Meet Poppy, the latest addition to the family

Morning Peeps, it's Nicolas turn to host this weeks theme at Allsorts and she would like us to do some 'Paper Piecing', so one I have really enjoyed doing. But before I move on to that, I would like to introduce you to Poppy, the latest additional to our four legged family.

She is a ten week old rough coated Parson Jack Russell and the children's surprise Fathers Day present for hubby and my was he surprised when she arrived last evening. Luckily I was already in on the secret and have been covertly collecting things ready for her arrival all week.

She seems to have settled in as if she had been here for weeks and was soon comfortably asleep on Dad's lap after an hour or so's rough and tumble with Pixie who is now six months, whilst the more mature watched on in resigned acceptance that the family has grown again.

It seems to be taking forever to get back into the crafty and blogging mode, holidays are great but I always seem to take ages to get my train of crafty though moving again, so I am hoping this weekend I can buckle down and get those juices flowing again and actually make a card.

As Ruth from A Passion for Stamps is our sponsor this week, my card is a double DT piece using her lovely Orchid image which I have paper pieced with some Bo Bunny DP's. The spotty background was created using a mask which I inked with versafine before running it through the GC, then brushing with perfect pearls which stick to the inked sections and the spots create a resist. Some swirls, flowers and pins and finito.

I would like to enter this card in to the following challenge:

Pretty Little Ribbons - Lots of Layers

Finding her way around

Playtime with Pixie

Happy weekend to you all.

Those two little terriers are going to have such fun & look absolutely delightful together. You sent me on a little journey finding out about the differences between the two types........ The combination of Labradors & jack Russells sounds jut brilliant with the horses.
Take care getting back into the swing of things - intrigued by your spotty background & love the paper piecing of the flowers - lovely dimension.

Brenda Poppy is absolutely gorgeous and its so nice to see that Pixie has a wee friend to rough and tumble with too. My hubby goes out into the garden every day and wrestles with Nimbus! Yes, she may be a cat but she absolutely LOVES it. She expects it every day, its part of her routine to give her Daddy a good beating, lol. She chases him around the garden trying the grab onto his legs! Its quite hilarious to watch a 6Ft rugby build man with a shaved head run around the garden screaming like a 12 year old girl as he's being chased by a small grey furball! And he has the scars to prove it too, lol. Thing is with cats, when they play they still like to use claws and teeth! Though when she plays with me, she knows Mummy is boss and only ever pads me! No claws or teeth allowed with me, lol. But Hubby gets the full wrath of Nimbus, teeth, claws and all. Anyway, enough of our antics with Nimbus, lol. This card is really gorgeous. I love the image and the colours are beautiful. Its great to see you back Brenda. Lee x

Stunning card Brenda, lovely colours and so elegant.

And what can I say about Poppy? She looks adorable. Nice for Pixie to have someone to play with. Labs can be a wee bit rough for a small dog!

I've had so many things on this week that I've hardly had time to craft or even blog. At least I got some images coloured at my crop today so now all I need to do is catch up with blogging!

Take care,

Kat xx

Back again for another look at your sweet new puppy and your other young one. I love how dogs play. I called them 'brothers' yesterday, I always think dogs as males as I'm a cat lady. 'She' is sweet and so is her 'sister'? ... anyway enjoy !
