Oh Little Town of Bethlehem

Morning Peeps, it's Saturday and time for our new challenge at Allsorts which this week has been chosen by Ellie who would like our artwork to be inspired by 'A Christmas Carol or Song'. Our sponsor is Tattered Lace.

The stable and three Kings stamps from Stamp Addicts offer several options for a Christmas Carol, but I decided on Oh Little Town of Bethlehem because I was lucky enough to visit there a few years ago. I stamped the focal images with verafine black, then added the background using Pan Pastles, then the rays coming down over the stable. The star is a Chocolate Baroque stamp and my faviourite Christmas sentiment from Penny Black. I would also like to enter this into the current Rudolph Day's challenge over at Mo's blog.

And a second one, a recent Stamp Addcits sample for Hochanda using their village scene and Santa stamps, all stamped into a bauble shaped aperture which i first coloured with Pan Pastels.

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see what my teamies have come up with to inspire you.

This is a wonderful theme at Allsorts this week and I hope to be joining you all at some point. Your cards are beautiful Brenda and my favourite has to be the first one. It’s a beautiful Carol and reminds me of Christmas’ gone by. Fabulous stamping on this card and such a subtle colour palette too. Wishing you a happy weekend. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

Your first pretty creation has one of my all time favorite sentiments, Brenda! The crisp, formal black and white looks regal in contrast to the lowly birth. Wonderful contrast! Your masked village is so sweet inside the ornament shape! Two fabulous, peaceful cards. hugs, de

Love the sharp detailing on the first card, so dramatic and effective. Your second card in the pretty shades of blue is also so effective.

That Penny Black sentiment is one of the most beautiful christmas-ones I have ever seen! And the scene you made is beautiful. Like the other card much, but your first is my favorite...
Hope you have a colourful week; even if you have to add the colours yourself... Hugs, Gerrina

Somehow I missed this post, Brenda, but thankfully I just now saw it. The first one made me gasp--absolutely LOVE it! Now I have to try & find that sentiment stamp! I have lots of old PB stamps, but that isn't one of them. The ornament card is beautiful, too!
