Back Over the Rainbow

Morning Peeps, it's the 18th of the months which means we have our mid month inspirational posts over at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More challenges where are themes are 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow and 'Going Round in Circles'. Both challenges run until Wednesday 3rd April so there is still plenty of time to join in or to add a second or third entry.

My first Stamping Sensations piece has a Distress Ink colour-wash background dabbed up from a craft mat onto which I stamped a Chocolate Baroque image with Versafine black, coloured in and stamped the Butterfly again onto vellum and decoupaged and stamped an Incylicious sentiment.

My second SS piece has a similar background a stencilled skyline and then a Stamp Addicts Dove stamped along with a little sentiment tag tied with some ribbon, this was a recent sample for them which I believe is coming up on a Hochanda TV show this coming weekend.

My Penny Black creation uses another on the case cards from Which Crafts, I started by stamping (yet again) Dance, Sing, Love onto a background piece along with Blush using second generating stamping, then assembles the frame. Next I stamped and cut out three First Dance Lilies using Distress Markers is deep pink and red shades, pierced the centres and added some tiny pearl stamens and placed onto the frame along with some Tattered Lace Ivy and pearls.

Have a good week all, mine is going to be one of preparation ahead of Alex coming home for a break from his travels, so looking forward to having him back home for a while.

Love those lilies, Brenda, but the rainbows are gorgeous - subtle and dreamy, the way they often are in real life. Lovely.

Wow two very clever and lovely cards, I’ll be honest I’m not big, on rainbow cards but they do well!

Hi Brenda, I'm so glad for you about your son coming home for a break! :)
I'm in love with your rainbow cards, such amazing inked backgrounds! The first looks very elegant with the bunch of flowers, the butterfly and the -oh so true- sentiment! And the second one is stunning, fabulous mix of stencilling and stamps! The banner in the beak of the dove is a clever addition!
The PB creation is so sweet with the pink shades and the lovely sentiment in the circle frame! Love the gorgeous lilies, too!!
Take care and have a fabulous week!
