Carnations to make you Smile

Morning Peeps another new challenge at Allsorts where Ellie would like us to 'Use Design Papers' for the chance of winning a super stamp from Chocolate Baroque and a second prize of two craft stencils. I also have my shares from my post over at the Chocolate Baroque blog here.

It's Birthday weekend here, hubby's, mine and eldest Grandson and one Granddaughter. Hubby and I are going to Daniel Cliffords Midsummer House today for his Tasting Menu which is always very special. It will be our first restaurant meal and trip to Cambridge since the initial lockdown last March. Then tomorrow a family day which has to be in the garden due to the size of our immediate family so hoping it's at least dry, we have not seen some of our children and grandchildren since before COVID so really looking forward to seeing those who are travelling long distances to be with us.

A really simple make, dies to create the frame and a sentiment cut from the same DP, the Carnations which are from Chocolate Baroque Fresh Florals which were inked direct to stamp with Distress Markers and some sequins to embellish.........which strangely I just noticed look turquoise in my photo but they are a lightish green.

All details for the following cards can be found on the blog here.

Happy weekend one and all.

Poppies and yet more Poppies

Morning Peeps another weeks rolled round and it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts where this week Kath has set the theme of Anything Goes with the option to add Buttons and/or Bows.

Stamp Addicts are our sponsor and Sarah will be on TV again during The Craft Store's Family Favourites event on Thursday 24th June at 7pm.

Some beautiful Poppy stamps will feature in the show so I was in my element creating samples, above following the Anything Goes option at Allsorts is one using Emily's Poppies, small and medium along with the pretty Poppy border stamp. Below is another of my samples, two MDF hearts, acrylic paints and crackle glaze, Glossy Accents added to the Poppies and a SA sentiment.

An MDF tag following the Buttons and Bows option which was also for a Stamp Addicts show at The Craft Store a while back, acrylic ink and crackle glaze, more texture added with a script stencil and texture paste and the SA Kingfishers, stamped cut out and placed onto the tag. A ladder ribbon bow and some sequins.

Lastly I have to share another photo of my lovely Poppies, they have produced flowers every day but on Tuesday there were ten in bloom (one rather hidden) so had to take another photo.

Hope you all have a good weekend and my thanks as always for your kind comments and words of encouragement.

A right mixture

Morning Peeps, it's a quick post as I have a host of work to share, mid month creations for We Love Chocolate Baroque, Stamping Sensations and River of Creativity and my post yesterday for Chocolate Baroque here. Our internet has been out more than on last two days so writing this quickly before it go again.

At the top Poppies from Fresh Florals stamped, coloured and cut out with a die cut frame and Italian House in the aperture.

My Stamping Sensations share embraces my 'I love.....' of inks, flowers and a touch of grunge. Linen card brayerd with Oxides, random stamping with worker stamps and the focal image is a the lovely Rose from my friend Ruth, some may remember I used to design for her a few years back and we were fortunate to meet up a couple of times when she was over from Northern Ireland.

Her new website Ruth Hamilton Design is in it's infancy but new designs are being added regularly. The sentiment is one of my own from Life is so much Better, link below. I stamped the Rose onto inked cardstock and cut out to decoupage, washi tape, mesh from the greenhouse and a couple of index clips.

Now for some TV samples from my post yesterday on the Chocolate Baroque blog House using Urban Chic  and Life is so much Better stamped onto CB black and white papers coloured with Oxide sprays. The house is paper pieced with card coloured with the same.

My River of Creativity mid month share uses the fun Feline Family from Stamp Addicts, stamped in blue and yellow glitter added to their eyes. The wordage was made up with letters from Distressed Alphabet.

This one is Bridge House  and Orchard Design a Tree stamped onto the inside section and the whole panel and sentiment stamped and then covered with Distress Glaze.

Finally a door hanger covered in CB Design Papers and the seedpods from Sow the Seeds.

Butterflies and Bugs and Poppies in bloom

Morning Peeps so time for a new challenge at Allsorts and this week Wendy would like to see lots of 'Butterflies and Bugs' and a prize from Craft Stash for our lucky winner. I also have some shares from my post a few days ago over at the Chocolate Baroque blog here and the large Poppies I mentioned the other day are now in bloom.

A pretty simply created card above, an oxide background, masked the edges and added the colour, stamped Chocolate Baroque Butterfly Daisy Collage one and a half times with Versfaine black with the mask still in place and finito.

This was a The Craft Store TV make for Stamp Addicts, a masked circle softly inked around the edges, Music Sheet stamped in Versafine grey and the Butterfly, SA kiss stamped onto Circles in Circles and cut out. The sentiment is also SA.

Aren't they just glorious?

My Chocolate Baroque shares,

Have a sunny weekend.

Vibrant Poppies

It's the first Sunday of the month so time for our new challenges at We Love Chocolate Baroque and Stamping Sensations. Our themes for this month are 'Hand coloured or paper pieced image' and 'I love.....' We have a new sponsor at Stamping Sensations, Helping Hands Crafts and of course Chocolate Baroque at the other.

The tri folded arch was created using my much used TH cabinet card die and the mats for the stamping an arch shapes die which works well with it. Lots of Oxides and stencilling and the Poppies from CB Fresh Florals stamped an coloured........yes I did say coloured in, all seven panels, using Distress Markers and Sparkle Pens. The words are from a number of different CB stamp sets.

My Spring and Summer creation was another TV Craft Store make, the little booklet made with dies, Oxide sprays and a whole host of CB stamps that I won't even attempt to list but incorporates my 'I loves........ of colour, inks, Flowers and Nature.

And a few photos from around the garden this week......

Zoe fund this on one of the Ash Trees in the top paddock, I wouldn't like to guess how may Bees there actually were in this swarm, but it was quite a spectacular sight. We are not certain where they come from, although we have a suspicion they may live in the trunk of a broken branch of the same tree. We kept well away and within half an hour they dispersed except a few left buzzing around the branch.
A fledgling Sparrow under the dining room window, he looks pretty fed up with the afternoons session of flying lessons with his siblings.
A lovely display of self set poppies, hubby scattered some wild flower seeds last Summer in the nearby paddock and they seem to have migrated to one of the veg patches so of course he had to leave them to flower nettles and all. I can't wait for the one at the front to flower, will share some phots when it does.
And the first of the Digitalis, as usual they have self set all around and some in the most inconvenient places, but we tend to leave as many as possible as their blooms are a delight. This one is approaching 6 foot high and located itself in the gravel between the old and new conservatories.

I look forward to seeing you all when I pop round to visit your entries.

Foxes, Fairies and Fantasy

Morning Peeps so time for a new challenge at Allsorts, this week our host is Tracy Mouse with the theme of Magical Worlds and we have some lovely Lavinia products for this weeks winner.

Today also sees the start of our second challenge at River of Creativity, we had an encouraging start to our challenge and if you didn't get chance to join in then perhaps this months theme of 'Parent and Child' will inspire you.

For those who follow me by e.mail I have added a new option to my sidebar as Feedburner is ceasing in a few weeks, so please add you mail addy to the new Follow It and fingers crossed things 'should' continue as before.

Obviously it was going to be Lavinia stamps for this one. An Oxide background, masked sun and for a change I used a glue pen through the stencil to add the rays and then sprinkled with glitter. I wasn't sure how it would turn out or photograph but reasonable happy with the result.

This is my DT creation for River of Creativity, it uses Stamp Addicts Foxy Mama simply stamped with Versafine and a little colouring with Distress Markers and framed in coordinating colours. We encourage all styles and types of crafting from cards to cakes so why not come and join in this month.

Some Fairy tags, I make these up in batches to send with winners prizes, I think it adds a little personal touch when received and people always seem appreciative.

And last but by no means least, one of my Chocolate Baroque samples from Lesley's Craft Store shows yesterday, there were two shows, one all about sea life and the other steampunk. This one uses the Seahorse from the Mermaid Queen set.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and thanks as always for your visits.
