Love is in the air at Allsorts

Good morning to you all, it's time for our new challenge at Allsorts where this week Wendy is preparing us for Valentines Day. Our sponsor is Lets Create and Baker Ross and I have a make further down this post using some of their products.

My first Allsorts piece at the top uses an oldish Penny Black stamp over a Brusho brilliant red background, is seems to be one of the few that is restricted to the one pure colour, unlike most that emit many other colours the more water that is added. I used Tattered Lace Pin Dot Rectangles to make a frame and place it over a section of TL Byzantine trellis, a bow, little gem heart and sentiment which is also Penny Black.

I also have a card for the current Butterfly Challenge which this time round is 'I' for inks and a butterfly. My entry is the card at the top and is one of those I made for the recently released Compendium of Crafting. I masked the top and bottom of a piece of Fabriano and a mask for the sun and used DI's and Pan Pastels to create the background and sponged sunrays. Stamps are Chocolate Baroque, sentiment and Butterflies Tattered Lace. The Butterflies are Trios and after cutting them I inked the top section of the matching embossing folder with DI's before running through the e.bosser, then added detail clear embossing powder and heated.

My second Allsorts make using products from Baker Ross is a word book. I started with letters from the Large Upper Case set and covered them with this really pretty colour palette of Artimo Artpatch, after ripping the papers into smallish pieces you just can't go wrong layering them up randomly using the Varnish to fix them and it's fun as well. I used my Zutter to punch holes for the spine and tied with scraps of coordinating ribbon, then decorated the pages with gems, pearls and flowers.

Happy weekend all and keep warm.

Morning Brenda, more loveliness today, the bunny rabbit has to be my favourite, the scene is fabulous and it's great to see a word book too, I seem to recall having a CDrom full of various designs from quite a few years ago, maybe it's time to dust it off (if Windows 10 will read it!!). Hope today is a good one for you xx

Ah a lovely collection of cards, B., and first one, was so pretty up close and am sure even better IRL.
Have just bitten the bullet (about half an hour ago!) and ordered a set of eight Brushos from an online store here, as they were finally in my price range. Been looking for while. But they've been way too dear.

I like that the second card very nice and loved that you mixed your media with Panpastels, as I do that too, they work a treat.
And the wee book is very lovely too.... I do hope you're keeping fairly well in spite of the cold.

Nice and warm and summery here, sitting with house open screened doors and windows and summer dress at 8:30 pm :) swimming weather.

Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Lovely V.card and the amount of brusho is to the right proportion which gives such a sweet look on the card. As for the second card, like how the butterflies turned out. Lovely mix of artpatch for the last project.

Hi, Brenda! Such a beautiful assortment of cards! Each one very different from the other. How do you think up these wonderful ideas all at the same time? I can't even remember most techniques any more unless I see them on my friend's blogs. So thank you for constantly reminding me and inspiring me with your incredibly imaginative artwork! Hugs, de

That is really interesting to know about the red Brusho. You have gotten a lovely pink hue by diluting it too. I love those butterflies on the second card. Again another interesting technique. Thankyou for fluttering by my inky challenge. hugs Mrs A.

Fabulous card but the bit that really stole my heart is the word book, - wow, stunning!!

Golly, another assortment of beautiful projects. Love the softness of the red brusho coloring. Didn't it overstamp beautifully with the images you selected. A perfect Valentine card. Really like #2 as well, and enjoyed reading about the products combined to achieve this fantastic look. The products you mentioned on the wonderful book, are unfamiliar to me, but you certainly have created something lovely & unique. Your creativity is just phenomenal...and the carry through, even better! TFS & Hugs.

Back again Brenda. Word thingy pounced on me first thing this morning on my first comment. Thought I'd leave it all day and lo and behold it still doesn't like me, I have just made 55 comments and each one had WV. And some were like picking 4 pictures that match...it was driving me crazy but determined to get to visit my friends....what can we do about it. On one foreign on I had 4 tries and on the 5th I guessed it....nearly gave up ...xx

Paying for blogs....never thought of that one. It would be a sad shame to see all of this go down the gurgler as to some of us it's a therapy, pain relief and just sheer pleasure...I know it is to me and to you. I still have the same amount of followers but my old blog has gone down from 600 odd to 500 odd, [don't use that one anyway]..not sure what they are up to but even on this comment I will have to guess what it's got for me....not sure what we can do... thanks for your message.xx

KandA said...

Wow Brenda these are all amazing creations. The first is so elegant and the pink and black are a perfect colour combo (must try that). I would never have guessed that the book was decopatched as it looks just like fabric. But the winner for me has to be the stunning bunny card with the wonderful colouring, brilliant stamping and amazing butterflies.

Not quite so chilly here today and the sun keeps trying to pop out from behind the clouds. Have a good day and keep warm xx
