Red, Red, Red..............

Related image

Before I move on to sharing my various DT makes, I have to include a photo of the boys in Red after our win against Spurs to lift the Champions League Cup last night. It wasn't a particularly pretty game in Madrid but the outcome was what millions of us Liverpool fans have been dreaming of. Well done boys and especially Mr K for his inspiration and belief that his "boys" could reign supreme in Europe.

So back to craft and it's time for our  new challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'Show your True Colours' and 'Blossoms, Butterflies and Bugs'As well as my DT makes, I have created a card for the current Butterfly Challenge, what with one thing and another I have not joined in for ages so thought it was about time I put that right,

My PB&M share at the top uses Penny Black Poppies stamped in a pale coloured Distress Ink so that the outline is not visible and I then coloured in with Koh-I-Noor paint, added a pale wash around the image and a Penny Black sentiment.

More Penny Black for Stamping Sensations along with a Visible Image sentiment, I coloured the flowers with watercolour pencils and stamped the image with Versafine black, I love the aged feel to this stamp.

Another for Stamping Sensations, this time using Visible Image Stay Wild set stamped in Versafine black on a bright Oxide ink background plus some stencilled circles using gesso, the black elements down the side are stamps from Honey Doo.

And to complete my post another Penny Black one, this time using another of the new release flowers and Butterflies with matching dies, an Oxide background, texture paste and stencilling and a PB sentiment.

So, now for my Butterfly Challenge share, the requirements this time are Gatefold, Gingham, Gold, Gun Metal, Granny Smith, Gems and of course a Butterfly. I must admit Valery-Anne has set us quite a task this time but once I got my head round all those elements I think I have managed to incorporate them all.

I used a piece of grey card (aka Gun Metal) to create the Gatefold base, some Granny Smith Gingham on the two front sections onto which I stamped various Lavinia stamps and added some Gold glitter. For the inside I used Oxides for a background and stamped a large Butterfly and heat embossed with detail Gold  EP. I added a couple more punched Butterflies cut from the gingham and popped a Gem in the thorax of both, just realised they are not visible on the photo but promise they are there.

I hope you will pop over to the challenge blogs and check out the creation from my team mates.

Wow! How on earth did you manage to incorporate all those 'demands' for the B Challenge, Brenda? Well done just for getting them all in but also for making a beautiful card, with lots of lovely fantasy images.
I love all your cards but the poppies are stunning - that yellow colouring makes such a difference and really makes them stand out - and I absolutely love your Visible Image card, too. How could I not with all that yummy colour? I love graphic stamps, too but the elements on the background all come together perfectly to create a subtle backdrop - brilliant!
So glad your team won and you had an exciting day - lots of emotion all around, I think, with being out with the family earlier, too. Best result possible for you.
Thank you for such a mixed bag of gorgeousness. Lovely challenge themes, too :-)

Mo's T shirt was just the job last night B! Might be a bit smelly for the victory parade but hey ho!
As you say not the mega football we have been spoilt with of late but who cares! Number 6 on the mantelpiece and Ol' Big Ears is back home!
Great selection showcasing your talents.... and a perfect pic to start your post today! x

Hi Brenda, I can image your excitement and happiness when Liverpool has won! :D So glad for you! Today you have been so busy in the craftroom, wow!! How many glorious cards! Love so much the no-line poppies, great colouring! The two Visible Images pieces are so striking and that PB yellow flower with the oxides background is a feast for the soul, so summery!!
I have put my tomatoes in the soil and some zucchine, insalata, peperoni, fagiolini, ravanelli etc etc.... A busy day for me, but I'm happy that now the sun is shining and they can finally grow!! Hope to have tomatoes enough to make the tomato sauce, last year they weren't too much. So glad to hear that also you make your own tomato sauce!! :D Great!! :)
The last card is my favourite, LOVE how you interpreted the Butterfly Challenge elements and the gatefold with all these Lavinia stamps and the gorgeous butterfly inside!!!! The whole composition looks adorable and so different!! Amazing work!
Hugs, have a lovely rest of Sunday!

A fabulous set of cards Brenda, all with gorgeous images and colours plus super sentiments.

Chris thinks that why it may have looked not a prett game and a bit messy it was probably due to the heat, apparently it was 30 degs and it really should not have been played there as both sides were flagging.
