Birthday Poppies

Good morning, time for a new challenge at Allsorts where Lynne has selected the theme of Embossing, it can be wet or dry embossing. Our prize is from Lisa Horton and is the same (as) the set I have used for one of my cards.

In fact Poppy Corner is one of the very first LH sets I bought, well it's Poppies! An arched card and aperture, a trellis using a really old Tattered Lace die placed over a piece of MCS DP. I used Vellum for the Poppies coloured with Oxides through the stencils on LH Ulti-Mate, cut out with the coordinating die, embossed and a simple Birthday sentiment. Beautiful Blossoms have Poppies as their inspiration, Ellies new Garden Part 18 just started, Cut it Up who would like a sentiment added and All About Frames.

My second card uses a newer LH set called Red Red Robin, coloured as above, cut with the matching die then embossed and placed over LH Padded Quilt embossing folder. The sentiment is a pretty old wood mounted Penny Black which I believe is discontinued. Linking to the Christmas theme at Krafty Chicks.

Love the arched poppy card and the sweet robin makes a fab focal point on your festive card. Great theme . . . rushes off to find embossing folders as I can’t face a heat gun in this heat!!!! xxx

Your poppy card is gorgeous, the poppies look delicate settled onto the background and frame. The Robin is wonderful sitting on the beautiful Christmas foliage, another gorgeous card. x

Two of my fav things, poppies and robins. Love how you used the poppies with the arch card and trellis. The robin is so sweet and love that touch of purple you introduced to the berries.

Your arched poppy card looks so graceful with the vellum layers and trellis, and the robin card brings a sweet seasonal touch with its rich colors and embossed background.

Using vellum gives a lovely soft and delicate look to your poppy card. The brighter colours of the Christmas card are cheerful and festive, they really pop against the white, embossed panel.

Beautiful cards Brenda, like the poppies in vellum and that lattice background compliments them well, your red robin is beautifully colored and like that background!

Two gorgeous cards Brenda and I can see why you loved that poppy corner die/embossing combo! And it's such a beautifully done card with the Tattered Lace die behind it. Also really loving the second card, the white embossed background looks fantastic and so elegant, and this might be my favorite one of the two but hard to choose as both are beautiful! So glad you linked up the first one at my Garden Party, it's alway so nice to see you there!
