Blossoms and Butterflies

It's time for our challenges at Stamping Sensations and Penny Black and More where our themes are 'Feature a Creature' and 'Flower Power' and as usual wonderful prizes to be won at both.

My Butterfly which is from Penny Black is my Stamping Sensation creature, a rather bright and bold creation but it was fun to make. I took a piece of Fabriano 600gsm cardstock and working on a coloured section at a time and allowing to dry in-between, I spritzed liberally with water, shook on Brusho crystals and used a straw to blow the wet colours outwards.

Next I stamped the Butterfly onto a piece of card, coloured with the same Brosho's, cut out and mounted onto the inky background, also stamping the Visible Image sentiment. I added wire antenna to the Butterfly and a few silver sequins.

My Penny Black creation uses all time favourite Dance, Sing, Love along with a new stamp with the lovely name Branch of Grace. I gave the background a light colour wash with blue distress ink and the stamped the blossom inking the stamp with distress markers and spritzing with water before stamping the whole image once and then sections of it to extend the blossoms. The sentiment is stamped with archival coffee.

As always there are lots of super prizes to be won and some great inspiration from my team mates, so please do pop over the the challenge blogs.

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you are up to.

  8. Two gorgeous cards Brenda. I favour the first one only because I love bright colours. It reminds me of my childhood when we used to do the straw and paint blowing which created those bautiful patterns. Oh dear just as I was geting down my must have list Bresho crystals have been added. Lol.
