Morning Peeps, Wendy is back again this week and her theme is 'For a Child', this weeks lucky winners will receive a collection of stamps suitable for children's cards.
So sorry I have been very much missing from visiting you all this week but I have been rather busy, had an appointment with Mr Bow Tie (my Neurologist) which took up a day and have been hard atplay work preparing samples for Pete Simpson's new Artisan Designs show on Hochanda this coming Thursday. It's all been rather hectic as shows have been moved forward due to the recent changes at the channel but it's going to be a great show so I hope you will tune in as the new stamps are fabulous and as with the last show all about florals and wonderful inspirational sentiments which tick all the right boxes for me.
So first of all let me tell you a bit about my Allsorts share, it's a 10x10 canvas and had quite a bit of treatment firstly with acrylic paint and gesso, then tissue paper stamped with Lavinia stamps and painted over with watered down gesso to give an ethereal look, watered down acrylic paint, more stamping, toadstools cut out and fixed into place a larger fairy stamped between them, liquid pearls and die cut leaves.
And now some of my shares which I am about to pack and send off to Pete for Thursday's show. I will share some more in due course.
Happy weekend all.

Fabulous cards Brenda
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I just finished a canvas for a child too! I'll just say, although yours is very painterly and lovely, mine is bigger... Great samples for the show, I lost my heart to the monolith, that crackle, stencilled paste...gorgeous! Have a great weekend Brenda!
ReplyDeleteHospitals can take up half your life, can't they? All necessary evils, lol. Hope it was good news.
ReplyDeleteLove this selection of lovely mixed media and particularly love the rust and green one - very striking with lovely contrasts. Love the misty effect you achieved on your Allsorts canvas, too - very ethereal. That's a nice fairy...or elf? Lovely work, Brenda - and of course it's WORK and not play, he, he!!!

ReplyDeleteAnother array of gorgeousness B!
ReplyDeleteAnother zero tomorrow is not an option....! x
Wow a treat for the eyes again with so many projects you made! All inspiring, but my favo is the green/red and white one; to me it popped out of this post... Hope you have a good weekend! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous "work" Brenda, the canvas is so pretty and would grace any little girls bedroom perfectly. I am particularly drawn to your beautiful jade and rust card, the white looks sensational and the message is very fitting. Vet came to review surprise this week...another month of confinement then she can have restricted turnout. I feared the worse so am delighted with the outcome. I hope your consultant had some encouraging news for you xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely collection of cards, Brenda. I especially llllllllove the first one with the burlap. Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous canvas Brena.
ReplyDeleteLovely samples too. I watched his first shows and loved his marbled paper technique which I taught my Craft Club ladies. Xxxx

Such amazing creations Brenda, your Lavinia piece really inspired me to create something with my Lavinia stamps very soon! I think I might try working with a canvas as well. Stunning creation for Artisan Designs too, I might need to do some research so I can see where I can watch that channel here in the US.
ReplyDeleteWow, a stunning and so creative array of Art pieces, full of interesting details and techniques! Your makes are never obvious, Brenda! :D The canvas is a delight, so soft and dreaming!! Always love the magical scenes you create with fairies and here there is a lot of work!!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are a joy for the eyes and LOVE that blue one with the vellum and the "crafting/life" sentiment :D So true! And the last one with the crackle and the stencilled paste is just a delight, rustic but elegant at the some time!
Hope that Mr Bow Tie have had positive notice for you...
Take care and have a lovely weekend!
Here it isn't cold and Spring seems arrived, but the sun goes and comes with clouds and no one drop of rain... Nature needs rain in Spring, so hope that it arrives and plants can drink :)
Hugs!
