Flower Power

It's time for our challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'One Layer Christmas Cards' and 'Flower Power'. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both.

Above is my Penny Black share, I used the same design as a card I made back in the Summer which I quite liked so thought I would repeat but this time using Penny Black Red Blush.............I know, the Roses are pink but guess that's just astistic licence !

I stamped the flowers onto a piece of Fabriano using versamark and heat embossed with detail white powder, having first given the piece a wash of watered down DI's. Next I coloured in with Spectrum pencils and added some stenciling. Using TL pin dot square dies.........I used every other one in the size graduations and cut the piece into three and then stamped the sentiment which is of course also PB. Finally I layering each piece up with foam pads and fixed onto a square of back and then the base card.

This one is my Stamping Sensations piece but again uses Penny Black stamps, the main one was one of the new Christmas releases called Dressed in Snow and Santa comes from another set called Santa's Visit. I am going to have more of a play with this one as I am sure it can be used for other seasons as well. I used Distress Markers to ink the stamps and Pan Pastels to create the sky. The sentiment is also PB and quite an old wood mounted one.

As usual we have some wonderful prizes on offer so every reason to pop over to the challenge blogs and join in the fun this month.

Brenda, the colors in your cards are lovely - soft and yet striking - to match the beautiful scenes. In your 2nd card I especially like that the browns have been carefully applied on the right side, and hinted at on the left side. Those amazing roses in the first card are incredibly soft looking with the white embossing powder! The stenciled area looks like the wafting scents of your roses - beautifully done, B! hugs, de

Two lovely cards Brenda. The first one for flower power is super, I love the subtleness of the colours (pink roses are allowed - I love pink roses!!). The three dies that you have used to layer this one really give it dimension. The second one for PB, well, you've done the same to me as I often do to you!!!! I WANT THAT STAMP!!!!!! Yes, I think it could easily fit any season too. Lovely makes Brenda xxxx
