How doth the little honey bee

Morning Peeps, this weeks Allsorts theme is hosted by Susan who would like to see some 'Sweet Treats'. Our sponsor is Marianne Designs with another lovely prize. I also have a share for the current Butterfly Challenge and by the skin of my teeth a share for Pixie's Snippets Playground, I've not shown my face for far too long at both.

Initially I was lost with this theme as cupcakes and all those cute stamps don't feature in my stash. Then a light bulb moment as I was working on Chocolate Baroque samples for Hochanda TV........honey is sweet and I use it often in my baking so there was my sweet treat.

I love poetry and often use sections from poems in my artwork and this time it was Isaac Watts 'How doth the little honey bee' that provided my inspiration. The card comes from a show a couple of months ago using quite a few stamps from CB's Honey Bee set including the beautiful Digitalis which after Poppies are my favourite flower. After creating a sunny Distress Ink background I stamped the images, colourd the flowers, bees and beehive, printed out the sentiment, cut into three and added along with some decoupaged bees which are on the same stamp set. This is also my Snippets share as the poem was printed into offcuts and the Bees stamped onto left over Fabriano.

On to my Butterfly Challenge, I have not managed too many of the options in the Butterfly wheel, I think just the colours Vermillion and Gold, a Vertical Pattern and of course the Butterflies which are all made with shrink plastic. Stamps are all Chocolate Baroque along with a distress oxide background and the darker ferns are heat embossed with Vermilion Sparkle although that sparkle is non too evident on my photo.

Blogger notifications solution

At last there seems to be a solution to the e.mail notification problems on Blogger, I missed the posts yesterday on their help forum but fortunately my Allsorts teamies Kath didn't so thanks to her all three of my DT teams can keep in touch with one another again. So for those of you who still have the problem this is the solution.........

• Go to your Blog dashboard and select settings
• Then 'posts, comments and sharing' 
• Copy all the mail addys in the text boxes, remove them and click save top right
• Then paste them back in again and click save
• Do exactly the same in the 'email' setting below the above one

All addys will receive a mail asking them to subscribe or decline and once they have returned that clicking subscribe all is back to normal, we have checked it out on our DT blogs and it works.

It's such a simple solution and now makes perfect sense as Blogger/Google needed everyone's consent to keep sending mails in order to comply with GDPR. But why they didn't explain that somewhere a month ago I have no idea.

Garden flowers

Good morning Peeps, a quick post with my mind month inspirational shares for Penny Black and More and Stamping Sensations challenges where our themes are 'In my Garden' and 'Anything Goes'.

I am guessing lots of you are sick and fed up with Blogger's antics in not sending new post and comment notifications. Although I have never bothered with the option on my own blog, it's invaluable on the DT blogs and whilst I know you can leave a comment and ask to get updates from then on, that's of little help if you don't know there is a new post in the first place and subsequent comments before your own. It beggars belief that an organisation the size of Google seem unable to sort out their problem and almost four weeks after GDPR is still looking for a "fix". I have seriously considered looking elsewhere for a platform to use for DT blog purposes as it's like working in the dark. OK, moan over, but it is sooooooo very frustrating.

My Penny Black shares all stem from a 'play day' I had before we went on holiday when my new stamps had just arrived from PB's latest releases. All have been created with the same distress ink to stamp technique and a spritz of water before stamping. On the top one I masked the edges after stamping  the bloom and sponged some DI tea die and lightly stamped PB Harlequin background.

This one is my Stamping Sensations share using Altenew stamps and the lovely sentiment from this months sponsor Visible Image.

Penny Black Roses and sentiment stamped and heat embossed with detail black and coloured in with sparkle pens.

Here I used an acrylic block, DI's and water to 'stamp' the background and the stamped the Lilacs and sentiment.

Dies at Allsorts and Chocolate Baroque

Morning Peeps, home from our travels after a very relaxing couple of weeks in the sun, worse part as always is coming home and trying to get back into the swing of things.

This weeks Allsorts theme is hosted by Kath who would like us to 'Use at least two dies'. Our sponsor is Stickeryou offering one lucky winner a whopping $65 store voucher. I also have my shares from my post over at Chocolate Baroque a couple of days ago plus some 15 minute cards from the post there today.

It seems to be CB all the way on this post, for the top card I used six different TL dies to cut the base shape and mats and layers, stamping the top layers with a mixture of Chocolate Baroque stamps and colouring in with sparkle pens. Some ribbons and liquid pearls to finish. That seems like a rather quick explanation, but the dies do all the work really.

Another CB sample using used to cut the aperture Pan Pastels for the background and stamping using Distress Markers direct to stamp, along with a sentiment which is also CB.

Ladies night out

Morning Peeps, this weeks Allsorts theme is hosted by Tracy  and is 'Ladies Night Out'.  Our sponsor is Swedish House Crafts who are offering a £15 store voucher for one lucky winner.

I had these ladies on a Rice Paper sheet so decided the eras were about right for my Granny and Mum and this may well have been how they dressed for a night out. I covered the 6 x 8 canvas with gesso and then stippled some texture paste, when dry I lightly sponged DI's around the edges. Next I added the cut out ladies and their respective dates, stamped an Inkylicious sentiment and some leaves using a CB stencil and DI.

There's lots of inspiration to be seen from my team mates over at the challenge blog so please do pop over and show them some love.

Believe, wish, hope

Hello Peeps, scheduled posts still so hoping Blogger is behaving. It's time for our  new challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'Anything Goes' and 'In the Garden'. As always there are wonderful prizes to be won at both. 

Starting with my PB&M creation, I started with a Distress Ink background of Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemon and Twisted Citron, I then stamped the lovely Jubilant PB stamps which I always think looks very much like a Hibiscus. Then I stamped it again, coloured in with Spectrum pencils and cut out to decoupage. Some stenciling to the background and the words which are computer generated.

I bought this Visible Image stamp set a while ago but being unwell for so long coupled with a missing mojo it only recently saw ink. I started with a whiteboard tag which I covered with gesso and then several colours of DI followed by a spritz of water to blend the colours.  Next some random harlequin stenciling then the images stamped with Versafine black and some seam binding.

The same stamp set again, this time onto a Brushop background, the images stamped with the same ink as above and I used a stencil to ground the horses, I've no idea the make of the stencil or how to describe it really, sort of random streaks of lightening.

And a close up of the decoupages flowers.

And one more using the beautiful new Garden Gems stamp along with a pretty old wood mounted one from PB called Time. As usual I inked the stamp with Distress Markers and spritzed with water before stamping, added some harlequins using a stencil and DI and a few gems here and there.

Baby, baby and fanciful feathers

Another of the tri-fold cards I shared a few weeks ago here when I gave the dimensions for cutting and scoring. The background is Distress Oxides followed by stamping with several different baby themes stamps, mostly really old wood mounted ones and some have no name I'm afraid other than the Bunnies which are Stamps Happen, used to love their stamps but have a feeling they are no longer about. I also added some sponged polka dots using a stencil.
