Morning Peeps, time for our mid month posts at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More challenges, I also have a couple of shares from my post over at the Chocolate Baroque DT blog a couple of days ago.
So did you get the storms and rain at the weekend? We did, it dropped 5.5inches in one afternoon resulting in two rooms flooding but we are on split levels and with some persuasion digging trenches outside it drained quickly and damage minimal. Unfortunately not the same for our daughter across the courtyard, her house sits slightly lower than ours and three of her living rooms flooded, it was like a huge paddling pool. We got some of her smaller furniture moved to the kitchen and library but it was a losing battle as the water kept coming. The insurance assessor has recommended everything needs replacing including the oak floors, skirtings and re-decoration and even the piano is being sent away for a refurb as he said black water will cause long term damage.
So onto my cards and a very lemon one at the top using stencils and Distress Inks to create the background, a Penny Black bloom called Dreamy which is a good few years old along with a new PB sentiment from Blooming Sentiments. Finally some doodling around the edge and flicks of white pen..........on the white pen front I would be interested to know which ones you find the best for 'flicking', I've got two or three but it seems difficult to get a good solid white.
My Stamping Sensations card also uses a Penny Black stamp, Distress Inks to add the colour and simply matted and layered, a quick and easy card.
You will find all details of my Chocolate Baroque shares on the DT blog, link above and the stamps from the Native American collection here and here.
Have a good week everyone.

So sorry to hear about the damage the rain caused to yours and your daughter's place. Must be heartbreaking. Love your cards. Sending hugs.
Sorry to hear about all your flooding, I have you can quickly get it all back to normal.
Lovely cards Brenda, as always
Fabulous cards Brenda....sorry to hear about your flooding we were so lucky no flooding and very little rain
Anne
Wonderful cards!
sorry to hear about flooding ... we have very little rain here.
hugs
Lovely makes B.
Flood water is the worst - one of the advantages of living at the top of a moor is although we get high winds and lashing rain the water runs down to the valley!
Be interested to know about the white pen recommendations - let me know! x
Love the yellow theme running thoughout your selection of cards. Hope you have managed to sort the flooding out. Hugs Mrs A.
Wauw wat zijn je kaarten weer prachtig vooral de kaart met de boom vind ik schitterend
Groetjes Gerrie
Love the flowerbackground and the scene! The new CB's are just not 'my cuo of tea'... Hope you get a bit back to normal with the more normal temperature... Hugs, Gerrina
They look wonderful Brenda.
Such a pain in the bum all the rain for you and especially your daughter, x
So sorry to hear of the flooding Brenda, that must be the most awful experience, so much damage it does too, and you just don't need that kind of stress.
Such beautifully designed cards, beautifully coloured too, take care Kate x
I love the 'modern' look you've given the the PB Dreamy stamp. fabulous and I love the country scene. The CB cards would be great for a man.
Sorry to hear about the flooding, it must be so distressing for you all.
Avril xx
Fabulous makes Brenda and that PB one is so unbelievably fresh - I love it! Sorry to read of your problems with the rain Brenda, it did come down rather heavily didn't it xxxx
Two more beautiful cards Brenda . I love the simplicity of the first one . Hope you have managed to clear up after the rain . What a summer it has been ! Worse that we needed a good one especially this year whilst at home . love J
Gorgeous makes Brenda, sorry about the floods. We came close once to flooding but I think it was due to the neighbour doing renovations because it never happened before or since x
Fabulous cards Brenda and impressive doodling on your top card. Not had much rain here so sorry to hear about your downpour and the damage caused x
Abbracci!!
A brilliant collection of card, lots of great images, colours and designs. I can not remember you using so much yellow before.

so sorry to read about the flooding, hope your daughter has it sorted out now.
Love the doodling on the first card, it looks fab. I love every white pen I buy until it inevitably drys up, I think the posca pens are good for flicking though.
What fabulous cards, Brenda! I am in love with the floral stamp on your first card. They are all beautiful! Hugs, de
So sorry your and your daughter's houses have been flooded, such an inconvenience and unpleasantness for months to come. Where I live we were lucky not being flooded... we saw the storms over London and skirting around our village but no just a bit of drizzle not even enough to water the garden! My man and gardener is not best pleased!
Wonderful cards by the way Brenda, you know I love a scene... x
So sorry to hear about your daughters flood, how dreadful. Hope everything gets sorted quickly. Such lovely cards xx
Hi Brenda!
Just popping by to say Hi, trying to get creative again
and find new inspiration and positive energy.
Your summer card in the last post is wonderful!
I wish you a healthy week.
Sussie :)
What a mess the flooding has been. It will take a lot of time to clean up.
Your cards are all lovely and stylish as allways and so well designed. Marlies x
WOW, what a great selection of cards. Love your doodling, wish I had the confidence to do this.

Beautiful cards Brenda love the sketched look and gorgeous yellows. So sorry you have had flooding it must be heartbreaking for your daughter, let’s hope there are no more downpours. Many thanks for your advice re blogger, I have tried to resist reverting to the old blogger as I know the new one is here to stay and that we will have to get used to it, my laptop has done a Microsoft update overnight and this morning I could load a photo so fingers crossed it may have solved the issue.
Pat xx
Fabulous array of your cards Brenda. The vivid yellow contrast on the black is stunning
Have a good weekend

So sorry to hear of your flooding problems in your daughters and a little in your home. We have been lucky and missed the storms here in East Yorkshire. Sending hugs to you all. Loving your top yellow card. So zingy. The rest are beautiful as always. Take care honey xx
So sorry about the storm damage. Love the tree card, Brenda! The best thing I've found for solid white splatters is Windsor & Newton white gouache.
Stunning makes and most gorgeous stamp and colour combo. x
Enjoy your weekend
Popped over to say thank you for your lovely comment and was immediately struck by your first card, it is Fantastic and right up my street, but I cannot help regarding white pen flicking sorry. Then reading about your and your daughters misfortunes with flooding. The east side of the island has taken a fair bit of water this year it must be ghastly having so much damage and all the work that has to be done to put things back to how they were. You all have my sympathy and I hope you can get things done quickly. Please let us have a dry winter this time. x
How horrible to be flooded like that and it always takes so long to get these things sorted. We have escaped all the bad storms and although we did get some rain we are still very dry. I love your cards this week. I love the looseness of the first one, the wonderful scene and colour of the second, the unusual way you have added colour on the third and the amazing sentiment and background on the fourth. Thank you for all the inspiration xx
How awful to read about your flooding incident Brenda, I'm late visiting too so I hope things have improved since last week.
A fabulous array of cards yet again, what a gorgeous selection of stamps you must have in your collection.
Lorraine
