The Kiss of the Sun

Morning Peeps, hope you all had a good weekend, as explained in my post Saturday it's scheduled posts for the next three weeks.

It's time for this weeks Prickly Pear and Nicecrane Desings DT shares and it will be a quick post as I am back at hospital this week and then.............fingers very firmly crossed.............our holiday right afterwards.

For my PPRS card above I masked a piece of Fabriano watercolour card and created a background with Pan Pastels and then stamped this lovely silhouette floral image and added a sentiment form one of the clear sets, as always details and links below the photo.

It's more flowers for my Nicecrane piece along with Graphic 45 DP's, I printed the image out twice and decoupaged the birdie, added some lace, twine and a cameo.

Thanks so much for popping in.

Time for Tea

Good Morning Peeps, hope you are all enjoying this Summer weather. This will be my last 'live' post for three weeks, today we are hosting our 'little girls' (granddaughter) 18th Birthday party, then I have hospital to deal with again when I am very much hoping to get the all clear, followed immediately afterwards by our holiday so lots of scheduled posts lined up but will try and add a little update on the health front if I can as so many continue to so kindly enquire how I am doing.

Sara is inviting us to afternoon tea at Allsorts this week with the lovely theme of 'Time for Tea'. Our sponsors are FlonzCraft and Eureka Stamps.

As a non tea drinker I don't tend to buy crafting goodies associated with tea although I know there are lots to choose from so after giving it some thought remembered the Alice in Wonderland designs from Nicecrane and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party seemed an obvious choice. It's teamed up with Graphic 45 DP's, ivy and flowers. The script is computer generated and taken from the Alice book.

Happy weekend all.

An evening stroll

As it's Monday it's time for my Prickly Pear DT share. I am not sharing a Nicecrane piece this week as the web site is down for maintenance but you will be able to check it out and see more new designs very shortly.

It's a first inking for Stella the rather elegant looking lady who has been paper pieced. The frame is the aperture left after cutting the Timmy wardrobe frame, I always keep the waste as it works perfectly for creating a little scene in this case using Pan Pastels, ripped paper to make the hills and clouds and some Prickly Pear flower and leaf stamps, all listed above with direct links.

Hope you all have a lovely week.

White on White

Good Morning Peeps, it's a rainy one here in the Fens but hopeful it may brighten up later.

Time for another challenge at Allsorts where Wendy has chosen the theme of White on White, our sponsors are  Marianne Designs and Scrappers Delight.

It was a bit of a scary theme for me, not sure what it is about all white cards that scares me but I decided I would really challenge myself and make two. For the top one I stamped a Penny Black Poinsettia several times onto vellum and heat embossed with detail white powder before cutting out and decoupaging. Some die cute holly, cord layered across the inside of the aperture and some ribbon.

This is a little overdue, a card which I should have blogged yesterday for my mid month Penny Black and More piece and more inky fun. A background created by 'stamping' with an acrylic block.........this one has guidelines in it and gives a nice almost linen effect.............inked with distress inks and a spritz of water and then over stamped with the lovely First Dance lily which was also inked with distress markers and a liberal spritz of water before stamping. Then simply matted and layered, a punched border and ribbon.

On this card the Penny Black butterflies were also stamped onto acetate and heat embossed with detail white and arranged onto an embossed panel and lots of swirly pearls added.

Hope your weekend is a good one whatever you have planned.

A day at the beach

Happy Monday morning to you all, time to share my Prickly Pear and Nicecrane DT creations.

As most know I am not one for cute images and cards, comes of not being a natural when it comes to colouring in I think, but this sweet little girl does rather appeal and teamed up nicely with some shells I bought back from Majorca, Graphic 45 DP, sky and sun using Pan Pastels and bunting cut on the Cricut.

Another criss cross card........I feel there is probably a proper name for this style but not sure what it actually is, so criss cross for now.

The image is from the Brisley Playing Children design sheet, this little girls reminds me of a photo of me as a child complete with plaited hair.

As with so many Nicecrane designs this one matches perfectly with Graphic 45 DP, this one is from the Botanical Tea collection.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Splish, Splash Splosh and a butterfly

My friend Tracy has chosen the them of Splish, Splash Splosh at Allsorts this week and our sponsors are Crafty Ribbons.

I made this one a few weeks ago using the Sizzix Accordian die and these fun bathing images from Nicecrane Greetings from the Seaside design sheet.. I stamped the base bard elements with an Inkilicious backround stamp and inked to give an effect of water and added some nautical elements with pieces cut on the Cricut.

My second card is one I made for the current Butterfly Challenge whose theme is One Layer cards, I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the Top 3 with my pink card last month.....thank you so much Mrs A. That card had a rather large butterfly so I am hoping the one on this card is not too insignificant. The image is Indigo Blue, Fabriano watercolour cardstock and a backgrond created by inking a small acrylic block with distress inks, spritzing and using that as the 'stamp' to create a random pattern. I bleached out the lady's face, some of the flowers and the butterfly, coloured with Wink of Stella pens and added some glossy accent to the butterfly and little birdie.

Whatever you are up to I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Dogs and dances

Golden Retriever GG0059 and Flourish die PPRS D045

It's time for a new challenge at FlonzCraft Vintage Stamping Challenges where Viv has chosen the them eof Face the Music and Dance and as always there is a chance to win $20 stamps of your choice from FlonzCraft. And as it's Monday I also have my Prickly Pear and Nicecrane DT shares.

The top one for Prickly Pear uses the lovely Golden Retriever which I have lightly coloured with watercolour pencils........as we all know I don't do colouring in too well so kept it simple........some DP from stash and a flourish using a new die from PPRS.

For my first FlonzCraft card I used some of the brand new Design Papers together with the Tango Dance couple paper piecing the ladies dress with the reverse of the floral DP, some punched flowers and Prickly Pear flourish, the same one as in the above card.

And this is my take on a Victorian Dance Card, I am not totally convinced the couple above fit into the same era but there is a waltz in there so with a bit of artistic licence I am linking the two.

I created an aperture in a panel which I also embossed and then rubbed with gilding wax and placed a FlonzCraft image into the aperture. I printed the dance list on the computer and stamped around the edges with a FlonzCraft Baroque corner and finished with some liquid pearls, tassel and beads.

I hope you all have a good week.

Flowers all the way

Time for our monthly challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are and Summer Blooms and Dies and Punches. We are still away so another scheduled post which I hope pops up on time, one can never be sure with blogger.

There is quite a lot of Penny Black going on this month with both my DT cards, the one at the top is my Stamping Sensations make using the gorgeous Hollyhock stamp from PB stamped onto a background of Dylusions and stamped a second time to decoupage. I did a bit of random stamping around the edges and added some grunge paste through a distressed lattice stencil.

My Penny Black piece is again rather inky, a background created with Dylusions onto the reverse of Centura Pearl and the obligatory spritz of Glimmer Mist pearl to bend the colours and add a bit of shine. Next I added some grunge paste using honeycomb stencil and ink to add some sunrays and some randon stamping around the edges, music here and there and a Penny Black quote. Finally some daises using a Penny Black die cut from another piece of card sprayed with Dylusions.  I wasn't at all sure what I was going to do to for this months theme but am actually quite happy with what I ended us with.

I do hope you will join in this months challenges, we have some awesome prizes to be won.

Fairy time

Morning Peeps, a scheduled post as I am not about for a few days, we are away visiting one of our boys and his wife who have just moved the the 'seaside' so am hoping the weather is nice, although at the time of writing this post it doesn't look too promising.

Our Susan has chosen the them of Fairies at Allsorts this week which was the perfect opportunity to showcase some fairies form this weeks sponsor Nicecrane Designs. Our second sponsor is Digistamp Boutique. I have made another accordian card using the Sizzix die and three different Nicecrane Flower Children Fairies plus a Penny Black sentiment and Graphic 45 Botanical Tea DP's.

And I thought I would share a photo from the garden, one of the Clematis which I think is Jackmanii........we have quite a few and I really don't remember the names of all so someone might have to put me right..............has really got a mind of it's own this year and wound itself right along one of the pergolas and intertwined itself into a white Iveyi Escallonia and it lookes so pretty I just had to take a photo. This particular Escallonia is only just starting to flower and as there are so many buds on the Clematis I think the best is yet to come.

And a late entry as Ignacio has just released some new designs, I shared the Jeremy Fisher ones earlier in the week and this one is from the Adorable Fairies designs. By sheer coincidence the colours in the designs match really well with the LOTV Timeless Victorian 8x8 pad Tracy sent me for my Birthday so they got some early use before the stroking kicked in.

Have a lovely weekend.
