Butterfly from Tangled Garden and inspirational quote from Artistic Affirmations stamped onto vellum and cut into three. To finish some index clips.

My Stamping Sensations scene uses Penny Black stamps, Distress Inks to build up the background, a masked sun and an Emerson computer generated sentiment printed in white onto back card.

I do hope you will join us this month and look forward to visiting all your entries.

Let the Butterflies Dance

Morning Peeps, it's been a bit of a hectic week, I've been busily working at something which will be revealed tomorrow and I had a new first on Wednesday, I was invited to attended a NICE appraisal meeting as their Expert Patient Witness. The Zoom meeting was to consider if Emgality (Galcanezumab) which is the migraine injections I've been on since April and the first drug that has ever worked in reducing my chronic 20 a month migraines, should be made available on the NHS in England (it already is in Scotland). So after the presentations by the drug company, doctors etc., the 62 present were invited to question me, they were kind and I didn't feel under pressure and actually found the whole experience interesting. The decision is awaited, I will be notified as soon as it is although had to sign a NDA so won't be able to share until it's made public.

Onto our new challenge at Allsorts, our host this week is Ellie and she would like to see 'Hand coloured images'. Our prize comes from Chocolate Baroque who will be back on our screen for a One Day Special starting 6pm Wednesday 9th September, the new stamps are stunning........I know I am biased, but honestly they really are.

Most know I'm not a colourise, it's something I just don't enjoy or am very accomplished at, but a challenge is a challenge!! So I have combined a bit of colouring on a Butterfly with a comfort zone inky stencilled background of Oxide inks, Chocolate Baroque stencils and worker stamps. A whiteboard circle feature onto which I placed a Butterfly from the new Floral Clock set which was so popular and sold out on Hochanda last month.
Our 11th Birthday at Allsorts was way back in May but we just didn't feel it was appropriate to celebrate at that time with World events as they were with the Pandemic. The Word remains in turmoil and it's slow progress returning to some form of normality, if indeed we ever will, but we decided a belated Birthday celebration might be just the thing to give us something different to focus on. So I hope you will help us spread the word by displaying the above banner on your own blogs and joining us next week.
