Majestic mountains

Good afternoon all you crafty peeps, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

It's my turn to share a second piece for this month's theme of Majestic Mountains at Craft a Scene challenge. We've seen some lovely pieces of artwork this month and for those of you for haven't had time to join in yet there are still a few days left, so I really do hope to see you over at the challenge blog.

All my stamps on this one are from Stampscapes, stamped with black archive ink and then coloured with Pan Pastels and as I hadn't done a 'sunray sky' for a while I thought I would throw one of them in for good measure, this was done by sponging Adirondakc dye ink. Which reminds me quite a few people have asked for a tutorial on the sky so I'll do my best to get something sorted as soon as possible.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and thanks for popping in, your comments are always so appreciated.

In Stitches

Good morning Peeps, Saturday again and it's yours truly's turn to host this weeks theme at Allsorts which is 'In Stitches', so that means I would like to see some sort of stitching either real or faux on your work.

And before I go any further I have to say please don't look too closely at my stitching, a certain puppy called Poppy decided the wiring to my machine looked like a good past time and although hubby managed to mend it for me, if not working quite as it should and missing stitches here and there.

As Flonz Craft are a sponsor this week I have of course use one of their lovely images and again paper pieced at the stamps lend themselves so well to this technique, plus of course I can't colouring in for toffee. The  DP's are again Teresa Collins, I really love these papers they have a lovely texture to them, are double sided and so many have beautiful vivid colours totally appeal to me. I added a Marianne flower and swirl.

I'm looking forward to coming to visit all your entries, I really hope you can find time to join in.

Butterfly Flowers

Good morning Peeps, just a mega quick post to remind you that Sarah and Vicky from Stamp Addicts will be on Create and Craft TV this afternoon at 2pm.

They will be demonstrating with both old favourites as well as some brand new stamps..................I made these two cards with one of the new stamps called Butterfly Flowers, needless to say I loved working with this one and will share a few more samples with you shortly.

I kept both cards fairly simple as it's such a beautiful image, stamping with black archival ink and colouring with Derwent water colours. On both cards the butterfly and larger flowers are decoupaged to give extra dimension. You will find this stamp and all the others that will be featured on the show here.

Many thanks for dropping in and whatever you have planned I hope you all have a good Tuesday.

Colours of Autumn

Saturday morning can mean only one thing, a new challenge at Allsorts and this week the lovely Helene would like to see 'Autumn Colours', a theme I absolutely love as I could work with the gorgeous rich colours of autumn all year round.

It gave me the perfect opportunity for some inky indulgence, first of all I stamped and embossed with detail clear a selection of Hero Arts leaves, this set is two or three years old but timeless. Next I went over the whole piece with distress inks and embossed round the edges with Frantage aged spice and aged gold. The acorns are Tim Holts alterations and the leaves come on the same die.

I hope you can all join in this week and look forward to seeing your entries, have a good weekend everyone and thanks for popping in.

Diary dates for C&C and Big demo Day

Good morning to you all, hope everyone's week is going well and welcome to my new followers.

I've been an extremely bad blogger this week and realised this morning it's several days since I posted anything. The last couple of weeks has been one of those periods when life gets in the way and on the crafty front I've had my head down preparing samples for several upcoming Create and Craft Stamp Addicts programs which I can't share just yet, although I can tell you the first of the new programs will be at 2pm on 23rd October, followed by Paper Clinic on 12th November and 29th November.

And on top of that I'm trying to prepare myself for the 5th Ultimate Rubber Stamping Demo Day at Sir Stampalot on 27th of October, if you've never been to this event before you really should try to come along. This year we have no less than eight different demonstrators all under one roof offering a huge variety of different crafting techniques. I will be doing what I enjoy most, creating scenes using Penny Black and Art Impression stamps and my latest favourite colouring medium Pan Pastels.

As always there will be refreshments available throughout the day and special offers in store, so I really hope to see some of you, it's always nice to catch up with old friends and meet new new ones as well.

I had better give a quick explanation of my card which is one I made the other day for a friends birthday. I masked the edges of a piece of coated card stock, masked a moon and brayered black Adirondack ink, then stamped Penny Black 3381K Aspire. The crane is from Animal Spirit stamps which I stamped in black and embossed with detailed clear, Sue's wonderful art work is so detailed in needs nothing more.

As always many thanks for popping in, have a good Wednesday.

Too cute to spook

Good morning Peeps, time for another challenge at Allsorts where Debs has chosen the theme 'Too Cute to Spook'.

I realised after I finish my card above that it's pretty similar to one I did last week although this one doesn't have mountains but does have an extra tree and little owl so I figure a little bit different. I guess it's not really cutie spooky and I was a bit stuck what to do so went with the Chocolate Baroque stamp sheet again and Pan Pastels.

Then I remembered I had a Penny Black stamp stashed away somewhere so fished it out and came up with a second card, watercoloured the image and added a few spiders. I do like the traditional Halloween colour palette of orange and purple and always think it's a bit of a shame that we don't indulge in the Halloween spirit in the same way as our American friends.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Timmy candy

TH Christmas embossing folders, Summer distress ink set, distress stickles,
bird and cage die, cut and dry, TH tape, a Hero Arts stamp and some TH die cuts

I thought it was time for some candy again for my blog friends and followers who kindly come visiting even when I'm not able to get out and about as much as I would like.

You seemed to like the idea of Timmy goodies last time so I've put a few more together and managed to get hold of another set of the Summer distress inks which was a real bonus.

Same rules as usual:

1) I'd love if you were a follower, but not one here just for the candy,
(I will discount any candy followers/candy blogs)

2) Post the main candy picture on your sidebar with a link back here.

3) Leave you name with Inlinkz below.

I will do four weeks Friday on 16th November 2012

Misty Morning

Morning Peeps, first of all thanks for all your lovely comments yesterday about my re-vamped craft room. It looks as though I need to make up a rota for hubby and send him on his way to some of you, meanwhile sounds like I'll be pulling down the sofa bed and spending crafty time with some of you............just imagine what fun that would be. We could talk for England, craft till out hearts content and eat chocolate.

There's a real feel of Autumn here in the Fens this morning, we had a heavy dew and mist hanging across the fields, but the trees seems really slow changing colour and apart from a few hints here and there they remain pretty green so I figure it will be a late fall for us. Probably got a lot to do with all the rain we had this Summer.

My card has a sort of Autumnal fee to it, a background created with Glimmer Mists, Inkylicious and Stampscape trees, Art Impression fence and deer and some shading with distress ink.

Whatever you are doing today, hope your Tuesday is a good one.

Craft room piccies at last

There have been so many requests to take a peek at my re-vamped craft room which is now officially finished, that I thought it was time I got some photos taken.

So yesterday I set to it as it was a lovely sunny day and having eventually sussed out how to add page tabs along the top of my blog uploaded a few pictures. I've also added a little gallery of the family pets.

Hubby's done a great job and I realise what a lucky girl I am to have so much space to work in.

I will hopefully be back with something crafty later.

Owl OK

Hello Peeps, the first Sunday the month so it's time for new challenges and we have quite a selection for you this month. At Craft a Scene we have the lovely theme of ' Majestic Mountains', at Stampalot it's 'Punch Away' and that Penny Black and More it's all about 'Animal Magic'.

As you might guess the one at the top of my post is my Craft the Scene DT piece where I have combined stamps from Stampscapes, Chocolate Baroque and Art Impressions. I stamped all with black archival ink using the third generation ink for the mountains to achieve softer look and did all the colouring with Pan Pastels. I thought the castle felt a little bit Halloween/Frankenstein'ish, so I filled in the wings of the birds to look like bats.

My second card above is my Stampalot DT piece, I paper pieced the dress and water coloured the smaller elements. A punched border and some ribbons, die cut flowers and swirl and DP from stash and I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea of the make, then finally a few pearls to embellish.

My third and final piece is for Penny Black and More is very simple and straightforward, paper piecing again, a punched border, lace and ribbon. I fretted about this one a bit as I felt the theme title indicated cute but needless to say I have very little that fits that bill so the owl it was. And I did Google it and birds and feathered creatures are all considered animals apparently.

My craft room is just about finished now so I'm hoping the weather will be kind today and I can get some photos done to share, watch this space !

As always my thanks for popping by and I hope you will join in with our challenges this month.

The working horse

This week Jo chose our theme at Allsorts .......... 'Autumn Leaves and Trees', a perfect excuse to get out the inks and tree stamps of which I have rather more than I care to admit.

My scene transports us back to the days when horses were the agricultural manpower, before my time but I remember hearing many stories as a child about one of my grandfathers who was a horseman on a local farm. And by coincidence the original and oldest part of our house was a horse keepers cottage and I have often wondered if it is anything like the one my great grandparents lived in and raised the eldest of their 10 children, the farm I remember was one they moved to years later.

I stamped all the images with archival black ink and colour the whole picture with Pan Pastels and added a hand drawn fence. The poem Autumn by John Clare is the perfect accompaniment, but it's an awfully long poem so I just selected two verses and carried the Pan colours and stamping around the verse. The stamps are Inkylicious and the horse and plough Stamp Addicts.

Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed making this piece and hope you like it well.

My second card uses some images from this weeks sponsor DigiStamp Boutique, it's actually a new home set and I coloured and cut out the houses and trees, then added some scenery and additional stamping and think it looks quite autumnal.

As always I really appreciate all your kind comments and visits.

More Frantage and Pans

Morning Peeps, hope your all OK which is more than can be said for the weather the last couple of days, yep we've got rain yet again and it's decidedly cold as well.

I have a couple of shares for you using Ruth's Tonic Pick of the Bunch stamps. On the top one I just used the ivy from the Peony and Rose sets and stamped them over a background of Pan Pastels, the coloured the leave with the Pans as well.................have you all guessed that I am totally loving working with them ? As someone who just cant colour in I am finding their versatility and blendability............it that a word I wonder..........just amazing. A TH fence and some Frantage..........my other most fav product lately.

My second card is fairly simple and I let the gorgeous Marianne die and single peony flower do the talking. This image is also coloured with Pans and it really does take just minutes. I blame the 'need' to buy this die on one of my fellow bloggers Anne, I saw the gorgeous Christmas card she made with it a couple of days ago and just had to have it, so I'm blaming this all on you Anne.

You can find out where to buy Ruth's stamps by clicking on the thumbnails below.

I would like to enter the top card for:

Simon Says - Leaf Inspiration
Kaboodle Doodles - Colours of Autumn
Stamp with Fun - Autumn

And I would like to enter the second card into:

Marianne's Designs - Stamp Something

Have a good day and thank you for popping in.
