A bit of Fantasy

Morning Peeps, at Allsorts this week along with the usual Anything Goes option Ellie has selected the theme of Magic, Myths and Legends. Our prizes come from Lavinia Stamps

So happy to tell you that my kidney op was eventually done this week, two days hospital, now back home and the best part stent gone, was becoming part of me! Which explains my lack of visits this week but hopefully normal service is resuming (slowly).

Loads of Lavinia stamps from the Dream Witch collection in both of these plus a few older ones, above uses Tree of Spirits, MarcieFlittermice, Magical Mist, Hocus PocusArch of AngelsSecret Garden and Fairy Path. A background of Versafine Clair applied with blending brushes and stamping built us using a variety of Versafine and Elements inks.

This one uses what I think is my favourite Witch from the collection Hattie (who you will see in a week or two in a totally different role) along with Bubbling CauldronMagical MistTree of SpiritsHill House and Slender Mushroom. The background created in exactly the same way as above, added colour elements to both using Posca sparkle pens.

As most know I don't really enter challenges, mainly because small print and linking plays havoc with my failing vision so I restrict that activity to my challenges (and why you may get a dodgy comment at times!!) But there's one or two I do like to join in with and The Path of Positivity is one, probably because I've always loved inspirational quotes. This month their focus is on 'Growth and Change' so I think this one from my Moments set should fit the bill nicely.

An inky stencilled background and a now retired AALL and Create stamp set, flowers coloured to create an Autumnal feel, glossy accents on the bottles and the sentiment cut in two with a little birdie to finish.

  2. 2 fabulous magical Lavinia cards Brenda, the whole composition, colour schemes and inking are perfect. It’s a great stamp collection … if I did Hallowe’en more I’d definitely get them. Also love the third card .. fab image, beautifully coloured and very positive with the sentiment. it is such a shame that all the old Tracy stamps are retiring, I must admit with an offer on at A&C this past week a couple more did sneak into my basket!
Glad to hear you have finally had the kidney op, and hope you will have a speedy recovery. I did wonder if it was happening when you weren’t around for a couple of days.
I saw your comment about the inky fingers … definitely a need for surgical gloves!! I went to a concert on Wednesday and due to having somehow taken my gloves off too soon when crafting in the afternoon I had a bright orange thumb!! 😳

  9. Loving the magical cards and also the third one with a lovely quote. Spotting the witch certainly seems to have freaked out the cat in the first one - made me smile. Pleased to hear your op has gone ahead after the various postponements and delays - all the very best for a good recovery - take things easy for a while.

  11. You can probably guess that my favourites from this lovely trio of cards are the magical Lavinia ones, such lovely scenes. I love the witch stamps, so far managing to resist them as not sure how much use I would get...but the more I see them the more I feel myself caving in to temptation!
    Hope your recovery is swift.

  12. Such beautiful and magical cards Brenda. You did an amazing job creating with all these new Lavinia stamps and some oldies added too. I'm trying to be really strong to resist the urge of buying these stamps as I don't really make Halloween cards (or very rarely). But they are so gorgeous!! And surely I need those cats!!!
Also still got the Daisy Dream set on my wishlist. A US stockist is still having it so I need to act soon before it's gone.
Happy to hear your op went well and hope the recovery is quick!
