Winter Berries, shy Jay's and flocks of Swans

Apologies to my teams that I'm late posting, post was prepped days ago but somehow I put it into draft and with rather a lot going on didn't realise. Holly, my right hand girl has deteriorated quickly this week, Vet who did the op in August assures me she's not in pain, her tail wags as much as ever and she wants food but can't keep it down, it's heartbreaking getting to 'that' decision.

It's the 18th of the month so mid way inspiration at We Love Stamping and Stamping Sensations with Christmas themes at both

Above a fairly new to me Penny Black stamps, the sentiment wood mounted, nice that some can still be sourced (Buddly Crafts), a masked frame with some soft stencilling and the focal image inked direct to stamp using Ecoline pens. I would like to link up with this one at Craftalicious's optional Christmas traditional colours and Farmquest Christmas.

My one make of the week, yep still very slow going as I'm far from out of the woods yet and due in hospital for treatment in a few days. It's for one of our Son's and wife who love garden birds and especially Robins so an easy choice. All stamps, stencil and masks are Lavinia. I used snippets to stamp the Robins and vase a second time to paper piece so popping to the Playground. Added crackle glaze to the vase. I've not used the colours of the inspiration at Beautiful Blossoms but do have a bouquet of flowers.

Above my snippets.

Finally another Penny Black stamp, pretty CAS for me, stamped coloured and cut into three and a die cut sentiment. Linking this one to 12 months of Christmas.

I made the above especially for Jo's Just Add Antlers theme at Christmas Kickstart and really though I had added to a post and entered, on checking clearly not, so better late than never. The pine branch is AALL and Create and all other stamps are Lavinia, Versafine Clair inks and Pan Pastels for the shading. Run Rudolph is the song title at Christmas Cards All Year Round, my Reindeer is a rather serious fellow but hope he fits. Aud Sentiments option is Christmas/Glitter and sentiment, the berries are sparkly as is the snow on the trees.

Jay's are so pretty but very shy, we know we've had them living in a hedgerow for years but rarely see them. But the other day parents and juveniles were all out feeding on the carpet of acorns under the big Oak, I wasn't quick enough to get a photo of all together but did manage some individually (taken through the kitchen window on phone so not that clear).

A good number of Swans spend Summer on the Fen drains and this time of year gather before heading up to Welney Wash where they Winter. The first picture a distant shot just up the Drove and the second another flock on a field in front of the house.

Brenda, so sorry to hear about Holly, absolutely heart breaking as she's fought so hard, wish you didn't have to deal with this while you're struggling with your own health. Sending you, and sweet Holly the biggest hugs.
Beautiful cards, as always so much to inspire in your fabulous stamped creations.
Beautiful photos too- how lovely to see the jays.

I'm so sorry to read about Holly. It's such a tough thing to do even when it becomes the right thing to do. Sending you brave wishes. And your cards are really lovely. I love the natural twist they have. The jays in your area are so different from our blue Jays which are bossy and always announce themselves. But yours are really pretty. Those feather patterns are amazing. And that's a whole lot of swans too. It's cool you get so many in your area. Sending you peace and strength. hugs-Erika

Another feast for the eyes thank you Brenda. I’m particularly drawn to the Penny black images, I like how you cut the pine branch into segments, all the cards are lovely, and fab photos too. You spoil us, I hope you and Holly get some respite, you definitely deserve it xxx

Beautiful selection of winter themed cards, love them all for different reasons. Jays are beautiful, quite often pick up a feather or two with the blue stripes and its stunning. Wow to the swans what a sight - here its seagulls instead. So sorry Holly isn't too good, it is so hard seeing our furry family members struggle - old age isn't much fun. Sending giant hugs for you and holly. Emmax

Where to start with these wonderful creations of yours, wow, so fabulous, I don't think I could pick one out and honestly, you have inspired me to go make something instead of thinking about it, thanks for that.

Stunning cards, and each one so creative. Sending love and prayers for you and Holly. I totally understand how this moment in time can be difficult, I've got a 16 y/o named Roxie who is getting to that "stage" of her life and it's difficult to think about. Thanks for joining us at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge and we look forward to seeing more from you soon.

A lovely array of cards Brenda, couldn't really pick a favourite but I love the Lavinia vase. So sorry to hear about Holly, such a hard decision even when you know it's the right one. Loved seeing the photos, especially the Jays, , not a bird we see very often. Avril xx

The mix of winter berries, robins, and antler motifs creates such a warm seasonal feel, and the layered stenciling with soft shading adds beautiful depth. The paper piecing on the vase gives a lovely dimension, and the crackle glaze detail makes it especially striking. The photos of the jays and swans bring such a peaceful touch of nature alongside your cards, enhancing the sense of winter magic.

What delightful card B - I love every one of them - naturally, including the lovely one with the robins for your snippets entry. Wonderfu photos of the jays and swans. Big hugs to Holly - from your blog post yesterday she does seem to be holding her own once again. She's certainly got true grit - just like her 'Mum' has! Good luck with your hospital treatment when it happens!
