Glorious Roses

Morning Peeps another new two week challenge at Allsorts, Mervi is our host and her theme is 'Anything Goes with the option of Roses'. Our prize is the beautiful Chocolate Baroque Floribunda Net stamp.

A heads up that Lesley will be back at The Craft Store this Friday 6th August at 9am and 1pm, one show will be all about Christmas and the other featuring some new and very different A4 stamp sets using artwork by Fiona Randall. I will be sharing one or two of them over the next few days.

For the above creation I used two CB Whiteboard Hearts covered with acrylic pains and crackle glaze, then stamping the berries from CB Autumn Poppy, quote from my Life is so much Better and Roses from Floral Perfumery.

My second creation uses Ruth's Wild Roses which you will find on her web site Ruth Hamilton Design. I created my own DP using some small CB worker stamps, coloured the blooms with some new metallic pens Karin Deco Brush which work extremely well on black card but they are opaque so you do lose a lot of the stamp detail. Dies for the fancy edge and sentiment from Life is so much Better.

Happy weekend everyone and thanks for your kind visits.

Better late than never!!

Afternoon Peeps, not my normal time of day to post at all and hanging my head in shame as I have missed two DT posts so need to put that right and apologise to my teamies at River of Creativity and the Chocolate Baroque DT for my tardy behaviour.

I've been rather under the weather with an eight day migraine, culminating in another hemiplegic and loss of vision with a short sharp dose of steroids needed to kick start me, but please don't think I'm complaining as there are always those worse off. To be honest, since I started the CGRP injections, in my case Emgality sixteen months ago, the results have been amazing going from 20 migraine days a month for most of my adult life to as few as four which is over and above the drug company Lily's expectations. So much so that I am the Lily/NICE patient expert witness on their NHS videos for the drug.

So, here are my shares. At River of River of Creativity our 'No Hearts of Mushy Stuff' theme is in full swing with a few days still to go so why no come join in. We are a challenge about all styles and types of craft so something for everyone. And my DT post for Chocolate Baroque is here, one card above the other below.

Note: Some may have seen this a couple of weeks ago, below is the one I should have posted then 😏 confused.com comes to mind

And my second CB share.....

A stormy day in Grimsby maybe, I hear they have a good population of Gulls there?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

New Poppy stamp, more flowers and some steampunk

Morning Peeps, it's mid way inspiration time at We Love Chocolate Baroque and Stamping Sensations challenges where our themes are 'Beautiful Blooms' and 'For a Lady. Lots of feminine creations at SS but all rather slow at WLCB, not sure where all those floral stamps have gone!!

I also have a post today over at the Chocolate Baroque blog here, details of my work are listed there but also sharing my cards in this post and here is the first which was my favourite from those I made for that TV show on the Craft Store. Steampunk is always a bit of a nemesis with me, but I found this one relatively easy, probably because flowers were involved, even if they do have wings!

My Poppy card top of this post is from last weeks Craft Store TV shows uses the brand new Chocolate Baroque Polygon Poppies which I absolutely love, not just the Poppies themselves but all the extra worker stamps like the numbers...........numbers make me so happy on inky cards........ the little hexagons, extra Poppies and text. It's an Oxide background and everything simply stamped in Versafine black.

For this one I used Chocolate Baroque Luv Shack and Rose Perfumery , Pan Pastels for the background and some added TL Ivy leaves around the frame with the Roses.

My SS creation uses Crafty Individuals Spring Flower Garden, a stencilled background and a Kraft die cut frame along with a bow of lace and twine.

And here are my last two from my CB post here.

Hope you have some of this lovely sunshine we are enjoying this weekend.

For a Lady at Allsorts

Morning, time for a new challenge at Allsorts, this week I am your host and my theme is 'Feminine/For a Lady'. This is the first of three two week challenges to take us over the holiday period. Pearlywinks are our sponsor with a £15 store voucher and there is a second prize of three craft stencils.

It was a toss up between Fairies and Flowers but the latter won the day and starting with the above I used Chocolate Baroque Briar Rose Butterfly stamped onto a stencilled background placed into a die cut Tattered Lace frame.

A very similar design using a frame and stencilled background with the lovely Carnation from Ruth Hamilton Design and a sentiment from my Life is So much Better inspirational quote stamp set. My Christmas ones, which are a mixture of traditional with a bit of humour, are currently being produced for release in the August TV shows on the Craft Store.

Hope you all have a good weekend and as always many thanks for your visits and words of encouragement.

Masculine at Allsorts

Morning Peeps, another new challenge at Allsorts and Lorraine aka Lolo is hosting her first challenge and her theme is 'Masculine'. This weeks sponsor is Helping Hands Craft offering a £15 store voucher. I also have my shares from my post this week on the Chocolate Baroque blog here.

I always struggle with masculine cards, they seem to be something you either love or otherwise always find a challenge. My top card was a recent Craft Store make for Stamp Addicts using their Scenic Sailing set which includes several stamps to build up scene which I stamped into the aperture created with a stencil and DI's, then Pan Pastels for the background.

Another Craft Store make but this time for Chocolate Baroque, stamping Garden Lace Scene with Versafine Clair Medieval Blue into a background spritzed very lightly with Oxides and dabbed off before the colours ran too much. A simple make but there is so much interest in the image not much more is needed.

My two Chocolate Baroque creation which I guess could almost fit the masculine theme this week. All detail of stamps and products used are here.

Have a lovely weekend all and as always my appreciation for your visits and encouraging words.

Blooms, Butterflies and Oriental Fans

It's the first Sunday of the month so time for our new challenges at We Love Chocolate Baroque and Stamping Sensations and also River of Creativity. Our themes for this month are 'Beautiful Blooms', 'For a Lady' and 'No Mushy Stuff'.

Chocolate Baroque are back on The Craft Store this Friday at 9am and 1pm so I have been mega busy the last week or so creating samples, there are some old favourites in the show as well as three absolutely stunning new stamp sets. One in particular I could have continued creating with had there not been the need to get them off in the post, I'll say no more and leave it to your imagination what it might contain!

Above I have used the lovely Geranium form Flora and Fauna which will be included in the show, there are some beautiful images on the set and I have absolutely no idea why it wasn't in my stash long ago. I used Oxide Spray Rustic Wildreness to colour some CB Black and White Papers, the brown to the left was accidentally picked up from the dampness on bottom of my 'spray box'.....aka an old Amazon box, but I quite liked the contrast. After stamping the image with Versafine black I coloured with Distress Markers, stamped a Butterfly onto two circle offcuts coloured with Oxide and placed on the side to balance the colour.

A little note about River of Creativity, it's a new challenge aimed at all types of crafting, the creations from my teamies are diverse and display perfectly the aim of the challenge which is not just cardmaking. There is a focus on highlighting individual entries throughout the month, so if you've not heard of us yet, please do pop over to the challenge blog and check it out.

This months theme is 'No Hearts or Mushy Stuff' and this is my take using stamps from Stamp Addicts and a bit if paper folding to create the fans which I stamped with an Oriental stamp and Versafine Clair.

I used Crafty Individuals Fly and Be Free for my Stamping Sensations piece, stamped onto an Oxide background and placed into a frame,  I buy packs of five from Amazon, they are really sturdy and perfect for painting with acrylics and adding crackle glaze. I stamped the Butterfly twice more onto vellum, coloured the back and decoupaged.

My second CB piece uses the beautiful and always popular Crackling Rose and Artistic Affirmations. An Oxide background, Kitsch Flamingo and Twisted Citron, the Rose coloured in with Distress Markers and some which pen flicked about.

I really hope you will join us this month, myself and teamies always look forward to seeing everyones takes on the themes.
