Dream and wish and NEC tickets ready for the post

Hello Peeps, hope all is well in your parts.

I have done just done the draw for the NEC tickets and you will find the lucky winners a bit further down this post, but first I have a card to share using some Chocolate Baroque stamps. It's one of my first pieces for them as a team member and more of my work will be on the CB blog in a week or so.

So many of the CB stamps lend themselves to the vibrant backgrounds you can achieve with Dylusions and the Indian Elephant and Indian Textiles sets which I have used for this card are no exception. I started by spraying the reverse side of a sheet of centura pearl with Dylusions Pure Sunshine, Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange and Postbox Red plus the mandatory spritz of peal mica spray.

I then stamped the images with black archival ink plus a bit of background stamping using CB Decorative Edges using the second and third generation stamping to get a more faded look. Next I bleached out the colours from the flowers and painted with the same colour Dylusions and used a versamark pen to add detail gold embossing powder to some of the droplet patterns across the top. The words are stamped onto an offcut of the base piece and a nice flourishy organza bow.

I know I am half a day early with this but my day is all planned out for me tomorrow, so here are the names of the people out of the draw who will each receive tickets for two to the NEC Hobbycraft show in November...........

And the surprise gift will go to........................

Fit Kitty who I think is is Canada

Well done to you all, please mail me so I can get your tickets (and surprise in the case of Kitty) in the post to you.

It's a numbers game

Morning all, time for our new challenge at Allsorts where Wendy would like us to add numbers to our work. Our sponsor is Marianne Designs.

My apologies I've been a bit lacking on the blogging front, but I am knee deep in Tattered Lace work for several shows coming up the first couple of weeks of October. I am easily distracted into blogland so have to be firm with myself and stick with it otherwise I know I won't get my samples made in time. But promise I will be round as soon as I get caught up with everything.

It's a pretty simple card from me, bright design papers, a computer generated sentiment and some balloons cut on the Cricut and tied with twine. Not much more to say about it really.

Have a good weekend.

Rather a lot of Ivy going on

Well it was going to be good morning when I started this post but seems it's turned into good afternoon, but better late than never as they say. And just reading down my post it appears apparent that I have a bit of a thing for Ivy and I won't deny the fact, I always love the way it grows and trails so naturally, not to mention the beautiful variants in colours.

My latest box of goodies arrived from Baker Ross earlier this week and I have had a couple of fun session using some of the new things. The products are from their new Natural rage which has a lovely organic feel to it so very much appeals to me and I have two makes to share in this post, well three if you count my Snippets Playground creation.

For the wreath at the top of my post I used one of the craft wreathes as my base, painted it with acrylic paint (also available from Baker Ross) and added glitter so the little bits showing through give a nice glimmer.

I then arranged fresh Ivy from the garden interspersed with little stones from their river pebbles collection. To carry the natural feel I used some raffia to make a bow and layered it onto an organza bow, all made on the Tattered Lace bow maker.

I also have a canvas I made for this week Snippet Playground, I played truant last week so I hope I'm allowed in again ? I started by covering the canvas with gesso and dried with a heat gun............yes I'm impatient..........then covered with 'slap it on' and made a sort of patchwork with offcuts of a pretty botanical paper pack a craft friend sent me for my birthday. I covered each piece with slap it on before sticking to the canvas and also gave a good coating to the top as I fixed each piece.

Next I made a watery mix of acrylic paint using a very pale pink and painted the whole piece, dabbing with a baby wipe where I wanted the images a little clearer. When dry.......yep you got it the heat gun again.......I stamped a flourish around the edge using versafine and embossed with detail gold and then rubbed gold gilding wax. Next I added a bit more interest and texture with a honeycomb stencil and gold paste and finally some tattered Lace Charism Ivy and Delicate Peony Corner. It was fun !!

My second Baker Ross share today uses three of their Wicker Balls which I tied together with some string and then decorated with some Tattered Lace Charisma Ivy, paper flowers and pearls. It was really simple to make and I intend making a Christmas one which I will share in a week or two along with some pine cone and twig makes.............still thinking on that one !

Many thanks for popping in, it's always much appreciated as are your comment.

Sparkle at Allsorts

Good morning to you all, it's time for our new challenge at Allsorts where Tracy Mouse would like to see 'Sparkle'. This weeks prize is a pair of tickets to the NEC Hobbycraft show in November.

I have two glittery makes this week and as I have also written up a post over at Tattered Lace Blog for the above card won't bore you with all the details again.

My second make is an inky creation using Brusho's for the background, Lavinia stamps and liberal helpings of purple glitter on the Fairie's wings and fantasy tree.

I wanted a fairly wide spread of colour so spritzed a piece of 600 gsm Fabrinano liberally with water then sprinkled on the Brushos, lilac, yellow and lemon and a bit more water to disperse the colour in some areas. Next I did the stamping using black archival ink, inked all round the edges with DI dusky concord, added the glitter and a bow across one corner with a rhinestone ribbon slide to add to the sparkle.

And a day late my mid month piece at Penny Black and More challenge where our theme of Anything Goes runs until the last day of the month so there is still plenty of time to join in.

And also a day late.................knuckles suitable rapped...........my share from yesterday's mid month post over at Stamping Sensations, this months theme is Sew Special, sewing real or faux or a So Special sentiment, it's been a tad quite at that one so please do pop over and join in.

Happy weekend all.

New Tattered Lace flowers

This is the lovely new Delicate Peony, it's another in the Charisma range with a CD Rom full of artwork in different colourways, backing papers and matching die for easy decoupaging.

Afternoon Peeps, hope you all had a good weekend.

Mine was a tad busy preparing artwork for tomorrows Tattered Lace Pick of the Day on Create and Craft, well technically it launches first on Ideal World at 9pm and programmes follow the next day on C&C.

The dies only arrived in the UK Friday so it was all a bit of a mad rush over the weekend, then sampled needed packaged for dispatch this morning ready for the shows. But there are lovely new flowers so I was a really happy camper and had a real fun time creating, funny that when flowers are involved it just seems to flow. These are just a taster of some of those I made.

When I created the top card I also had an eye on the current Butterfly Challenge where the theme is A Butterfly and Yarn or Thread using a Butterfly is from TL Butterfly Trio set. I also used a good quantity of purple silk that was in a large box of silk embroidery threads bequeathed to me by a lovely lady a few years ago when her arthritis stopped her from doing the needlework she so loved.

This is the Charisma Peony, not to be confused with the Delicate Peony or Peony Corner, because believe me I certainly do get confused with all the variants at times. I also added some Ivy from the Charisma Ivy CR and die set. The little pink pears are new TL products.

Another centre stepper card, I so love this die set as the matting and layering is so quick and easy. The Ballerina is called simply The Dancer and is another new die in tomorrow's shows. I also cut four times the the word dance from the Dance Like Nobody is Watching die to create the banner. The little flowers are also from TL.

Here's the Ballerina again and this time I placed her in an oval aperture backed with a piece of acetate embossed with a TL folder.

This is the new shape card which Desire gave instructions for on her blog recently, it's very quick and easy to create following her instructions. I printed and cut the Delicate Peony in the cream colourway and coordinated with some new Trimcraft DP's and a TL sentiment.

Moonlight Dance is the name of this lovely couple, it's one I made for last weeks shows, I wasn't that keen on it but it go lots of praise from the presenters, so thanks to all of them for their kind words.

Many thanks for popping in and hope you have a good week.

Buttons, bows and Poppies

Good morning to you all, it's time for our new challenge at Allsorts where Susan would like to see some buttons on our work. Our sponsors are Hobby House and Deedee's Digi's.

My DT creation is a Tattered Lace sample for a recent Create and Craft's programme highlighting the lovely Charisma summer collection of Click and Print images and matching dies and no surprise that the Poppy was my favourite from the collection.

I embossed the base layer and lightly inked with DI Tea Dye, added a border of hessian and lace and mounted the Poppies onto two die cut hearts cut from some glitter card. Three buttons, cord and a seam binding and cord bow to finish.

Happy weekend all.

From grunge to new Tattered Lace

We have a new challenge starting over at FlonzCraft Vintage Stamping Challenges, the them is Tic Tac Toe and I will admit I had to check what exactly that was, seems it's just another name for bingo, so I went with the Blue/Brown, Cord and Flowers line. As always there is a very generous $20 voucher to be won from FlonzCraft.

My starting pint was to spray Dylusions and pearl Glimmer Mist onto the reverse of a piece of Centura Pearl and then add some diamonds with a mask and DI. Next I used several Flonz stamps around the top and at the bottom Flonz Thistles which I coloured in with the same Dyslusions. I added some Frantage around the edges, tied some cord, added a blue and cream rose and mounted onto a piece of corrugated card from my ever growing stash of it.

Using Moonlight Dance and  Dance like Nobody is Watching

As I indicated the other day, there is a new Tattered Lace Pick of the Day starting at 9pm tonight on Ideal World TV and Create and Craft tomorrow. These new dies were waiting for me when we arrived home from holiday so I was thrust straight back into creativity.

Using Horse and Rider - one of the granddaughters loves this one so think it will get well used

Using over the edge Treeline and Houses

Many thanks for popping in today and hope you all have a good week.

Venetian Summer

Time for our monthly challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are Sew Special and Anything Goes.

For my Penny Black creation I have used one of my favourite stamps Venetian Summer, it's a place I adore and having spent a couple of days there on our recent holiday was inspired to use this stamp again.........mind you I didn't look anything like as elegant as this lady when I was there.

I have coloured her with my Chameleon pens using just one colour and added the sky with Pan Pastels. I am not sure of the make of DP, it's scraps I found in my 'brown drawer' but have a feeling it may be G45. Some lace and sentiment which is part of the same set as the main image.

I have used my current favourite fancy machine stitch on the base layer and another Penny Black stamp for the main image....a nice wood mounted one called Rosa which I coloured in with Spectrum pencils.some basic mat and layering, organza ribbon and bow and another of the pretty ribbon slides I found on web site selling wedding products.

And a second card for Stamping Sensations using stamps from this months sponsor Stamp Addicts. Yes, it's the same stitch again, did say I was a bit addicted to it, along with a Stamp Addicts sentiment and Poinsettias from the new Star of Wonder stamp set. I stamped and cut the Poinsettias from a piece of card coloured with Dylusions and pearl mica spray, layered them up and added some pearl stamens and added some die cut Ivy...........absolutely no idea who the die is made by as I've had it ages and no longer have the packing.

And I am having a spell in the playground again this week......not fell of the swing yet but it can;t last......and am entering this card into Di's Snippet Playground. It's a recent sample I made for Tattered Lace using some of the new the Nursery Rhyme dies, this one is called 'I'm a little teapot'..............the times we sang this one at playschool when I used to help out, the little ones always seemed to love doing all the movements.

The background has been embossed with a TL embossing folder and lightly inked with distress inks, some scraps of paper which I think are Trimcraft, lace, seam binding and a button.

Have a good Sunday all, I am off to Thetford Sincerely Yours craft show to do some inky demoing but hoping to get a bit of shopping in as well.

Gilded flowers and Poppies

There is a new challenge over at Allsorts today and this week Mervi would like to see Lots of Layers, our sponsor is Jiggery Makery and Sizzix.

I have used lots of gilding wax on my the flowers, both gold and copper rubbed onto the Tattered Lace Emma flowers and Sophie leaves, all were cut with the dies, embossed with the matching folders and also stamped with the coordinating stamps although that seems to have got lost in the gilding. The pretty DP is Trimcraft and I did a bit of fancy machine stitching around the panel. The sentiment is Penny Black.

I also have a share for the current Butterfly Challenge where the theme is a Butterfly and an Archway and I just love this arch window stencil which I think is from Clarity...........as is par for the course with me I don't have the packaging any longer so can't be certain.

After inking through the stencil onto linen cardstock I stamped this gorgeous Poppy image which is part of one of the sets I recently received from Chocolate Baroque. I stamped a second image and heat embossed both with detail clear powder and cut out the butterflies and Poppy heads to decoupage although that's not very apparent from my photo. The colouring is all done with Specrtum pencils and I simply matted and layered in coordinating colours and stamped a sentiment...........you got it, no idea of the make as it's an unmounted one.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I'm off to the Sincerely Yours Paperctrafts show at Thetford tomorrow. It's a really nice friendly show and less than an hours drive so very convenient and as well as stocking up on things like cardstock, also gives me the opportunity to catch up with some of our challenge sponsors.
