Passion for Promarkers & Spoonful of Sugar

I'm combining two challenges together on this one, Passion for Promarkers there the challenge is to use Cocoa and Cornflower Blue and A Spoonful of Sugar which ask that you use hearts on you projects.

I have used Art Impression T3094 (Sir Stampalot) as my main image stamped in versafine black and embossed with detail clear. To incorporate the hearts I used a Stamps by Judith (Stamp Addicts) stubby stamp to decorate her dress, colouring the hearts with the cocoa and the cornflower blue for the main part of her dress. As I have said before, I have problems with solitary figures, so my little girl is walking across cobbles stamped with Art Impression L3297, has some chalked clouds above her and some little birds using part of Art Impression G3234. My DP's are Daisy Bucket and Doodlebug, the top panel was run through the bug using the hearts folder to carry the theme and finished off with three flowers and some swarovski crystals.

Stamp Addicts Christmas

I've just heard from Sarah to say the brand new Stamp Addicts Christmas show is going out at 11am on Thursday 30th July on Ideal World, Create and Craft and I believe Freeview also became available to their screenings yesterday.

Myself and the other DT members have been busy making cards for the programme and will be sharing some of the samples over the next few weeks. Stamp Addicts are also a new sponsor for our Allsorts challenge and there will be some fab candy and exciting challenges in the coming weeks so keep your eyes glued for more info.

The card I am sharing today is using a JudiKins bolio stamp........these boilo stamps are such good value as you get four sides, so four totally different stamps and they are so easy to use. I have stamped the image twice with versamark onto a lightly glimmer misted background of gold and embossed with green and ruby sparkle powder. I then cut the images into small squares and matted onto green cardstock. The DP is from The Paper Company and the scallop border is using Fiskars threading water punch.

Everybody Art Challenges

Good morning, a bit more air about today, but still some rain lurking - we need it my hubby says !

This weeks Everybody Art Challenges is a sketch from Tina. I have used a new stamp from Magenta 41017K stamped in versafine sepia and embossed with detail clear onto a background created by sponging sunflower, citrus and pumpkin Stayzon onto glossy cardstock, then spritzing with Tim Holtz blending solution which makes the colours bleed. My DP is Daisy Bucket and the scalloped strip has been created by stamping an unmounted border stamp (sorry no idea of origin) onto the offcut from my main image ...... I was once accused of overstamping this one, but the dots and lines are all part of the stamps rustic look ! Circles were cut with nesties on the bug and some brown dots added to finish.

Penny Black challenge

The Penny Black challenge follows the patriotic theme Red White and Blue in honor of the "Stars and Stripes". I confess I find this a difficult colour combo to work so took a piece of Basic Grey DP with these three colours as the basis of my card and worked from there. Having completed the card I'm not particularly happy with it, but hubby likes it and as he tends to be my main critic I'll stick with it.

My image is Penny Black 3633K stamped with versafine black and embossed with detail clear. The flowers have been filled in with red sticklers and mounted white onto white pearlescent card. The greeting down the side has been created with punched circles and flowers from the same DP and stamped with a set of letters which I'm afraid I do not have a source name for. Red ribbon, a ladybird which I thought just matched, a button and a corner cut from Cricut Jasmine which I heat embossed with iridescent powder.

Rosie Dees Sneak Peek

The all new DT at Rosie Dees challenge is 'live' and have come up with some fabulous cards with some great themes in the coming weeks. Here's a sneak peek of my first DT project. Please do go check them out and look forward visiting your blogs to see all your work.

Allsorts challenge week 8

Good monring everyone, week eight at Allsorts already, this time it's Amandas turn to select a theme and she has selected a SHAPED card. There is also some super candy on offer from Pink Petticoat.

My card is using the very pretty template from Cricut Wild Card. My DP's are Doodlebug and the butterfly image is JudiKins 2696K - Cloth Butterfly which I stamped onto vellum three times and cut out to obtain the graduated wings. I coloured the back of the vellum with Marvy pens, layerd it up with silicone, addded stickles and pearls for the throax and wire for the antenna. Cirles were all cut on the Cuttlebug using nesties.

Stamping for the Weekend

All sketches this week and you get to choose at Stamping for the Weekend - what a treat, so I have opted for Donna's sketch.

I stamped my main image - Hobby Arts FL1824G using versafine black and detail clear embossing powder and coloured in with my new Promarkers ........ well after buying all 92 got to get my use out of them and more importantly get the technique right ........ lots of practice required here still me thinks.

DP is from Scrappy Cat and top border cut with MS embossed scallop. The green buds are cut from Cricut Storybook, inked with Brilliance thyme and embossed with detail clear. Flowers have been done exactly the same but using Brilliance orchid and a touch of crimson, although the look very pinky in the photo they aren't that bright in reality, it's probably the reflection because they are embossed and shiny. I have also used the crimson to stamp the greeting which is a tiny section of one of the circle greetings from Woodware FRCL128.
