Fairies at the end of the garden

Good Morning to you all and I really must start by welcoming my new followers this week, it's lovely to see you and thank you all so much, I always love reading your comments and I do try to get round visiting when I can, even if sometimes my wonky body won't let me do that as often as I might like.

As some of you may have seen in my last post, yesterday I had a surprise trip to the NEC. We were there bright and early for when it opened but by linchtime I was shattered and ready for home, although not without a good haul of goodies. If you're reading this Sal, then I confess to a couple more tree stamps..........as we both agree, a Treeaholic girls can never have enough of them.........some Lavinia stamps along with a few more Panel Pastels, rather a lot of card stock, some more Imagination Crafts stencils and glitter as well as a few Christmas presents.

I have to say though that in some ways I found it a little disappointing, it's two years since I last went and I found this time there seemed to be an awful lot of paper products and the like and rather less stamps than I remember before. And as I said to hubby on the way home it must be a sign of age as I was utterly disappointed to find not a single wood mounted stamp.

So now for Allsorts this week where my lovely teamie Tracy is feeling 'Young at Heart', a theme that can be interpreted in so many ways.

I dibbled and dabbled what to do and in the end I decided on a LOV fairy one of my bloggy friends sent me for my birthday, thank you Tracy,  I figured anyone of my age who still believes in fairies has to be a little bit young at heart still............well doesn't everyone have them at the end of the garden ?

I coloured the image with watercolours, the DP is from stash which I think might be Bo Bunny, a Nestie frame and die cart flowers and leaves, liquid pearl fairy dust and in one of my favourite colour combos.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

  5. No wood mounted stamps... yikes!! They are becoming a rarity. I love them, even though they take up so much more space.... Love your fairy card - though I confess when I scrolled it down, I thought her boots were (whispers) her drawers falling down... oops, perhaps I should put my reading glasses on...!! Hope you have recovered from the exertions of the NEC, take care and good luck to the boys for tomorrow!!

  6. A lovely dreamy card! Allthough I don'f show them often, this is a sort of stamp I also like. The flowers and leaves are beautiful! The last show I went was fun because of the people, but also more paper as I remembered... Have a nice weekend! Hugs, Gerrina

  7. I'm glad you came home with a decent haul Brenda.I think you'd like the Port Sunlight show (pity it's so far for you). It's not called the Happy Stampers show for nothing. It's a smaller venue than the others but stamps are the main thing there.
A gorgeous card this one, delightful image and a gorgeous colour scheme.

  11. Morning my lovely B, slack blogging buddy here, just getting round to visiting. I've never been to the NEC but the last crafting event I went to was nothing compared to the one before,a sign of the times maybe. I'm glad I popped by to see your gorgeous card, these are colours I struggle with but you've inspired me to give them another try. Have a lovely weekend,Julie x

  12. How lovely to see you using a LOTV stamp Brenda...as you know they are my faves :-) Your flowers are scrummy, gorgeous colours. I know what you mean about wooden backed stamps....I think they will disappear sadly. They are so expensive to post...flat ones can just go letter post but they count as a parcel. Such a shame as they are just so instant to use. Happy weekend,
    Jane x

  13. Hello Brenda, lovely card and cute image.
I was at the NEC yesterday - not surprising I didn't bump into you with the hoards of people there!

  14. This is gorgeous Brenda, I love that little image and the colours are so pretty. I love woodmounted stamps too hehe, I thought I was the only one, I keep reading comments about how inconvenient they are, but I personally think having to keep dragging out the acrylic blocks is far more inconvenient! Glad you got a good haul though just the same :)

  18. Lovely card Brenda and glad to hear you had a surprise outing and managed to treat yourself to some new goodies. Looking forward to seeing what you create with them. I too like using the wood mounted stamps. I guess the increase in the availability of digital stamps will also take its toll on them. Hope you have a good weekend.

  25. Beautiful card Brenda, the fairy looks so pretty and the flowers you have made to match are gorgeous. How nice to have a surprise trip to the NEC and sounds like you bought a 'few' bits and bobs too. I like wood too maybe it is a cost or storage thing that they seem to be hard to find, l just saw a few at Harrogate - PB's of course on J&C Creations. There is just something satisfying about having that piece of rubber on wood lol x Enjoy the weekend x Susan x

  29. The colours are gorgeously soft & I love the combination of the pastels with the soft brown. Age is an odd thing isn't it - definitely feeling my years & amazed at the way technology & products move forwards. I think you're right though - there's a huge emphasis on paper products now & gadgets for embossing/cutting etc......... Hope you manage to recover well over the weekend.

  52. Hi Brenda, firstly what a gorgeous card, I love the image and the colours and the die cuts and flowers are beautiful. Secondly I believe in fairies! (unfortunately I also believe that I have time stealing pixies and naughty goblins that hide and break things in my house too lol). I am really glad that you had a nice day at the NEC, it's a shame that you were a little disappointed and now that you mention it you don't often see woodmounted stamps at craft shows now which is a shame. I hope you have had a rest and recovered from the hustle and bustle of it all now
