Elegant 50's fashion and Lets Create flowers

A scheduled post here at we are out for the day with one of the boys and his partner so fingers crossed this appears on time Saturday morning for our new challenge at Allsorts where our theme is 'Use those dies', something I think most of us have in abundance. Our sponsors are our DT Jo who as well as featuring regularly on Create and Craft also runs a craft store Lets Create and our second sponsor is FlonzCraft.

I have used one of my favourite FlonzCraft images 50's Fashion Girl 10, which I have paper pieced with Graphic 45 DP's and mounted onto a Spellbinder frame. I used the same DP for the back panels, some lace, die cut leaves and a handmade rose which I stamped with scrip and dipped into UTEE.

This one uses one of Jo's own range of Lets Create Vintage stamp images, the card is one of the samples I made for Jo some time age using Graphic 45 DP's, Spellbinder dies and paper pieced and decoupled the flowers. It's fairly simple but I think the image is so lovely it needs little more. There are six packs of clear stamps in this range and all stamp out beautifully crisp.

Happy weekend all.

Galloping along the beach

Happy Wednesday Peeps, how's the weather your way ? A bit of a mixed bunch here this week, frosts, rain and a little bit of sunshine in-between but distinctly chilly.

A really quick post before work with a share of a bit of inky fun using a selection of Stampscapes, Sutter and Art Impression stamps and of course Pan Pastels for all the colouring.

Have a good day and catch you all very soon.

Feeding birds

Tracy would like us to concentrate of the guys at Allsorts with the them of All about the Boy. Our sponsors are DigiDarla and Craft Fairy.

Apologies for the lack of visits the last day or two but it's been head down preparing for samples to go back across the pond and also an upcoming Create and Craft programme.

I have used another new design from Nicecrane along with yet more colouring in, two coloured images in one week has to be a first for me. The birds and nest image really appealed to me and is of course very seasonal with all the birds busily nest building in the hedgerows. And I knew I had a perfect Stampendous sentiment to go with it which I stamped into the centre. I distressed all the edges and shaded with Pan Pastels, added some twine and a couple of hinges using TH hardware findings die.

We have a multitude of wild birds in the gardens and yesterday I tried to get a few photos as it was such a lovely sight seeing so many in one place underneath one of the bird feeders, the Robins being very territorial usually chase the Yellowhammers and Tits away, but on this occasion he was too busy feeding. My camera is not great for distance shots, but you get the idea.

We have more than our share of Bullfinches who are such pretty birds. We have also sighted a pair of Honey Buzzards overhead, last year the were quite south from their usual habitat over the villages between here and Peterborough, but looks like they have moved even further south and are a lovely sight with their huge honey coloured wing spans, hence their name.

And finally the beautiful rainbow across the paddocks yesterday, I was unable to get a wide enough shot to capture it all in one photo but it was one of the most vivid I have ever seem, sadly neither end was in our grounds so I didn't bother going out to dig for the pot of gold !

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Reach for the Stars

Morning to you all, this is the post that was scheduled for yesterday but for some reason didn't pop on as planned along with the one on the Penny Black and More blog, I got that one sorted but only just got round to sorting my own blog as we had to rush off the to vet with Holly who is poorly.

So a little later than planned here is my mid month piece for Penny Black and More following our So Sweet theme. More lovely Graphic 45 DP's, Spellbinder card creators and two Penny Black stamps 4078K Reach for the Starts and  the matching sentiment 4075K For the Stars. It's all rather girly and pretty pretty for me but I actually quite like it.

Hope you all have a good Wednesday.

Pretty in Pink

At Allsorts this week our lovely Sarah is going all Pretty in Pink, one I think will appeal to lots of us. Our sponsors are A Passion for Stamps and Nicecrane Designs

As I am a DT for both of our sponsors I have combined products from both on my cards, the images on both are new ones from Nicecrane Designs (links below). I love the pretty flower fairy on the top card with the lovely contrast of deep green and pink, printed her onto white cardstock and then used Pan Pastels to add some background and stamped some Lavinia flowers and tiny fairy. Some little handmade roses using the smallest petal punch from Ruth's Tonic Rose punch and stamp set and lace, the DP is from stash but I think may be Kaiser.

For my second card I broke the habit of a lifetime and did some colouring in as when I saw this image it reminded me of photos of a little girl growing up on a farm more years ago that I care to remember ! I coloured her with watercolour pencils and some Pan Pastels, added some ivy and roses.

Happy weekend all.

Spring Tulips

Good morning Peeps, we have quite a heavy fog here this morning but I am hopeful it will burn off and give way to a bit more sunshine as it's been glorious the last few days and hope you have had some of the same.

Just a quick share before I get stuck into the files sitting on my desk, the stamp is Penny Black which I stamped twice to decoupage the tulip blooms, some stitching round the edge of the back panel, a bow and flower, oh yes and Art Impression sentiment, fairly simple stuff but a hint of Springtime.

Hope you all have a good Thursday.

Sporting ladies

Morning all, today sees the start of our new challenge at Allsorts and Wendy would like to see Sport inspired creations. Our sponsors are Crafty Devils and Scrapper Delight.

Now this theme gave me a bit of a headache I can tell you because apart from a fisherman I don't really have any sport orientated stamps. But I mentioned my dilemma to the lovely Ignacio and he came to my rescue and designed some wonderful women sport images. They are such fun images and I loved them the moment I saw them, so thank you so much Ignacio and I have two cards to share using two of the designs. There are thumbnail links to them below.

For the top card I printed off the image and distressed he edges, did some machine stitching round the base piece of DP, found and old ladies football flyer on the internet and cut some bunting on the Cricut, oh yes and made a little rosette.

My second one using the tennis woman was printed off and mounted onto a Nestie, some large banners using some DP offcuts, roses, die cut leaves and a bow.

Happy weekend all.

Enchanted Spring and winners

A very good morning Peeps, it's finally time to announce the names who have come out in the random draw for my 5th Blogaversary celebrations. I was trilled to see so many of you joining in and would like to send a big thank you to each and every one of you and much as I would love to send a gift to all of you I am afraid I just can't stretch quite that far, so as promised here are the seven lucky Peeps and it's quite cosmopolitan I am pleased to say.....................
Congratulations to you all, please mail me with your full names and postal addy's so I can get your Spellbinders in the post to you. Should any prizes remain unclaimed by Sunday 9th they will be re-drawn and new winners notfied by mail or comment on their blogs.

OK that's the business side of things dealt with and now for some crafty shares using the new Enchanted Spring designs which Ignacio at Nicerane very kindly allowed me to work with ahead of their release. There is something so alluring about the deigns and I was instantly drawn to them and have thoroughly enjoyed working with them and there are more in the pipeline. If you would like to buy this design sheet you will find it by clicking on the thumbnail below.

The one at the top was made using the waste left from cutting a TH Cabinet frame for the card below, I had the offcuts laying on my desk for a day or so and knew there must be a way of using them and came up with the idea.................about 2am as you do if you dream cardmaking as I gather many of us do..........of making them into a type of tunnel card by scoring a piece of card for the base and adhering it to the back of the aperture section. I printed the design three times and decoupaged the little girl and added die cut vines and roses around the front and am actually quite pleased with the finished result. And the good thing is it flatens to go into an envelope.

So as I mentioned above, this one I was initially making with the three die cut shapes. Two images from the same design sheet and a Penny Black sentiment in the centre. I stamped the base with a Penny Black background stamp, randomly added some grunge paste through a mask...........not terribly tidily as you can see, then matted the images, sentiment and finally a bow, flower, metal leaves and butterflies which come from Nicecrane's Butterfly Twinchie design sheet (also found below).

And just the one more and again a photo beautifully enhanced by Ignacio using another of the images from the same design sheet along with Kaisercraft DP which picks out the image colours perfectly.

Hope you all have a good Thursday.

Just for You or is that Me

Morning Peeps, the first Monday of the month so time for our February challenge at FlonzCraft Vintage Stamping Challengese where our theme for this month is Just for You, something a little different as we would like you to make cards for yourself - ones that you would enjoy receiving.

I also have my Monday shares for Prickly Pear and Nicecrane, so it's a bit of a jam packed post.

So the brief was quite easy, I knew I would like vivid colour, handmade flowers/s a butterfly of course, plus a bit of distressing. I used Dylusions for the background followed by a spritz of Glimmer Mist, these lovely FlonzCraft 20's fashion ladies from which I bleached the colour, used FlonzCraft Baroque border and blossoms around the edges and stamped the sentiment and butterfly (both Flonz) on the offcuts. Some harlequins using a mask and grunge paste, a rose made with Tonic's punch and stamp Rose set and the leaves cut with a die and embossed with purple embossing powder.

I also have this weeks DT share for Prickly Pear and it's another using the lovely Paris in Spring stamp and sentiment. I used the Cricut to cut a hear aperture and then coloured through using Pan Pastels, then  removed the mask and stamped the main image and sentiment. I tired some cord across the corners and I figure it's actually a little CAS, something normally off my radar.

And finally my Nicecrane cards using some of Ignacio's new Spring Floral designs...................and keep an eye out because there are also some wonderful new fairy designs which I will share later in the week but meantime and there is a sneak peek in the thumbnails below. I had been playing around trying to make these kinetic style cards and eventually worked out a template on the Cricut, then  purely by chance I saw a Sizzix die that created the shape and this is the result. The sentiment is Penny Black.

And this one used one of the Vintage Floral designs, some LOTV DP matted onto a nestie frame and some punched corners.

I hope you all have a good week.
