Live in the Sunshine

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this month our theme is 'Anything Goes', a nice and easy one over the holiday period when so many of us are busy. As always there is a generous prize of a $20 shopping voucher from FlonzCraft.

I found this heart having a clear out of my overflow craft room........aka one of the spare bedrooms.......so decided to have a play with my new Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Polishes, apparently you can add them direct to wood without a base coat but I had already given the heart a coat of gesso and it blended fine. I used Fern, Aqua, Purple and Gold.

The polish dries almost instantly so next I stenciled the same polishes over the base and...........this is the really good but about the polishes........you can stamp with it was well so I stamped around the edges with a really old Inkadinkadoo stamp. Next stamped the Heartfelt flowers onto a piece of card coloured with the same polishes, cut them out with the matching die and layered up. The sentiment is from Inkylicious, masking each section of the stamp to get three individual pieces, the wording is too close together to just stamp and cut but it is easy enough to do this way. Finally some lace and pearls and finito.

And with all those snippets I am popping right off to the Playground with this one, Miss Di is still under the weather (get well soon Miss) but you know they say about when the cat is away.............

I do hope you will come and join in our challenge.

Wow Brenda thought I was the only one who had an overflow craft room, makes me feel better to know that you do to. In fact because Andrew and I are here alone my craft room overflows into every other bedroom in the house (four in total) he forbids any craft junk as he calls it in our room, don't you think that's a bit mean!!!! lol

Totally awesome heart and how you made it sounds like fun with lots of stencilling and stamping.

Nearly fell off my chair when I read "cut them out" had visions of you using old fashioned scissors but read on and saw "matching die" phew don't do that to me Brenda.

The masking of the words is a great technique. The girls had to do it in my class on Saturday because the snowmen all came on the same stamp. Not sure they liked it though. To much like hard work!!

Anyways another magical make and whoever receives will be totally in awe of it.

Warm crafty hugs from Shirl x x x

Wow gorgeous heart hanger, love the flowers and colour. I smiled to read that you have an 'overflow' craft room. I have a large closet downstairs that handles the overflow, I jokingly call it 'outside storage'. Have a great Sunday xx

I have recently bought some Cosmic Shimmer metallic gilding polish, done loads of playing but not really created anything yet, a bit out of my comfort zone but I love them.
Have a great week.

Just lovely, and must look into these gilding polishes. What a gorgeous heart you turned a plain wooden one into, and the colors are so springlike - very welcome on a gloomy cold December afternoon. Interesting to learn one can stamp with the products too, and your embellies add so much color & sparkle to the beautiful background. TFS & Hope you are feeling ok. Hugs & Merry Christmas too.
